  1. Good thing I'm not a betting man. I got every one of these wrong except the HSE game. PFFT.
  2. LOL! Got your attention! Edit...STREAMING sites.
  3. It's time for high school football again. That means that there will be tons of social media sites saying they have the stream of every game in the state. Some are even using the IHSAA's logo in their profile picture to try to get you to click on their links that will scam you or try to get your information. Make sure you are streaming from school or media sites or IHSAATV! Just a consumer warning. Example below from IHSAATV. https://twitter.com/IHSAAtv/status/1428701612512514049?s=20
  4. John Harrell predicts scores...not spreads. Kyle Neddenriep predicts scores...not spreads. Sagarin doesn't predict scores, you have to use your math skills to figure it out. I think it's different to predict betting-like spreads. Granted, I know I'm probably in the minority here. It just seems unseemly. Every ad on TV is for a sportsbook. I am sure it's only a matter of time before there's some scandal in hs football.
  5. Avon beating LN is in no way an upset. I saw you corrected yourself on the BD/Brownsburg game, but BD returns their QB and most of the O-Line. Defense will be a work in progress. Depth is also an issue. Once you get past the starters, you find guys that are participating in their first varsity action really fast. Young PK (sophomore). So...I think it all balances out. Should be a great game with a Brownsburg team that has a lot of good players.
  6. BD/Brownsburg is a win-win at their respective stadiums. Great atmosphere!
  7. I completely am with DT on this one.
  8. Give me.. Center Grove 38, Warren Central 14 Ben Davis 35, Brownsburg 31 Trinity 28, Carmel 21 HSE 42, LC 28 Avon 31, LN 28 NC 28, Fishers 14 Pike 42, Zionsville 41
  9. Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what happened. That game in 11 at Lucas Oil where Coach Streiff decided to go for the win instead of the tie and ended with the BD goal line stand was special.
  10. BD has won 14 in a row vs. Cathedral. Wish the Giants still played the Irish. Those two at Lucas Oil were classics! 1 1955-56 Ben Davis 6 Cathedral 19 CYO Field, Indianapolis C, 1-0 Parnell 2 1956-57 Ben Davis 20 Cathedral 32 Ben Davis C, 2-0 Masariu 3 1981-82 Ben Davis 9 Cathedral 13 Ben Davis C, 3-0 Wilbur 4 1982-83 Ben Davis 21 Cathedral 28 2OT Indianapolis Broad Ripple C, 4-0 Wilbur 5 1985-86 Ben Davis 14 Cathedral 17 Hoosier Dome C, 5-0 Dullaghan 6 1986-87 Ben Davis 10 Cathedral 0 Ben Davis C, 5-1 Dullaghan 7 1987-88 Ben Davis 6 Cathedral 7 Ben Davis C, 6-1 Dullaghan 8 1988-89 Ben Davis 30 Cathedral 10 Ben Davis C, 6-2 Dullaghan 9 1989-90 Ben Davis 31 Cathedral 7 Ben Davis C, 6-3 Dullaghan 10 1990-91 Ben Davis 42 Cathedral 7 Ben Davis C, 6-4 Dullaghan 11 1991-92 Ben Davis 46 Cathedral 0 Ben Davis C, 6-5 Last time Cathedral has led series Dullaghan 12 1992-93 Ben Davis 27 Cathedral 10 Ben Davis Tied, 6-6 Dullaghan 13 2001-02 Ben Davis 33 Cathedral 0 Ben Davis BD, 7-6 Dullaghan 14 2002-03 Ben Davis 47 Cathedral 7 Indianapolis Arlington BD, 8-6 Dullaghan 15 2003-04 Ben Davis 35 Cathedral 3 Ben Davis BD, 9-6 Dullaghan 16 2004-05 Ben Davis 19 Cathedral 0 Indianapolis Arlington BD, 10-6 Allen 17 2011-12 Ben Davis 24 Cathedral 21 1OT Lucas Oil Stadium BD, 11-6 Kirschner 18 2012-13 Ben Davis 24 Cathedral 21 Ben Davis BD, 12-6 Kirschner 19 2013-14 Ben Davis 26 Cathedral 20 Lucas Oil Stadium BD, 13-6 Kirschner 20 2014-15 Ben Davis 44 Cathedral 19 Ben Davis BD, 14-6 Kirschner 21 2016-17 Ben Davis 51 Cathedral 21 Indianapolis Tech BD, 15-6 REGIONAL Kirschner
  11. Cathedral did not dominate when thrown in with the biggest schools. In fact, quite the opposite. While they won Sectionals, they did not get out of Regional losing to Avon and Ben Davis.
  12. He really has done a great job. That program was in shambles when he got there. I believe they had 35 or 36 kids out.
  13. Being close to the airport, I've been told that drones are a no no in our airspace since we're within 5 miles of IIA.
  14. I think this is a solid assessment.
  15. No idea what to expect until they lace 'em up. I would expect Center Grove's going to be hard to beat, but Kirsch will have Warren ready to go as they can be. This isn't Eric Moore's first time at the rodeo. These guys (Kirschner and Moore) have tangled enough times in MIC play and the playoffs to know each other really well. I know there's a lot of respect between the two of them. By my count, Mike's 5-9 vs. the Grove and Coach Moore. I think this is a tall order for Warren. If they play again in November, that's when I'd expect WC to be even more dangerous.
  16. Expect that things are going to happen again this year. We may be done with the virus, but it's not done with us.
  17. That's fine, and I appreciate the comments. No disrespect is taken. I can see the sides on this. I don't like the word slippery slope, but I do think that the lines have to be drawn somewhere. Someone is always going to be #24 or #32 or #65, etc. I've advocated making the classes based on some sort of success factor completely. If a large enrollment school does not have a history of success, it can drop classes, for example. This way 6A would become the top 32 best teams...by some measure. Don't know how you figure that out.
  18. Not to sound cruel but there are lots of schools who are an afterthought in tournament time. Some years, that's been everybody but one school in a class. But then when someone dominates, where do we draw the line? How many trophies do we hand out?
  19. Not sure what the difference is between 24 and 32 teams in 6A. It's not going to change much. MIC vs. HCC.
  20. Ben Davis at Westfield! 7 pm on Friday
  21. 22. Been to the Final Four the last two years. They've been "in contention". Jason's a fantastic guy. Nice interview. We'll see what the Giants have in a little over a week. If it's not the toughest schedule in the state, it's in the top 5. Brownsburg-Avon-Pike-Center Grove-Warren-LN-Carmel-LC-NC.
  23. Hey DT, Thanks for all the quality interviews and offseason content. I've learned a lot reading your writeups. Just want to let you know that they are appreciated.
