  1. I think it has been in place all year. The big problem is teachers not having to update their grades every week. If a students becomes eligible...the teacher doesn't have to report it. Not good
  2. I had heard that South Bend has a new grade policy that is evaluated week by week. Two F's and you are ineligible. The problem is that teachers don't have to report their grades every week. So an ineligible student may not get their eligibility back even though they have the grades. Sad situation.
  3. I think this is a temporary slide. But it may be a couple more year. The local Catholic League (ICCL) decided to cancel it's season this fall. So there will be a lot of freshman who haven't played in over a year.. Also, unlike Indianapolis, South Bend/Mishawaka kids are free to attend either St. Joe or Marian. Right now, Marian is the preference.
  4. I would assume Chesterton Schools have at least 3 junior highs and maybe 9 elementary schools. Pioneer has one of each. Kids have known each other for a very long time. Chemistry comes much easier.
  5. Where does everyone think Indianapolis has the only kids who don't attend?
  6. I bet if the leftist union said they had to wear masks...you better believe those sheep would be wearing them On the covid note...South Bend is waiting for the rest of the state to cancel games...much easier path to the championship
  7. Actually, the South Bend Schools preformed better than I expected. I don't think any of the restrictions made things worse.
  8. These are fact are they are reported. There is no agenda in the NIC forum to cancel games. We have a long and rich tradition since 1927. This conference has survived a depression and a World War. This conference has survived the shutdown of many major companies and kept on going. It has survived, and it will survive through this pandemic. This issue wasn't with the NIC...but their opponents. The games will be played. The NIC will thrive in this environment.
  9. I would think college campuses wouldn't allow any "non-college" personnel. I know that's the case at Notre Dame.
  10. South Bend is going to allow 600 fans per game...they will still have to sell tickets to get to that
  11. I think it's awesome that Riley and Washington added Gary West to their schedule. We need to support programs that others won't. Here's to SBCSC
  12. I would tend to agree. It seems that the Republicans and Democrats love to spread fear and panic, whereas the sensible one seem to be the Libertarians (See Dr. Ron Paul's facebook page. Let's hope sanity and information rules the day.
  13. The Super is really upset with how the situation was handled. Penn is going to lose a lot of money with the attendance restrictions.
  14. South Bend will have no problem with this suggestion...may have to ask people to fill the 250
  15. Heard from a source that Adams will play Washington week 1 due to cancelations
  16. They are. However hold off on news. South Bend media have a tendency to jump the gun.
  17. Already had a situation in South Bend...Adams was to play Northridge and Washington was to play Hammond. Adams will now play Washington.
  18. I think that's a good idea. No one knows much about their teams right now because of restrictions. Not much to talk about anyway. It's sad that there isn't much talk coming from the urban areas. Maybe that's something to discuss, how to promote urban high school football. That's what the parents need to do. They need to promote the game.
  19. Who is responsible for charting the temps. Here it is the coaches. They must present the AD with the data charts. I gues to pretect from lawsuits.
  20. Doubt it...they are waiting for everyone else to cancel...easy road to the championships at Notre Dame.
  21. So...if you have two sets of bleachers that can safely hold 250 fans...you can have up to 500 attend a ball game. How many school usually have 250 students attend their game? So would that mean the school will have to limit student attendance so adults can attend? Just remember...the game is for the KIDS.
