Stated it earlier in this thread - but eventually the Miners will have to figure out the "MD Curse/Spell" or whatever it is you want to call it that they've had over them since our Sectional 40 days. Totally a shot out of left field as I haven't seen much of these 2 teams , but law of averages says Linton should eventually when one of these. Plus I don't think MD is what they were last year. Give me Linton by 2 scores.

This past weekend, while all others were enjoying their Friday night games and the opening day of deer season - we had to play on SATURDAY and it dumped about 2 inches of WET snow from 9-11 am. The forecast wasn't going to help us with any sunshine in time for a 5 pm kickoff. I can't imagine what our playing surface would have been like had we had a grass field - but it would have been a travesty to play a Championship level game in those conditions.

Our bad ...BUT, Lawrenceburg was pretty good - and it ended up being "one of those nights" ( a lot of which was caused by Lawrenceburg). 7-6 halftime score in favor of the Raiders - some missed opportunities we let slip away in the 1st half (I'm sure they could say the same thing). 2nd half after tipped pass interception, it was all L-Burg As far as this game goes - Monrovia is the complete mystery of the post-season. I know they like to hang their hat on their run game (and all I can say is GOOD LUCK if you think you'll just line up and just push L-burg around) - BUT they did hit a few passes to win the game vs. Owen Valley. Monrovia' Offense can be a challenge- but I think Greensburg provided enough of an appetizer that it won't be completely foreign to L-Burg. I would be a tad surprised if L-Burg doesn't punch their ticket to LOS - BUT - Monrovia did survive a sectional with Tri-West, Western Boone, and Danville....that is a meat-grinder.

Eventually Linton will crack the "MD code/curse/whatever you want to call it" - they are too good a program not to. Typically I would have a pretty good pulse on this game, as both were old Sectional 40 adversaries (how much fun would that old sectional have been this year!?) and I would have watched plenty of snaps from both. But, not anymore...have only seen very little on Linton, and not one snap of MD all year. But- feel like this years Linton team has that "this is our year" vibe to it....I'll take Linton by a couple scores.

4A East Central at Memorial
jets replied to TigerFan20's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Interesting. I knew that Memorial considered Enlow their "homefield" - but wasn't aware that they would refuse to play on others field if it was in fact their home game. I seem to remember a day and age when Mater Dei would glady go to other fields in order to keep the game on Friday - but I also remember when they would play on Saturdays because none were available. Again - doesn't much matter - just didn't understand the dynamic if EC wanted to play Saturday. Good luck to both teams -

Well...we must have heard conflicting reports. It was my understanding they (EC) requested Saturday as were told their was a "craft fair" at Enlow. It was at that time the HC just said "play it on Friday then" So my question was why weren't other E-ville fields offered?? -

Can't believe this game is tonight and not tomorrow. I understand Bosse field is occupied by a "craft fair" - but really, none of the other 6 Evansville fields available?? Just a little jealous actually - wish we were playing tonight. The extra day can be excruciating!! -
Lawrenceburg vs Southridge
jets replied to EIACFan2022's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
When you are waxing your opponents by an average of 28+ (outside of EC) , really no need to throw the ball. Their QB is plenty capable. L-Burg is solid all the way around, Raiders will have their hands full. -
Instant Replay for the Finals?
jets replied to Bobref's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Absolutely not - you don't want to open up that can of worms. -
Lawrenceburg vs Southridge

LOL....thanks for the compliment, I guess?? ps...bigger doesn't always = stronger -
Congrats to the Miners - Boy what fun an ol Sectional 40 would have been this year, huh??! (MD, SR, and Linton) ... From afar , it seems like MD isn't quite the team they were last year - whereas it seems Linton is every bit if not more than years past. SO - if not this year for Linton to get over the MD hump, then when? ps...this is assuming MD gets past Triton, which I don't think is a given.

HNAC Week #12- IHSAA State Tournament
jets replied to Duke of Denham's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Geez ...does everyone in the HNAC run some sort of "Wing" offense!?!? Granted, I know very little about the conference, except what I read on here. But between the above mention Knox, Pioneer, Judson, LaVille... -
Always easy to play arm-chair QB.

What offense scheme did Radtke bring to Knox?? How long has he been there now ? -

Gibson Southern (10-0) at Owen Valley (10-0)

Wow - I'll eat my words on this one. I was dead wrong. Congrats to OV -
In my opinion- I don't think that's necessarily fair- as I believe the way the rule is written, it leaves itself open for interpretation. (Meaning, it's not just clearly black/white). What one official may view as "clearly intended" - another official may not. (I know you don't want to hear that) And we can agree to disagree. And it the end you will be correct because you wear the stripes, and I do not!
-
LOL ....this seems to have become Bobref's "cross-to-bear" so-to-speak. Maybe that's not the correct phrase..."white whale" ?? Just something that he seems to be very passionate about. I think I have issue with interpretation of the rule- but we've gone down that rodeo before lol

Heritage Hills (6-4) @ Charlestown (10-0)
jets replied to HHPatriots's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I know Providence has a solid squad - but I have a hard time believing a team that lost to 1A Providence will give HH trouble. Duly noted... -

Wait...what?? You don't stand a chance of beating Pike Central?? Ok then... -

jets replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I know 10-0 vs. 10-0 is exciting. And kuddos to Owen Valley for reaching that mark and turning around their program BUT - I don't think they have any idea what they're in store for Friday night. Just my humble opinion -
What if the sectionals were seeded?
jets replied to crimsonace1's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I don't think anyone is saying there will be a perfect system in any format - but what seeding does allow that the "blind draw" does not is giving credence to a good regular season. The regular season should mean SOMETHING. Wrestling coaches have figured this out for years. You establish a criteria, and stick with it. Will there be some grumblings about who got the #1 or who got the #5...sure, but it sure as heck beats the alternative of having 1-8 playing 1-8 while 2 unbeaten play in the 1st round. And anyone who can't see that is just being stubborn. Which brings me to my last point in all of this - unfortunately the IHSAA isn't going to take any action without the nudging of the IFCA...and unfortunately half of the coaches in the State won't support seeding, because they are hoping for that 2-7 vs. 1-8 and to be able to "sneak" into the 2nd round or Championship. Which, to me, is too bad.
