  1. Was that a TD on the play before? What is the HS rule regarding OOB and the pylon?
  2. 1,2,3A will be good games until the end. 4,5,6A may have some exciting moments but will be forgone conclusions in the 2nd half.
  3. Has GS played in Lucas Oil before? I seem to remember some PAC schools playing a regular season game there in recent memory. Against North Posey maybe? I’m pulling for the Titans but the logistics of this week show how much of a disadvantage the southern schools are for the state finals. Losing a full day of recovery and prep with traveling to Indy last Saturday and a Friday game this week. Monday meetings - Coach and captains attend and have to high tail it back for practice. It’s a 7-8 hour commitment if you want to practice at LOS during the week. Trying to figure out if an early start Friday is better than traveling up Thanksgiving night for a hotel stay. None of the things affect Indy schools like Brebeuf this year and Chatard last year vs HH. Here’s to the Titan will being able to overcome those challenges. Safe travels and good luck.
  4. Tri-West would like a word with you. I mean, I get that "public school champs" want to hang a banner every year, but no need to overlook accomplishments by West Lafayette, Bellmont, and Tri-West.
  5. No doubt the senior group at Mt Vernon is a great collection of talent. A regional, sectional, and potentially state title over their 3 years of varsity football. 4A south has been in quite a flux over the last decade. Columbus East and New Pal bumped up. Memorial and Chatard joining. Not to get ahead, but will they be rejoining 4A next year? And Roncalli only won sectional, which means they will NOT be able to accumulate enough points to be bumped up as well. It looks like it will continue to be a changing class over the next few seasons.
  6. If you have a Roku TV or FireStick, IHSAA has an app you can download, but you will need to pay to watch. I want to complain about the $15, but to be honest, it’s nice to watch all 3 local teams of my interest - MD, EM last night and GS today. Good luck Titans. I will be watching today from the comfort of my couch, grumbling about the IHSAA price of course. Lol
  7. Thanks for sharing. Just watching those - I think Hunter Whitenack might be the biggest high school football player I have ever seen. Holy smokes.
  8. Is this a pu pu platter joke?
  9. @MDAlum82 It's been around at least since the early 2000's, just ask any Heritage Hills fan. They can tell you all about it. LOL
  10. @TigerFan20 Want to add another moment to your list? 😀
  11. The rumor I heard was TC was going to set a 11 AM start time tomorrow, which is why MD requested a Friday game. IHSAA is eager to step in when $$ from streaming could be at stake. Yet nowhere to be found when start times are set.
  12. I was not trying to lump those two in with the bad actors. My apologies if that was implied or insinuated.
  13. Count me in the anti-tourney crowd, at least in terms of multiple games in one day. There are a few programs in SW Indiana that run tournaments. And I commend them for attempting to run them in what I perceive as the "right way", at least from an outsider's perspective. But youth $PORT$ is full of bad actors who are motivated by the wrongs things, IMO. I don't go looking for trouble.
  14. Pizza by the Slice. Come for the good food. Stay for the great atmosphere and friendly service.
  15. This is where I wish the IHSAA would step in and apply a little more control. Here is straight from the Illinois (IHSA) website: A majority of first and second round games in Illinois are still played Friday night. But it allows East St. Louis to drive to Chicago for a first round game (happened in 2018). Indiana is slightly at a disadvantage because of the ridiculous Eastern Time Zone issue, so call it 1:30 - 7:30 ET Saturday unless both schools want to switch to Friday.
  16. I think this is the reason that it should stay 2nd half only. During the regular season, coaches might be reluctant to sub prior to the 3rd quarter to keep a JV team intact. During the postseason, there's no reason Junior Johnny and Sam Sophomore (who will be studs next year, just watch) can't get some meaningful snaps in the first half. This is especially true with a developing QB or RB. Let them work a series or two with the starting OL to see what they can do.
  17. Wow. Bo Derek has really fallen on hard times. (Or maybe I just misread that last part?)
  18. Agreed. [sarcasm] I would like to see the IHSAA tell Danville they can't run out of the teepee and Roncalli can't run out of the woods during tournament game. It violates Rule #5.
  19. I was aware that the state will allow schools to purchase additional medals out of pocket, after the fact. Which is kind of my point, that the state wants to plan on a max of 75 per team for postgame ceremony distribution purposes. It seems game 2 and 3 are always cutting it close to kick-off or a little after - unless Jack Kiser is playing in the 1A game and it's over quickly. LOL I'm far from defending the IHSAA on this one. I'm just saying I can see their argument, even if I don't necessarily agree.
  20. I have heard it has to do with the state finals. As in the IHSAA doesn't want to pay (or has only budgeted) for 75 blue/red medals for each class. This could just be speculation though. And you could make the argument for other sports as well. Many schools have more than 15 basketball players and 22 baseball players (I think those are the limits.) 75 "Varsity" football players, which is what the roster is comprised of, is a good number.
  21. I would say it's about 75% of the way there, but will shift a little bit more after Friday. Castle (5A) and North (5A) have yet to directly connect to the rest of the state but will by playing the Bloomington schools. I'm not sure if that will result in up or down movement, but once that happens the six degrees of Kevin Bacon should be complete.
  22. Not sure about undersized, but they definitely gave Jasper plenty to handle all night. Biggest thing is 4/5 of their OL is starting for the second year together. 20+ games of chemistry on an OL is a tough matchup for anybody. https://www.tribstar.com/sports/local_high_school_sports/northview-fb-preview-knights-will-try-to-defend-wic-gold-division-title/article_60c74c78-872d-559f-9d88-dce3bb80f5ef.html
  23. I would pick GOTW as East Central/Mooresville. Given the last 2 meetings I think EC gets it done this time. A little bit of weather is forecast and as they always say - defense and run game travels. Regardless of who wins, I think it should be a great game.
  24. Out of reactions - but like 100 times. Should have had Rifleman fall on the ball. Although in the sequel we find out that Djordjevic ends up joining the Navy and becoming a pretty good fighter pilot.
  25. NFL teams supply 12 primary footballs and 12 backup footballs apiece per game. That’s 48 footballs, on top of the 8 ‘kicking’ balls provided by the league. When was the last time a HS game rotated 56 footballs?
