That's because you haven't seen them play. Nobody slows their run game down. Prepare yourself for at least 300 yards rushing and a lot of EC TD's. You may chuckle and shake your head in desbelief, but it's your reality in a few days. NW's only hope is for Edmonds and/or Tuggle to somehow outscore EC in a shootout. I probably have a better chance of winning the Powerball than that actually happening.

My only interest in this game is to see how these guys perform against East Central. They, along with NW's offense as a whole, was enteraining against Leo. I wouldn't be surprised if Tuggle and Edmond alone could generate 20-25 points for NW. Doesn't really matter though when East Central's offense will come close to scoring on every posession.

It's too bad the Lions OC couldn't fly back to Chicago with the team and take over HC duties with Flus being demoted to strictly DC.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the screen passes. Coy is a very good WR who beat Zachary on multiple occasions. And Smith with Brownsburg had the speed to get behind the Ben Davis secondary. Delich is a big DB playing WR on offense. I doubt he can cause the same problems as Coy and Smith. I'm curious to see what Crown Point tries doing. I fealt they were very vanilla against Westfield in the 1st half as the power running game was working and burning clock. Westfield's comeback forced them to adjust and they added in screens and play action passes. I can't think of a single play where they got behind Westfield's secondary for a big pass gain. Ehrlich has the arm, but I don't think he has the WR's to get open against BD on fly routes.

This is where I think having Buzea gives Crown Point some sort of a shot to at least compete. He doesn't have to watch the film to know what he's getting into. He had two VERY good Homewood-Flossmoor teams that "lost" 8A State Title games to Loyola Academy in Illinois. Technically, one of the losses was early in the Tourney as the IHSA ridiculously seeded Loyala and H-F which caused them to meet early similiar to BD/Brownsburg. His H-F teams had the same demographic makeup of BD and the best teams were loaded with D1 talent. On offense, my guess is he will use a lot of play action and misdirection to try to combat the pressure that BD's front 7 brings on every play. I was shocked that CP was able to effectively use their power run game against Westfields front 7. I think it's impossible against BD's front 7. Ehrlic is only a Junior and is already fielding MAC offers. He can throw the ball. They'll need him to throw a lot more than he did against Westfield. 6'3 S/WR Landon Delich is a Toledo commit. I'm sure Zachary will be on him all game. Maybe that will open up some other areas of the passing game that CP tries to attack. I thought CP benefitted by getting Westfield as HSE's passing attack with Donovan and Co. was more lethal of an offense than Westfield's. Penn completely abused the CP defense. I have little hope they'll stop Ben Davis' offense. If Crown Point can counter Ben Davis' relentless Defense with crafty play calling and sustaining long drives I could see them only losing by about 15-20. Otherwise, I think it'll get ugly by the end of the 2nd quarter. As a former DAC player at Portage I'm just happy to see the Duneland back on the big stage with Valpo this year and now finally representation at the 6A level. IMO, CP the program has already won. They proved they can get over the Hamilton County hurdle similiar to when the Duneland was finally able to beat Penn with Valpo and Samardzija. CP has the enrollment, resources and community buy in to keep getting better and be a contender in the 6A North for years to come. If that comes to fruition maybe they'll take the next step in years to come and actually be capable of winning at LOS.

That was probably the last show I watched. I stopped years ago. The only way I watch any talking head show at this point is if I catch the tail end of a Fox or CBS pre-game show just before the Big Noon Kickoff on Fox or prior to the start of an NFL game. The absolute worst for me right now is Mike Greenburg. Just awful. I didn't think it was possible, but I found someone to rate below Skip Bayless.

No reason to get so chesty. I doubt anyone from Knox thinks they're going to be pushing Chatard around or dictating the game. Anyone who doesn't have their head in the sand can read the writing on the wall. With that said, if you knew anything about Russ Radkte, you'll know the Redskins will walk onto Chatards field with likely no fear in their minds. That guy instills toughness and confidence. But, he's not bringing his 1997 Griffith juggernaut down to Kessler Blvd. Chatard by however much they want.

The Duneland won 3 straight 3A Titles in the late 70's with Valpo, Merillville and Portage. Zero chance the parlay pays out again with Portage in 6A. The Pirates have won 4 Regionals in the past 5 seasons. Semi-State is the hump they've been trying to get over.

Ha! I used to live in the original Monon Place Apts at Compton & Kessler before moving to Hamilton County. I enjoyed seeing Chatard fans flood the neighborhood for games at Broad Ripple. It had a vintage atmosphere. When I lived near 61st and Evanston the current on campus stadium was still just a field of dirt. It’s impressive what they’ve turned that land into.

Haha. Speaking of him, he proclaimed last week on the Region Board that everyone in the state, including The Indy Star, was calling the Merillville vs. Valpo game the 5A State Title.

Merrillville doesn't have a JoJo Johnson or Justin Marshall this year that can take any carry/reception to the EZ, but they still have speed and lots of it at RB and WR. The Pirate Offense is much more efficient in the run game and short passing game. Their QB has zero downfield accuracy. Logan's eyes will probably pop open when he sees some of the downfield pass attempts against Valpo last week.

I slowed down the speed and took the attached screenshot. #4 for Merrillville was already in position to make a playon the ball just as the Valpo WR caught the ball. It's hard to tell fromt the angle if the Pirate defender only hit the hands/arm/ball or the helmet of the WR as well. I noticed that live and rewound back to make sure I actually saw what I thought I saw with 78 making the tackle. Wow! The RB trying to stiff arm him was amusing.

Do programs like Chatard have any influence on how CYO teams are ran? I would assume a school like St. Pius X is sending a majority of their kids to Chatard based on distance. Does their coaching staff have a Chatard influence?
