  1. Yep. He's not going to sit the bench. The musical chairs of QB's is pretty wild to see. I can't believe I just saw Slovis and JT Daniel's were back in the portal and have found new schools.....AGAIN.
  2. Spot on! Honestly, they could be sending a message to Allen that if you want the job you're going to face adversity and earn it in the Spring against some real competition. But, if they strikeout in the portal and/or a portal transfer doesn't produce, they're going to look foolish if Allen does end up transferring somewhere. On the flip side, maybe this is Allen's move to force Walters/Harrell into proving that their plan for an offensive scheme is good enough for Allen to stay. You see Fleck is already accusing Fickell of negative recruiting against Minnesota? That could be a nice littler rivalry brewing in the West.
  3. Supposedly Purdue is the leader to land Hudson Card who is a former Top 100 recruit that lost the Texas job to Ewers. It's possible Allen wasn't too happy that Harrell/Walters were looking at the portal for a QB. Card played a few games this year when Ewers was hurt and put up very solid numbers. It's entirely possible he could be an upgrade considering Allen has never started a Big Ten game.
  4. Well this just F'n sucks. I've been excited for this kid to be QB1. Have to wonder if he and Harrell didn't gel or Harrell wasn't sold on Allen and wanted to work the portal himself. Or, the the last of the Brohm clan that was allowed to stay in WL for some idiotic reason is in his hear about going to Louisville or wherever Brian Brohm may land.
  5. Unreal. Wake Forest is going to let him play in their Bowl Game even though it's likely he's going to transfer to ND after the season? This and the North Carolina QB reportedly receiving multi-million dollar offers to leave Chapel Hill when he's not even in the transfer portal is absolutelycrazy.
  6. These kids are still doing the stupid hat tricks? And then he didn't even sign with Oregon? What a joke. lol. 100%. All day. Oklahoma came in at the last minute with a better offer than Oregon. End of story. And this kid will be a signing day punch line for the rest of his life even if he doesn't see the NFL.
  7. I'm surprised Johnson wants out considering Walters was hired. To me that says he may want to play at a bigger progrom for a season.
  8. To clarify, I think he'll be good. But legitimately competing for Big Ten titles good on a consistant basis, I'll wait and see.
  9. I would say Nebraska since their coach has already proved his worth at Baylor after rebuilding Temple. Fickell had the benefit of coaching an NFL laden roster when running Ohio State. I'm not 100% sold he's going to succeed at Wisconsin. I think he can, but time will tell.
  10. This is another reason I'm excited for the expanded CFP. Most Bowl games just don't push the needle for me anymore once all of NFL talent calls it quits.
  11. I'm definately optimistic about the hire. Just as a Purdue fan accustomed to not having nice things I'm convinced this will be a stepping stone for him if he does succeed. IF that becomes a possibility, I would like to see if Purdue goes all in financially to keep the wolves at bay.
  12. That's awesome. Love the way technology can give us a glimpse behind the curtain from time to time.
  13. Likely. My guess is it either doesn't work or he's wildly succesful and moves on to a better program or goes back home to Colorado once Deion uses the Buffs for a better gig.
  14. Agreed, but is this kind of expected? I would think most Coordinators don't want to wait around to see if the new boss will keep them. Has it been reported that they're going after Beamer or do you have good sources? Seems like it could just be a cash grab by him and his agent to float his name for South Carolina to pay him more. I do like Walters even though he's a defensive oriented coach. I like that he has experience building a very solid defense without 4 and 5 star recruits.
  15. I would be highly in favor of this. I rather Purdue hire someone that isn't going to use Purdue as a stepping stone. Monken is mid '50's with a lot of experience as an OC in college and the NFL. I would like to think he would pull a Joe Tiller and just ride a HC job out to retirement.
  16. This. Same with Orgeron. I would hire him every day to coach my DL and recruit, but I dont want him as the CEO of the program. I do wonder if Leonard's celing is DC and there's nothing wrong with that if it is his celing.
  17. I hope they pass on Leonhard. Could be Brohm 2.0. My fear is he would use Purdue as a stepping stone to prove to Wisconsin he can run a B1G program. Plus, he's defensive minded. I much rather Purdue find an offensive minded HC. Honestly, I just hope whoever they hire doesn't view Purdue as a stepping stone and is committed to the long haul.
  18. Sounds like my type of guy! Hopefully, the roots he and his family of developed in West Lafayette are now stronger than the appeal of going back to Louisville.
  19. Haha. I love watching Burrow throw the ball. His accuracy is insane. Looks like the NFL is proving that 2018 LSU passing offense was indeed freakishly good with Burrow, Jefferson, and Chase.
  20. I've seen about 5 minutes of TCU football this year. I've never been much of a fan of the Big 12. Can they hang with Michigan? Georgia at -6.5 seems like a lock.
  21. I hope you're wrong. All I ever hear publically is that he and his family love living in West Lafayette and he likes the idea of building something special at Purdue. Him "building something special" was even mentioned during the BTT game. He has publically said before anyone can win in places that are historically good. My hope is he relishes the idea of turning Purdue into a consistant 8-10+ win team over going back to Louisville. Afterall, it is Louisville. How long will he be the prodical son without any ACC Titles or CFP births? Their fans are almost as bad as Auburn's when it comes to expecations vs. reality. To whom much is given much is expected.
  22. I'm happy Fields played well and made solid progress throwing the ball downfield. The 1st INT was clearly on the WR for not getting out of his break on a perfectly thrown ball. I'm happy the Bears retained their hold on the #2 pick. I'm not happy the Bears lost to Rodgers, again. And of course he taunted the fans like always and it was painful to watch as always. I'm also not happy Getsy focuses on the run at times when Fields was really cooking throwing the ball down field. Getsy went way too conservate in the play calling when the Bears could have put their foot on the Packers throat. Almost fealt like the Bears wanted to compete but not win.
  23. Wow...Am I living under a rock? I completely missed that it was expanding to 12. Not sure why I thought 8. I just read the 1st round is expected to generate roughly $450M in Revenue from ESPN. I can't readily find any data, but I would be curious to see how much TV Revenue the SEC and Big 10 will earn today. As someone else mentioned, I have a feeling the Conference Championship games will be useless. USC would agree. @temptation I agree with you! An SEC/BIg 10 Playoff game in the Big House, Happy Valley, The Shoe, or Camp Randall beats a meaningless Bowl game in Florida every single year. "The first round of the 2024-25 playoff will take place throughout the week ending Saturday, Dec. 21; the CFP will attempt to schedule those first-round games later in that week. Games will be hosted either at home stadiums of the highest-seeded teams in those games or other sites chosen by that programs for logistical purposes. Those extra games are expected to general roughly $450 million in revenue from ESPN for the CFP and its members"
  24. Don't let your new association with Merrillville and @Piratefan101 diminish your ability to think. Sure, 5A as a whole wasn't very appealing to the eyes; however, Valpo, Whiteland, Snider and North Side were VERY good football teams.
  25. It’s pretty wild that USC and TCU can and will be punished for losing a bonus game when Ohio State played air. I’m sure we’ll see some wild stuff when the field goes to 8. Especially with seeding.
