I saw the game so I can attest that Penn had an off night, but the Irish had a lot to do with that off night!

Again, Cathedral mercied Penn and won the game 35-6, as Penn scored on a punt return against the Irish reserves. There's no way they should be in the top 10. I guess numbers is all that matters with ratings now.

Cathedral put the mercy on Penn. The Irish had a 35-0 lead before a late Penn punt return against the Irish reserves. I guess win/loss numbers are all that counts for some. -

Minshew needs to get out of the pocket more. He did so in the 2nd half Sunday. He doesn't have the size to stand in there and see receivers down the field.

Attucks received a vote in 4A and Roncalli didn't. It was a strange season in a lot of respects.

My first USC/Notre Dame game was in 1962, iirc. That day it rained, it snowed, it sleeted some, and the sun shined, all in one game. The Irish lost 30-0 as the Trojans were bound for the National Championship with Pete Beathard and Hal Bledsole. They were really good!

I knew you would! Well, Anthony Davis didn't show up for the Trojans, but the Irish defense sure showed up! And it looks like Marcus Freeman learned how to coach this week, or maybe he took lessons. Maybe a bit premature to question his coaching talents. GO IRISH!

Center Grove at Cathedral

Center Grove JV 27, Cathedral JV 14 Center Grove Freshman 21, Cathedral Freshman 14 Center Grove is going to be hard to beat and should be big favorites to make it downtown on Thanksgiving weekend. The Irish didn't quit, and that's a positive they can take into the sectional. The pass defense has been a problem all season. They have two weeks to get it straightened out. -
The North Central at Cathedral first round game will be played at Bishop Chatard.

Center Grove 45, Cathedral 38, final. It was wet but much more playable and warm than last week. More in the morning. I'm still in the process of drying. -

Another nice win for the Colts, and another injury for Anthony Richardson. He left in the 2nd quarter with a right shoulder injury. The Colts are quite lucky to have signed Gardner Minshew in the off season. He's a decent game manager. Colts 23, Tennessee 16. Also Zack Moss ran for 165 yards on 19 carries. Career best yardage for Moss.
