The high school rule for a touchback is the ball placed at the 20 yard line. Next level, pro and college the ball would be placed at the 25. There is no fair catch rule in high school football. The ball is placed at the spot the receiver catches it.

I fibbed. I was actually recruited to Cathedral in 1957 as a student. Had to take an entrance exam back then, even though I was a legacy. My brother also was a Cathedral graduate. I guess they still have to pass an exam for admittance?

I agree. They let a couple games go that should have been wins. They played 4 quarters today!

Nice win for the Colts today, a 41-15 road win at Buffalo. They kept the pedal to the metal today. No letdown.

This game was Taylor made. Jonathon Taylor as about 180 yards rushing some more receiving yards and a franchise record 5 TS's today. He did not sell tickets or popcorn today however.

Well, the Wolverines beat the Vegas odds then. That may be easier then beating Ohio State next year. But, Harbaugh is due, you'd have to admit that.

The entire school is recruited, all 1062 of 'em. That's how a private school fills their classrooms. It was that way in the early 1960's when I was recruited to Cathedral.

The Colts are up 24-7 in the third period, but still have a lot of time to lose this one.😉

Michigan is still getting praised even though they lost to Michigan State and probably will lose to tOSU. I think the only way Michigan wins next week is if Harbaugh retires midweek.☺️ His record in the series is not good. I don't see how Michigan beats tOSU. But even if Michigan magically beats the Buckeyes, then Ohio State has two losses. Oregon has two losses after getting blown out yesterday at Utah and either Georgia or Alabama is going to lose and if it's 'Bama that'll have two losses. Cincinnati and Notre Dame both have a chance. Notre Dame needs to beat a bad Stanford team on the road next week. I'd still like to see the Irish not make the playoff and get a nice warm site bowl game.

New Albany had at least two last night and Cathedral had one, iirc.

There were quite a few "intentional grounding" calls in the 5A southern semi last night. No "tackle box" in high school.

It's happened twice this playoff and both times the receiving team was in a deep deficit. I sort of feel sorry for the young men as they just didn't know the rule.

Cathedral did likewise in 2009. The Irish got their behinds handed to them 31-10. Never show up at the last minute expecting to win.

This really isn't a question but an observation. Twice during the playoffs, including once last night, a kick returner signaled for a fair catch at about the five yard line. I guess they've been watching too much "next level" ball expecting the ball to be put in play at the 20 yard line. It's up to the coaches to have their players up on the rules.

Notre Dame is playing today a lot like the Cathedral Irish played last night.

Cathedral's playoff wins against Decatur Central and New Pal weren't "easy" or any other word you want to use. Lots of challenges in both games.
