  1. That's fine. Then you can't get the taxpayer money for your school.
  2. When I coached softball I was always one to tell the kids to adjust to the strike zone. I never thought an umpire was trying to screw my team. Did I always agree with the calls? No. Did I get mad? Yes. But to say they have too much influence is crazy. The people who say that are those who are trying to get a walk and take that 3rd strike when it is close. I know I would call pitches to all locations in the first inning and ask my catcher what was working then we would adjst from there. The adversity doesn't come from officials it comes from people who like the way the game is being called and instead of adjusting they play the blame game. Sorry for the rant but I feel that officials get a bad rap from fans and players. This guys #2 struck a nerve.
  3. Haven't met coach yet but I have watched some Rochester Highlights. I like the wing-T. Can't wait to see what we look like next year.
  4. At my school the problem is a little bit of both. Kids in all sports here feel it is a put down to be on JV or C Team. They don't look at playing sports as a means to compete, they look at it as status. In the past your played freshman as a freshman, you played JV as a sophomore and sometimes as a junior, then your senior year you got to varsity and could play there. Now it seems kids and parents think that JV is a death sentence. I have seen kids quit a sport because they weren't going to be varsity as a sophomore. It is hard to build a program when you can't have at least a JV playing on Saturdays to get experience and build that depth you need for next season. Waiting your turn has been lost on this generation. If they can't be good now they just quit.
  5. Not a "real" thing. It is open facilities allowed by the IHSAA. Our school doesn't call it practice but our players do. It helped us last year as we saw improvement so hopefully it will continue.
  6. I love the way you won't say the names...Just say who it is.
  7. The town of Bourbon was hit hard. This is where Triton High School is located. They will for sure be out of school for the rest of the week. https://wsbt.com/news/local/severe-storms-weather-tornado-lightning-rain-wind-hail-home-tree-semis-overturned-us-30-rescue-bourbon-indiana
  8. I would love to hear who these "many" people are. Time will tell about consecutive solid seasons. I do know that we have a lot of good athletes working hard to keep momentum. We have better numbers than we have had and they are quality kids and athletes. I know we will work hard and improve. I can't wait to see all of the naysayers eat their words.
  9. I do know that at PHS we would say "Interesting! One winning season, and now you're the place to go? I'd be hard-pressed to see students beating down your door to go there!" Obviously academics aren't a strong point. We offer better English classes and our Math SAT scores are now 12% over the state average. We will get you into college.
  10. I would offer up Plymouth as a destination in Marshall County. We play in a good conference with recent state championship participants. We are going to be the CTE hub of Marshall County and our class offerings are numerous. We have the best athletic facilities in the county and we can get our students either the college credits they need to cut a year off of their post-secondary schooling or using the CTE program to get them into the field of their choosing. We have it all. Bring your athletic children here and we will build them into solid student-athletes.
  11. In a 4 year span for that to happen and have your kid change to three schools over that time than maybe the family should just wait until Johnny finishes high school before moving. Being on your 3rd high school in three years would be a negative learning experience for Johnny anyway. Athletics should not be the number one issue and if it is then the family would stay in Avon so he could play.
  12. Why are they even wasting their time with this? If a family moves the kids should get instant eligibility. If they go to another school outside of residence then they get instant eligibility. If they decide to transfer a second time no matter the reasons than they should have to sit a year. It is four years of a kid's life but they need stability. More than 2 High Schools in their life means athletics is the last thing they should be worried about. Also why do we not have NIL in Indiana High Schools?
  13. No apology needed. I was upset that we couldn't talk about it. I figured once he was exonerated then the digest "police" would let us make comments. You matter what happens in the case he is still the same person he was before all of this happened. One dropped case doesn't fix all of the things he has done. Only if they align with the beliefs of the moderators.
  14. I too was able to jump around and watch games. I wish the Semi-state games were free to watch also. I thought the LN game was a fun watch and also the Martinsville games was entertaining.
  15. I was able to watch the end of the Martinsville game last Friday and those kids are fighters. A lot of teams after the missed FG would quit and allowed Reitz to run out the clock. But I was impressed by the grit that I saw. I agree that the QB is good. I wished I would've been able to watch the NP game. Can't watch this one though. IHSAA is charging for the semi-state and state games. Good luck to both teams.
  16. This whole thing is funny. Danville couldn't stop a last second touchdown at the end of regulation and even the ensuing 2pt play. To even make the claim that the officials lost the game for them is not what they should be worried about. They should be worried about their end of game coaching and playing. It is the typical sour grapes approach that we see all too often anymore. I'm sorry it happened the way that it did but they did it to themselves.
  17. I think you are taking away from what Plymouth has accomplished. We beat Warsaw 1 out of 1 times. We beat Northwood. Making backhanded comments to make yourself feel better doesn't change any of that. Injuries are a part of the game and to use that as an excuse for losing means you didn't prepare your team for those situations.
  18. On a side note I have a question about MaxPreps. Does the IHSAA mandate that stats are put into MaxPreps? Some schools do it and some don't.
  19. The last two weeks those on this site have downplayed the Rockies. These boys will come out and punch you in the mouth. They can run the ball and dare you to make them pass. Which they can do. Ask Warsaw. Their defense is stout and they really haven't been tested with a passing game since Columbia City so I feel confident in saying they have a good shot at winning the game. These last two games will be great tests and show if we are ready to compete for a sectional title. Until they prove me wrong I am taking the Rockies.
  20. I wasn't at the game but watched it live on the IHSAA network. But I feel that Plymouth was a more confident team. I also felt that Plymouth was the better coached team. Warsaw made way too many simple mistakes that you wouldn't expect from a team who was ranked earlier in the season. Plus the fact that Plymouth really didn't have to pass until the end shows that the Warsaw didn't adjust nor could they stop the Plymouth ground game. It was a great win for us but now we have to build on it and not make this the highlight of our season. Warsaw on the other hand has to figure some things out so this doesn't continue to be a downward slide.
  21. Just heard a rumor that the Warsaw QB is out for the game tomorrow. Is there any truth to it.
  22. I guess leaving the NIC cost Glenn a game...
  23. Did his family move or did they chose to send him to Pioneer?
  24. We don't need to use non-conference games as measuring sticks. The NLC is a tough enough test for us. But learning to win is what we have lacked the last couple of seasons so getting into a winning mindset is what will help us achieve in NLC and state tournament play.
