Don't confuse a lack of interesting in your baiting and trolling an admission of anything other than simply growing tired of your never-ending drivel on this particular topic...and another attempt to hijack a thread.

I believe the GID has an ignore function. If you don't like what I post then ignore me.  Simple as that.

And I am not hijacking this Colts thread. After all they play their home games in Lucas Oil Stadium.   If I tried talking about the taxpayer funded boondoggle that is Lucas Oil Stadium in a thread about the Chicago Bears, then that may be thread hijacking, depending on the context of the remark.

I like most of your stuff.....just try to ignore the decade plus noise of complaining about Lucas Oil.  And the 2025 Colts thread has nothing to do with their venue investment.  So again, refuse to follow you down into your basement.

Good for you...go ahead and see how much discussion you can drive about a facility that was built almost 2 decades ago.

I probably will.  Thank you for your concern, and I hope you will choose to contribute to such a discussion.

ANYWAY.....

Now that John Harbaugh is available, does this change the calculus at all concerning Steichen?  Personally I don't think it will nor am I sure it should, but Harbaugh is one of those guys I mentioned would likely be considered better than Steichen and would warrant kicking the tires on.

Mr. Ballard's recent response to the press on this subject:  https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2026/01/08/colts-gm-chris-ballard-was-asked-if-hed-call-john-harbaugh-his-response/88084386007/?tbref=hp

The Colts are committed to Shane Steichen as the team's head coach entering this offseason and heading into the first-time head coach's fourth season in charge at Indianapolis, despite the availability of Super Bowl-winning head coach John Harbaugh, Colts general manager Chris Ballard told reporters Thursday.

Colts principal owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon re-committed to Ballard and Steichen within two hours of the team's season-ending loss in Houston on Sunday night, despite the team's season-ending seven-game losing streak, lack of a playoff berth the last five years and lack of a playoff win since 2018 -- a decision Irsay-Gordon told reporters Monday that she made the week prior.

Six NFL teams -- including two in-season -- parted ways with their head coach by the end of the NFL's Black Monday when GMs and head coaches are often fired, but the landscape was upended Tuesday evening with the news that Harbaugh, who'd coached the Baltimore Ravens the last 18 seasons to 12 playoff berths, four AFC Title games and a victory in the 2012 Super Bowl. In the hours after Harbaugh's firing, multiple reports noted that seven teams had called to inquire about the prospect of hiring Harbaugh -- even though only six non-Ravens teams had openings at the time.

The Miami Dolphins entered the head coaching fray Thursday morning by firing head coach Mike McDaniel, though multiple reports noted that owner Stephen Ross had not been in touch with Harbaugh.

On Monday, Irsay-Gordon emphasized that the team and organization's "sense of urgency" is as high as ever -- a reality Ballard acknowledged Thursday. But the Colts GM firmly committed to Steichen as the pair enter the upcoming offseason with serious decisions to make with a roster that became the first team in 30 years to start 8-2 and miss the playoffs.

"I would consider John Harbaugh a friend. I think he's an excellent football coach," Ballard said. "But Shane Steichen is our head football coach.

"We feel good about him."

I think that is why Miami fired their dude, get opportunity to run at Harbaugh

but they also have gm need too in south beach

Yeah, I'm guessing they were the mysterious "7th team" that had hit Harbaugh's agent up...

Did I just read Miami chose their new GM?  A guy from Green Bay, maybe?  @Irishman might be able to help.  I see some posts come across my algo, and forget to go back and double check or it could be from a fake site.

*** Appears legit.  Jon-Eric Sullivan from GB.

Yep....seeing posts that Green Bay was one of the teams currently with a head coach that contacted Harbaugh; I believe the fins were the other team to do so.

Death of Colts owner Jim Irsay being investigated by FBI, per report: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2026/01/22/death-of-colts-owner-jim-irsay-being-investigated-by-fbi/88304810007/

The FBI is investigating the death of late Colts owner Jim Irsay, the Washington Post reported Thursday, citing their reporters' review of a federal grand jury subpoena that centers on records relating to his death, substance use and his relationship with Dr. Harry Haroutunian, a California doctor.

Irsay died in May 2025, and his death certificate, signed by Haroutunian, listed the franchise owner’s cause of death as cardiac arrest caused by acute pneumonia, with the two heart conditions as contributing factors.

The FBI reportedly visited Indianapolis in January and interviewed people close to Irsay in the final years of his life, according to the Post. The story includes a statement from Colts chief legal officer Dan Emerson that the team has not been served with a subpoena or contacted by the FBI.

...

According to the Post’s reporting, Haroutunian provided Irsay with large opioid prescriptions in the last two years of his life and began prescribing ketamine later in 2024.

Ketamine is approved by the FDA for use in hospitals as a general anesthetic, but it can also be legally prescribed off-label for depression and other mental health issues. Ketamine can induce a state of sedation, according to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, and can produce dissociative sensations and hallucinations.

The drug produces a rise in heart rate and blood pressure, according to the DEA. Ketamine was not identified in Irsay’s death certificate as a potential cause of death; police in Beverly Hills, where Irsay died, did not suspect overdose as a cause of death.

The Colts have given former starting quarterback Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade, a league source confirmed to IndyStar on Thursday.

Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was the opening-day starter in Indianapolis in back-to-back seasons, but a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness led to the Colts seeking competition for the job.

Daniel Jones won the starting job after a training-camp battle last season, then turned in the best season of his career before suffering a  torn Achilles tendon.

Richardson is still recovering from a freak accident with a resistance band last October that caused him to deal with visual issues in his right eye, although the Colts quarterback has been cleared to play football again, according to general manager Chris Ballard.

...

What teams do you think would take a chance on young Mr. Richardson?

Minnesota

Atlanta

49ers

My thoughts;   Pair him with a QB guru:   These HC at these organizations have a history of success with QBs

See what O'Connell did in MInnesota with Darnold, before his GM really really messed up his decision which rightfully so, cost him his job

Atlanta:   Matt Ryan, Ian Cunningham, already cutting Cousins, not sold on Pennix it seems:  Do they trade for Baggent?  Richardson

Mac Jones may find himself in a better situation and move on from 49ers, enter Richardson,

Minnesota rehabbed Darnold, who won a Super Bowl next year, then let Daniel Jones hang and now is set to get paid

Darnold skill sets far exceed Richardson.  He's not exactly tearing it up with McCarthy's development.  Atlanta....as much as I like Penix, jury still very much in deliberation.

But I do agree....he would absolutely require a QB guru.
