Attorney from Indy: Pounces like a wolf in a community two hours away. Needs the money to support his million dollar home, BMW, and wife's daily trips to Starbucks in the morning/lunch with friends in the afternoon.

Attorney from Fort Wayne: Good luck proving your claim. Probably an open and shut case. More than likely going to chew this guy up and spit him out.

Parents making the claim: Well, we want a BMW too........we just don't want to have to work for it. Hopefully and easy $700,000 grand that most hard working people have to work 10 years to accumulate.

Kid: Shrugs shoulders, sits on the sidelines and waits. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. Sides with parents. Oh well, some guy from Indy made it easy for us to transfer wherever we want.

High school football is becoming a train wreck. Losing interest fast.

I hear what you're saying, as a snider alum, I thought every program dealt with kids occasionally falling out due to whatever was ailing them. Years past, none of this was reported and everything was kept in house. If you had a kid that was out there and told to push through to only be told go to the ER later on, how would you address the situation?

Not going to speculate any further. Everything on this thread so far is speculation. Not gonna give this topic the ten pages that Muda is looking for. I do find it interesting that the topic hasn't been shut down yet. If you look at some of the topics that have been shut down in the past, those are chump change compared to this. I'm out..........hope to see you on another thread talking actual football.

I agree with the statement that this is all speculation. Before things go too far into unwarranted attacks on individuals, let's see how it plays out. Won't close it yet, and hopefully there is not a point that becomes necessary.

Edit: To clarify, closing would only be a temporary thing while it does play out in court, or wherever a decision/resolution is made.

Sorry that you only want rainbows and unicorns stories concerning Indiana High School football.  And I never start a thread "looking for 10 pages."   I simply find stories or opinions that may (or may not) spark discussion.  Sorry that you hate that, although methinks if this tragedy had occurred in the likes of Evansville, Lafayette, or Indianapolis and not your beloved Fort Wayne you would not be as vociferous.

Googles "vociferous." Hmmmm.............."in a loud or forceful manner." DONT USE WORDS YOU DONT KNOW THE MEANING OF!

Rainbows and unicorns? You're posts wouldn't be half as annoying if you actually posted a "rainbow and unicorn" type of post once in awhile. If it wasn't for topics like this one, you wouldn't contribute at all. You're a fire starter, that's it. Nothing more. A sad figure.

Heads are going to roll.  Is this the end for organized tackle football for FW Snider, and maybe the entire FWCS?

I wonder if the hospital did any blood work or other work to make sure what caused it all

It speaks volumes that you have to search for the definition of a somewhat common word,  at least common to those of who who actually read works more complex than social media or forum posts.

And the word is completely justified here.  Your forceful manner in this thread has been on display for everyone to see.

And here is a nice rainbow and unicorns type of story for you: https://www.jconline.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/11/07/pine-village-football-descent-mike-fenters-carries-legacy/76096181007/

I think this thread proves just how hard it is to be a football coach. The job of a coach is to push your athletes to their maximum potential, if not you are doing your players a disservice. There is also a fine line in this because you are also trusted with the health and safety of these players as well. The first couple of weeks of high school football are hot in Indiana, especially on Friday nights. You have to push athletes in order to survive the first couple of weeks to make it through a 48 minute game of varsity football. Difficult difficult situation to be in as a coach. Time needs to be spent heading into the season training kids on how to prepare for a game or practice properly hydrating throughout the day. I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread, high school athletes feel invincible until they aren't. Without proper preparation, no one is. I feel for the coaches and I feel for the players, difficult situation to be in at Snider.

Speaks what exactly? I love God, family, and my neighbors. What else do I need? I'm a college dropout who gives back to the community and could probably buy you 50 times over. Not sure what not knowing that word says about me. So enlighten us. Go ahead and copy and paste an example of "forceful manner" since you have nothing else to do. Going back to work, will check in later.

I'm a college graduate who gives back to the community.  What is this now, a dick-swinging contest?

As for the buyout offer, give me a price.

LOL. Here is another:

"Don't make too big of a jackass out of yourself from all the way down in Evansville."

Imagine someone calling me, an overfed, long-haired, leaping gnome - a jackass...

He did at one time under a different name. Then left under the pressure and came back with this new name.

I might finish 2 or 3 books a year at best. I'm too busy out in the real world. More of a doer than a reader to be honest.

And you don't get to copy and paste anything after your "vociferous" accusation. Man, you'd make the world's worst attorney. Give it up. Not engaging in your back and forth nonsense. Better things to do.

Haven't these decisions on practice and what's safe been delegated to the person with the wet bulb thermometer?

Perhaps in a general sense. But I would expect a lawsuit would concentrate more on the vulnerabilities and symptoms displayed by the individual kids. You can’t treat everyone the same since different kids respond differently to heat stress.

Yeah. Go read a book.  Off the top of my head I recommend "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" or "Friday Night Lights:  A Town, A Team, and a Dream." Both are superior to their movie versions.
