The only ranked team in the SIAC other than Memorial.....so what does that say about your conference?

Evansville North is also ranked all 3 polls.
Mater Dei is also ranked in all 3 polls with a losing record.  So I would say the conference is is fairly highly respected.  Or 3A is deemed fairly weak past the top teams.
Castle and Reitz just dropped out I think.

For me...ranking is top 10....which typically in the SIAC there are a few.  This season appears to be down.

Rankings mean nothing, as you know full well. I've seen Jasper and HH. HH will have no problem in my opinion.

In other news.....I saw an SIAC team played 2 players on a Friday night for 4 quarters then turned around and played them 4 quarters in a JV game (from film observation).  Do you guys see this alot in the SIAC?

I think Jasper is quite a different animal since you guys saw them.

That was Central, right? Sounds like they need someone with a notebook to keep better track of things. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more with a few of the teams in all honesty.

As for Jasper, its kind of funny. I guess they are the only team that has improved from Wk. 1. But I get it. It fits a narrative some may want to believe to help them sleep better at night. In the SIAC, about the only teams I would say who are maybe worse now than Wk. 1 are Bosse, Reitz and MD.

Nope not Central.  No team has improved as much as Memorial since week one.  It is evident from film and scouts.

Interesting. I saw Central got mentioned in the IHSAA minutes from 10/9 for having multiple players who exceeded the quarters limit.

Just let us know when we have to start paying rent.

Paying rent is cheaper than paying consultants.  LOL

That means someone had to report Central I assume.....again not Central in my example.

IHSAA minutes say it was self-reported by Central. I don't know how anyone could accurately keep track of the opponent's numbers. It would not surprise me if a player had one number for varsity and a different one for JV, depending upon how they might be used personnel-wise in the varsity game. Not a big deal either way IMO.

In my example one player had the same number and one player had a different number.  You can tell who kids are, body shape, gate and position are all clues.  Film is so much more vivid/detailed now days.  In my view the number change was an attempt at deception.  It's really not the end of the world, but there rules.....if they don't count get rid of them.

I've seen most of the Memorial JV games, missed Central and Reitz..    As far as Memorial JV, there will be no fewer than half a dozen players each game that will wear a number of a varsity player and not their own number that is on the Varsity roster.  Various reasons, but the main one I think is the JV games are a different set of jerseys than those worn in Varsity games and they do not have their number for whatever reason.  Then there is tendency to try a new number if it is an option.

I heard Central had a number of varsity players play first half.  I thought Harrison had some repeat players also.  Didn't really notice anything excessive, but didn't see Reitz.

It's not Memorial.  Memorial is a lot of things....but rule breakers isn't one of them.

The Eleventh Commandment is "Thou shalt not exceed the quarters limit."

Maybe we should have spliced porn into trade films, huh?

To be fair, my understanding is that he didn't do it on purpose. Besides, he was busy deciding if the first or second back through the hole would get the ball.

Also, this is a warning for the thread to stay focused on this year's football. We are still in season, so let's keep convos centered on the young men who will be ending their high school careers over the next few weeks.

Was surprised when I found the Jasper game on the radio on the way home from Washington in the fourth quarter Boonville had the ball, was driving deep into Jasper territory, and about to tie it up.  Boonville fumbled not long after that, Jasper scored, and it was over, but what was going on in that game?  Was this just a fluke thing where everything that could go wrong for the Wildcats did?  Anyone have any insight?

Best way to sum it up right there, turnovers and penalties.

HH will dominate Reitz this week. Reitz has been impacted by injuries and although they have a few very good players left, it won't be enough to compete with HH on what should be a sloppy track. Once HH gets up a few scores, Reitz will unravel. Jasper will pound Harrison, which is essential a mid-Sectional bye week.

It was a turnover fest. Poor execution from both teams.
