temptation Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 One week to go in the regular season but with the draw being last night, figured it'd be as good a time as any to generate some discussion around the 4A tournament. Central Indy stalwarts Chatard and Roncalli likely see each other in the sectional semi-final where one of them goes home early. With the growth of the Indy suburbs, Pendleton Heights and Yorktown are sneaky good but not garnering much attention. Heritage Hills has the most talent in the field and should roll to semi-state. The South Bend are, NWI and Fort Wayne area each have a contender in the north. Who emerges? Temp's Title Odds: Bishop Chatard: 35% Heritage Hills: 30% Roncalli: 15% Mishawaka: 10% East Noble: 5% The Field: 5% Whatcha think? 1 Quote
Komets2727 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Have to say that if you are giving East Noble a 5% chance where is Dwenger? Those 2 teams play and I am rolling with the Saints. Defense is nasty good. Thing I would say about Dwenger is they got Leo in round 1 and that is a scary game for the Saints Quote

Rodney Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 what is the point of giving both east noble and the field 5% should you not just classify it as 5% for the field Quote

BLACKGOLD2007 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Are we putting Mishawaka in the Semi State game? Like their only competition in sectionals is Northwood and St. Joe (Which I think Mishawaka v St. Joe will be a good game) But, I dont know what is going out of the region's sectional. That leads me to believe we will have a Mishawaka v Dwenger semi State in the north. Quote

Temp's Title Odds: Bishop Chatard: 35% Heritage Hills: 30% Roncalli: 15% Mishawaka: 10% East Noble: 5% The Field: 5% Whatcha think? Will be an interesting game. Chatard beat Roncalli early in the season 33-11. Against common foe, Harrison, the outings seemed to indicate a flip. Chatard, while in control of the Harrison game, for the most part, was still only up by 7 with just around 4 minutes to go in the game when they stretched the lead to 10 with a field goal. They had a 7-point lead going into the half too. By contrast, the Harrison-Roncalli game was over pretty much 3 minutes into the 2nd half where Roncalli led 23-0 going 3-for-3 on their initial possessions and grabbing a safety. Royals led 36-7 at the half and turned it into a running clock on their first possession of the 3rd quarter. While the final score says 57-20, it wasn't that close ... Harrison's final 6 points came on the last play of the game on a long pass. No PAT was attempted as time expired and the PAT wouldn't have mattered. One thing I noticed, which might be a difference item, is that Jarvis didn't have any rushing yards in the game against Chatard although he did have 3 receptions for 43 yards. Ash, the QB had the most rushing yards against Chatard with 79 yards on 17 carries and a TD. Against Harrison, Jarvis had 146 yards on 19 carries with 3 TDs. Ash had 11 carries for 76 yards and a TD as well. Jarvis is listed at 201 lbs. and 6'1". Not sure why he didn't carry the ball in the earlier game against Chatard, but he may well be a difference maker in a rematch. 1 Quote

Just don't underestimate them. Last year I dubbed EN/Dwenger to be a barn burner. East Noble won 38-0 and pretty much dominated their way to the state championship. They even dominated that game for the first 60 seconds. Quote

At this point, Dwenger will beat EN provided they beat Leo, who I think will give Dwenger more issues than EN. All about matchups… 1 Quote

I have Dwenger and East Noble dead even at the moment. There's swagger at this East Noble program, I like that. They fear no one. They'd square up against Carmel thinking they're the predator and the Greyhounds were the prey. They have a confidence about them. 2 Quote

Updated: Bishop Chatard: 35% Heritage Hills: 25% Roncalli: 10% Dwenger: 10% Mishawaka: 10% East Noble: 5% The Field: 5% East Noble is the beneficiary of a perfect draw and pretty soft opponents until the sectional championship. Dwengers defense is top notch, but if they get put in a situation at any point in the tournament where they need to throw the ball, the Saints are done for. Mishawka has a tough matchup with Northwood, but other than that I see them coasting to Semi state. Overall, probably doesn't matter who comes out of the north with HH or Chatard likely looming in the championship. Quote
