HHPatriots Posted November 1, 2025 Posted November 1, 2025 These are old rivals that unfortunately don't get to play anymore--now our scrimmage partner. There is quite a history between these 2 schools and they both see red when playing each other. Not much love here. Looking forward to next Friday! Since the all-in playoffs started in 1985 this is the 27th time the Patriots have advanced to the Championship game of sectional. Both the Patriots and Wildcats are among the all-time leaders in sectional titles in the Evansville area. Sectional titles from Southwestern Indiana 1.Mater Dei 24 2.Memorial & Reitz 17 4.Castle 16 5.Heritage Hills 15 6.Jasper 13 7.Southridge 11 4A Polls AP Jasper is ranked 11th & Heritage Hills 4th USA Today Jasper is ranked 9th and Heritage Hills 3rd IFCA Jasper is unranked, and Heritage Hills is ranked 2nd This season Jasper is averaging 31.6 ppg and giving up 14.4 ppg and the Patriots are averaging 51.2 ppg and giving up 9.8 ppg. The 2 teams only have 2 common opponents Boonville and Reitz Jasper beat Boonville 14-0 and Heritage Hills beat Boonville 37-12. Jasper beat Reitz 20-14 and Heritage Hills beat Reitz 31-14. This is the 26th meeting between Heritage Hills and Jasper and the Patriots lead the series 14-11. Jasper and Heritage Hills played in the regular season in the 1978 and 1979 seasons and the Wildcats won both meetings. The 1979 Patriot loss was a tough one, because a win would have given the Patriots their first unbeaten season and clinched a playoff berth. After the 1979 season Jasper was replaced on the Patriot schedule with North Knox who joined the PAC for a brief period. The Patriots went 10-0 that year, but without Jasper on the schedule the Patriots played too many 1A schools and didn't earn enough points for a playoff berth. The Patriots and Wildcats didn’t meet again until Jasper dropped to 3A from 1993-1996 and they split the four sectional matchups. After Jasper moved back to 4A, the two teams wouldn't meet again until the regular season series resumed in 2001 The Patriots won the 2001 game knocking off the eventual 4A state champion Wildcats. After the win in 2001, the Patriots won the next 6 meetings to take a 9-4 series lead. Starting with an 18-0 win in 2008 Jasper won 6 of the next 7 meetings to tie the series at 10-10 & the Patriots have won 4 of the last 5 meetings. Many don't think so, that is part of what got us beat against GS--"oh, we will be fine". If everyone is healthy (big IF) I think at the end it'll be a HH in a 2 score game. I'm glad HH finally got W in a close 4 qtr contest last week. All that being said, as was very evident last week, these Patriots are not immune to mental lapses. Looking for it to be close going into the 4th qtr. Hoping them Patriots learned some big lessons last week, come into Brewer "HOMERDOME" Field sharp, and run away with it early. Can't wait for Friday night! Edited November 5, 2025 by TommyTwoTimes Quote
jets Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 We all know the elephant in the room. The Pats aren't a one-trick pony - BUT - if that one pony is hobbled up - it is a complete game-changer and gives the Wildcats a good chance. Quote
TommyTwoTimes Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 Right. Just like any other high school team blessed enough to still be on the field in November, having a great Plan A, Plan B, C, and D is crucial to winning championships. Quote

Kind of feeds into my comments about playing both ways due to roster size. I think 4A is where roster size/platooning starts to become a thing. Was surprised HH had only 44 kids per max preps. Quote

There is not a single person that makes or breaks this game. The coaches have to have them mentally prepared, we got the horses, but must have the mentality. When 1 person is bigger than the program, things will fall apart. Get your head right and go. Quote

I'm most interested to see HH open up the playbook as they advance. I think there's about one third of the offense that hasn't been revealed. Now, those plays might still have to go through Jett, but let's see! Quote

Sure...we all agree football is the ultimate team game - but to act like not having or having a limited Mr. Football candidate won't impact the game is just asinine. The Pats may very well still win - they are THAT good, but they might not. Quote

After all, this is football and season ending injuries happen all the time. We were obviously not prepared mentally for Jett exiting the game last week. Figure it out, adapt, move on. Quote
WWFan Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 The real question is.....is Jasper concessions any good? 🤔 Quote

Alduflux Posted November 6, 2025 Posted November 6, 2025 The defending state champs from the 2 PAC vs a team from the lowly SIAC that hasn’t won a sectional since the players had baby teeth. HH wins this one getting off the bus. Quote

Wishbone running back pass for the win. The lack of motion/eye candy used in our offense this year is interesting. Need to keep linebackers eyes off of #3 imo Quote
