Covington @ FC - Battle of the injuries in this one. Rumor I'm hearing is that Covington's qb hurt is knee against Poly and they are not sure if he'll be back this season. Not only has FC lost the older Foxworthy due to blowing his knee out in the summer they have now lost the younger Foxworthy too. A dirty blindside block last week on him sent him to the hospital. I think this will be a low scoring game FC 24 Covington 20

PH @ Attica - Maybe the Wolves are the real deal. They will start 3-1 for the first time since Moore left. The passing game of the Wolves has surprised me. Maybe Rector is prepping for the next couple years when he has the 8th grade qb. He'll be the best player in the conference as a freshman and would start at qb for every WRC school right now. PH by as much as they want.

RP @ Seeger - Panthers started slow last week. I think most of it was from all the emotions from retiring #30. I don't see them starting slow this week. They will get out in front early. Running clock in the second half 56-14

SV @ NV - NV surprised me with last weeks win. The Hinchee kid at qb is legit and will be one of the best players in the WRC soon. SV looks to bounce back from a game it sounds like they had won until a couple late penalties. The two qbs will battle it out this week and I think SV has better athletes and will be more hungry after last week. Wildcats 28-22

Covington @ FC- Coach Earl is going to get his first win this week. Not sure what happened last week against the Falcons but it definitely surprised me. I think FC is doing the right things, just not sure what they are going to be able to do without Foxworthy. Hopefully he will be back to finish his conference run because there are some more winnable games on the schedule for FC. Give me the Mustangs by a score.

PH @ Attica- PH might be the real deal and may give the Panthers a run for their money for first place in the conference. I think the week 8 match up between the Woofs and the Loins is going to be the game of the year in the WRC. Attica is still on the struggle bus. The Rox by as many as they want.

RP @ Seeger- The Panthers had some slow starts this year but it seems like they can flip that switch whenever they want to. Saw the stats from Friday night and it looked like the Lesniak kid was back and getting some carries. Not sure who #2 is for the Panthers but he's only a sophomore and going to be a stud. RP is better than Seeger up front but with Seeger having athletes and slinging the ball around I think this could be a good game. Give me the Panthers by a score.

SV @ NV- NV pulled off the the upset last week, I think everyone in this thread thought that Covington would win that. SV lost a heartbreaker Friday that could have been won with a field goal... I think Hinche is going to do his thing against the Visors defense but the Kittys have too many athletes. Miller and his crew are going  to win this game by at least 2 scores.

Covington @ FC - What a string of bad luck for the Mustangs.  And interesting comment on Covington's QB WRC123.   It appears he didn't play against NV either.   I would like to see the play that knocked the FC QB out bc I was told it was a "bang bang" borderline play on a punt, not a malicious blindside hit as stated.  Unfortunate, for sure.   If both QB's are out, give me FC.  They have the best athlete on the field in Bachelor.    FC 24-12

PH @ Attica - I'm still on the PH train.  They'll handle business and probably do so until they see RP later this season.   And I think they can stand toe-to-toe with RP based on how the season has gone so far.   PH 50 - 6

RP @ Seeger - As much as I'd love to see this be a competitive game, I think RP is probably better than Carrol, who controlled the Seeger game.   I love the Seeger offense, but too many clock stops combined with the RP run game spells bad news in 2026.   I wrote it last week and I'll write it again - Where does RP get all these kids?   Lesniak came back last week and had multiple TD's, along with Pope.  Seriously, the kid has touched the ball like 12 times and has 5 TD's.  RP 46 - 14

SV @ NV - Is SV the most underachieving team in the conference thus far in 2026?  And is NV the most overachieving through three games?   Who would have thought through three weeks that NV and SV would have had the same number of passing yards?  It's a toss-up, so give me SV and their all-world QB.  SV 35-24

Covington vs FC - Definitely surprised on the Covington/NV game last week. Hinchee was very impressive, and Covington without their QB will struggle. I didn't get a chance to see the hit on the FC QB, but heard it was away from the play and completely unnecessary. It isn't the first time an RP player has sent a kid to the hospital on a dirty hit like this. Give me an FC trick play for the W 22-13.

PH vs Attica - PH wins this by what they want, but I'm not completely sold on them yet. WRC is weak enough this year that they will win some more games, but I don't want to say they will give RP a run for their money just yet. 47-6.

RP vs Seeger - May be close for the first 3 minutes, but RP will destroy Seeger up front and get to Salts all night. With Seegers lack of a running game, this will be a blow out unless Seeger can win their 1 on 1s quickly against cover 0. 54-13.

SV vs NV - This will be a good battle early between the two QBs. Hinchee is showing his arm is very good, and Shryock has been a lot more involved with his legs this year. SV's running game alone will be enough to win this game, but if they figure out their passing game it wont be within 3 scores. 35-13.

Week 4...

Covington @ Fountain Central - Gonna be tough for both teams without their starting QBs. The Trojans had last week won. The Mustangs kept fighting after a scary situation. Word is he is gonna be fine. I've seen the hit. The block was right in front of the returner. Unnecessary? Probably. (It was flagged, also.) But not dirty or blindsided as indicated by some. (I'll just go ahead and ask the question... Why is your starting QB a coverage guy on the Punt team?) Anyways, this will be a close game. I'll take coach Earl to get his first win. 24-14

Parke Heritage @ Attica - The Ramblers came back to reality after playing a team with a pulse. I want to believe they're improved, just not seeing it yet. The Woolfs survived a scare from the Junior Visors. I don't think we can crown them just yet. That should've been a blowout. Pretty sad state of affairs in Rockville if they believe their best high school football player is an 8th grader. Anyways, they'll get to pad those passing stats this week. 41-13

Riverton Parke @ Seeger - Panther starters began to get pulled in the second quarter last week, even after the unsteady start. Two weeks in a row they've railed off 40+ points after being down early. Is this just this team's MO? Slow starts? Might get them in a bind some day. The Patriots did whatever they wanted to last week, against Attica. This week may be a different story. I think they can make it interesting against RP, but their lack of running game and dudes up front will ultimately hurt them. 48-22

South Vermillion @ North Vermillion - Good fight by the Junior Visors at Rockville last week. But the decision making needs to get better. May I suggest kicking a field goal when down by 1 in the last minutes of the 4th quarter? Falcons reminded me of their old selves fighting back and stealing one from Covington last week. Could be something brewing in Northern Vermillion county. I'm taking the home team in this one. 28-24

Covington @ Fountain Central - Might end in a tie 0-0

If by 10-15 yards away from the ball carry who was on the sideline and the hit was in the middle of the field I would say you are correct. Obviously @Bear54 and @KDumbwitty are Panthers. It was in every way a blindsided, dirty and illegal hit. If the game was anywhere but RP he would've been ejected. Two weeks in a row of it too... Not all WRC teams are as blessed as the mighty Panthers and have 50+ kids on their roster. Most teams in our conference can't afford to take an athlete off the field because the drop off in talent/strength is too drastic. So what will you guys blame it on when it happens next week? My guess is that you guys are just too good and strong for the WRC. Maybe the WIC or the MIC would be a better fit.

Parke Heritage @ Attica - PH wins by as much as they want.

Riverton Parke @ Seeger - RP wins by as much as they want.

South Vermillion @ North Vermillion - SV by a couple scores.

If you’re looking for the week 4 thread it got deleted. If you come on this weeks thread and try and f&@k it up you’ll be deleted instead. And then I’ll rip out your karate artery and saw tay it in hot butter like Hannibal Lectors. Keep it on your MySpace page.

Congrats to Mustang Coach Jacob Earl on his first of many victories.
The Tenderloins could’ve scored 100 points against Seegers. Did they tackle and block too hard this week?

Covington @ South Vermillions

Fountain Central @ Attica

North Vermillions @ Riverton Parkes

The Woofs @ Seegers

My mama said she talked to Donnie's mom Phyllis one time when she was picking up chicken wings for dinner from the place Phyllis gets her sticky singles. Said Donnie has a whole wall of people's saw tay'd karate arteries. Don't play with Donnie!

Covington @ SV- Covington is struggling.. i heard there running back is out but not sure how big of a factor that plays. The Falcons played the Cats a lot closer than I thought it would be. Miller is going to get another conference win under his belt. I'll take the Jr Visors by two scores.

FC @ Attica- Congrats to Coach Earl and staff on their first win, very well deserved. Does anyone know when Foxworthy will be back? They won't need him this week but there are some more winnable games on the schedule for the Mustangs when they get him back. Hats off to Attica, they are doing what they can. I'll take the Earl's by 3 scores.

North Vermillion @ RP- North Vermillion put up a fight against SV, it looked like they moved the ball well on them. I think Crum has things going in the right direction he just doesn't have enough dudes yet. Hinche is going to be good, he throws the ball well and is a big running QB. I thought the Pats would put up a little bit more of a fight against the Panthers. Are the Panthers going to running clock everyone in the WRC? Tenderloins JV plays the second half.

The Woofs @ Seeger- The woofs have proven some points and have won some games. I think this game is the game for second place in the conference. I think Seeger is going to avenge their loss from last week and take it out on the 2nd best team in Parke County. Seeger is good, Salts throws the ball well and they have some really good athletes on the edge. I will say the Pats are going to win out their conference schedule. I'll take Seeger by two scores.

Covington @ SV - SV by as much as they want. I went to the FC / Covington game last week. Was the Covington qb that much of a difference maker? I thought the game would've been more competitive or is FC that much better? FC does play a competitive first three games. SV played NV close in the first half but took over in the second. Look for this week to be all SV all four quarters. Another big week running the ball for the Wildcats qb. SV 45 Covington 8

FC @ Attica - The Mustangs surprised me with a lot of things Friday. They played at a fast pace on offense and scored almost every time they touched the ball. The defense looked pretty good too. The only points they gave up was the jv running back coming in and Covington's starters stripped him for a TD. FC wins big again against a struggling Attica team. I'm hearing numbers are really low right now at Attica. I would have if they or any WRC couldn't have enough to play. Rumor is they only have 14 kids on the sideline last Friday. The qb and the Payne kid are tough. Dean will keep them fighting until the end. FC 54-6

NV @ RP - There used to be some bad blood between these two teams but I think that's in the past. The Panthers will get up early and pull their starters. They have done this the last two weeks and it's made those games look a little closer than they really were. When will the Panthers be tested? I don't know if they will be until late November. Panthers 63-12

PH  @ Seeger - Game of the Week - Two different styles of offense will battle it out but the defenses are very similar. I think both defenses play fast and tough. Both beat Attica fairly similar as well. I do think PH is slightly better defensively. Salts will throw and run the ball 20 plus times this game and will keep them it in. Game will come down to the last couple of possessions and I'm going to with the Wolves they start 4-1 since Moore in 2020. This will set up a classic Parke county championship in a couple weeks for #1 in the conference as well. Wolves 35-30

Covington @ SV - With five games left, SV needs to pick up a couple wins to get to .500 before season's end.   Anything less has to be a disappointment for the Wildcats.  Looking forward, I don't think they beat RP or Seeger and unless they draw WV in their sectional, it won't look good in most matchups as that sectional is loaded.   I don't see them having much issue with a depleted Covington this week.   SV - 49 Cov - 13

FC @ Attica -  As long as Willoughby and Batchelor are touching the ball as many times as possible, I think FC has a shot most weeks against the rest of their schedule.   This week will be the same.   FC 55 Attica 6

NV @ RP - Got to see RP in person on Friday.  They aren't super fancy at all, but #17 and their OL and DL are studs.  Seeger fought well and played hard but were simply outmanned.  I don't see RP or Seeger losing a game the rest of the regular season.  Seeger's passing game is easily the top in the conference.   RP 55 NV 12

PH  @ Seeger -  This will be for 2nd place in the conference.   I'll take Seeger, but only IF they can find a way to run the ball a little better than they did against RP.  RP was able to run 3 and 4 man fronts and sit guys in passing lanes to slow down the Patriots passing attack.  PH is much more balanced this year, which could create issues for Seeger run defense.    I'll take Seeger 32 PH 28

Finally got the WRC done. Thoughts? Do they look like what teams are wearing in 2026?

Your input is greatly appreciated!

Covington @ South Vermillion - The Mildcats win by as much as they want. I'm hearing their qb is the real deal in the running game. Have not seen him in person yet. I don't see Covington's problems being fixed anytime soon. Lowish numbers all across the board. When will they realize small 1a programs cannot have three fall sports for the boys.

FC @ Attica - I have also heard the Ramblers are low on numbers. That will not matter because they will play hard the whole time. Not sure if their problems will leave anytime soon either. Heard they had to cancel the junior high season due to numbers. Hopefully Dean can get some more kids soon.

North Vermillion @ RP - I love what Crum is doing at NV. This time next year this group will be clicking and scoring a lot of points. Hinchee is the second best thrower. Man he throws a good ball. Up front won't be able to hang with those Panthers. The Panthers will not be tested until at least semi state. Too big and too strong and too fast. RP 63 NV 6

Parke Heritage @ Seeger - Won't be as close as some of you may think. Seeger is much better than the Wolves. The qb will throw all over them and #2 will have a big game receiving.  Pats take this one 35-14
