While I agree with your sentiment, I don't think it applies in this case. The sectional lines are clearly hand-drawn, subject to interpretation and manipulation. It's 2019 - the technology exists that would allow you input school locations and minimize travel distances, removing all question and doubt about the process. Then, your statement applies. 2 Quote

BDGiant93 Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 So, I'd have to think BD is pretty happy with its draw after the last few years of what it had in Sectional and Regional. It's only a good draw though if you win, and Regional is pretty tough! Quote
Quads Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Anyone know why sectional 42 was changed today? Quote

Quads Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 Attica was moved to section 45 and Traders Point was moved into 42. Quote

Your sectional looks fairly solid.... But the Princeton/Gibson Southern one is pretty bad... Why not Princeton in Sectional 32 and move Southridge into 30? Or flip 30 and 31? I get that it is a tough task, especially if they hand draw these, but they do have the ability to balance them as best they can in terms of travel. I do not know how they specifically do them though. Quote

Gipper Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Nothing we can do about it now. I don’t think it’s the IHSAA’s intent to slight any team, but rather their quadrant model. Best of luck to all. Quote

Google shows barely over an hour from each of these schools to Edgewood. Is I-69 not open that way yet? Excuse my ignorance, don't get down there too often. 1 Quote

I've said it before, some teams will have some considerable distances to travel while others won't. I still don't feel any team was singled out. We all must be science nerds and accept this... itiswhatitis Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Sectional 40 won't be as tough now that Southridge has moved up to 3A. Mater Dei and Linton are still in there, but it won't be as strong without the Raiders. Quote
CoachSnyder Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 Twin Lakes will travel: 97 miles to Hammond Clark 1.7 hours 91 miles to Hammond High School 1.6 hours 80 miles to River Forest High School 1.5 hours 75 miles to Hanover Central 1.5 hours 86 miles to Calumet 1.5 46 miles to Knox 1hour 48 miles to Benton Central 50 minutes Plus ALL but BC are on Central Standard time. The GREAT thing is that we are in the tourney, playing schools we seldom see, and it is a great opportunity for the kids. Don't worry about travel or other things. Let the kids enjoy the moment and opportunity. That is what is important. Enough said. 2 Quote
