Back to football. East/Floyd should be an interesting game. Good offensive skill players for Floyd and East has has a slew of injuries on defense.  LB Tucker Schwarze our with knee injury since beginning of season.  LB TJ Barkhimer our with ankle injury.  LB Parker Harrison has  an injury and DB Crase Bergman has been out with Mono.  Hopefully the squad can rise up and control the line to stop the run.  If not could be interesting.

I thought Bark played last game? They mentioned his name numerous times last game on the radio. Parker Harrison will more than likely be a go for Friday night. I’m not playing the injury bug. Too many athletes on this East team. If East loses its because they were outplayed. I’m looking for a 3 score game Friday evening. Floyd is a good team, with a great running back. The O-Line is the only question I have on them. They can answer it Friday night.

Barkhimer is out for the year with a broken ankle.  They started a Freshman and Kai Stidham and Parker Harrison.  Parker is preseason All State and a key to that crew.  If he  can play it will be with a club hand and look for Mark McDonald to get some reps at LB too as he did last week.

East by 3 scores ( I do think Floyd is the 2nd best team in the conference) but I’m not here to play Lou Holtz and act like we are playing the New England Patriots each week. Just like the Jeff game that you thought would be competitive. Jeff and NA have a LOOOOOONG way to go, and Jeff’s coach def isn’t the answer

I don’t disagree with that.  I just thought Jeff had more talent than I had seen in the last several years which I think is true but they have zero discipline. Floyd has several positives but I do think their offensive line is small and hopefully East offense continues to score points in bunches.

I do think Floyd is much improved and have some great athletes. The problem in the past has been the O-Line not opening holes and giving the QB enough pass protection.

Agreed.  If they can run effectively and keep East offense on the sidelines it will help them immensely

Floyds O-Line isn’t small. Now, are they good enough to move Easts front? I’m not real convinced there. I do think that Defense and Pass Blocking are things that have improved under Coach Bragg that Brian Glesing didn’t seem to focus much on. I don’t think it will be a real competitive game Friday. 06 says 3 TDs. I’ll take that. That would be improvement.

Just curious? How significant are these injuries? I know a lot about their Offense but what does their D look like? Best players?

Tyler Settle is by far the best defensive player East has. East D is still very good. It’s a plug in and go when someone goes down. It’s always significant when a kid is hurt because nobody wants to see it. This East D is good enough to win a sectional at the 6A level.

Parker Harrison (which I believe will play) was a pre season all state defensive player as well.

I seen what they did against Pickerington. I didn’t need anymore convincing. That’s a legit defense.

I disagree with 06.  Settle is a great athlete but not the best defensive player.  That is Parker Harrison. He has 60 tackles and 4 TFL and a sack.  Safety cannot control the running game.  It is the line and backers.  Floyd will be successful if and only if they can run.  Barkhimer was second leading tackler and is a significant blow for the tournament as he is out.  Schwarze is a senior and a good player.  He may try to come back.  Bergman is best corner.  He may be back for this week.  Like i said, I am looking out to the tournament.  Also Harrison was the player of the game against Pickerington with 16 tackles and 2 TFL

This team is just fine FK, Fogerty is a parent so it’s his job to panic. No harm in that. Not a huge difference from what we will throw out Friday night.

Oh I understand. I expect them to roll out a strong team. Would be delusional to think otherwise.

I will say, that the most underrated unit in the Conference is Floyds defense. I’d venture to say it’s the 2nd best defense in the league. I’ve been more impressed with them than Floyds offense. That defense has carried them at times. They remind me of the Brett Szabo BNL teams. Good on defense and special teams. Do just enough on offense. I’m pretty concerned they’ll get off to another slow start Friday and you’ll look up and it will be 21-0. You just can’t fall behind that fast to East or it’s a long night.

Not panicking just stating facts.  Floyd is the only HHC team I think can pose a threat but more worried about Sectionals. I do believe we will be mostly healthy by then fortunately with the exception of Barkhimer.

You threw out numbers that can easily be skewed.. I can look at the 2004-2005 team and Stevie Brown was by far the best player on that team, but had much lower #’s because everyone went away from him. Again, we can agree to disagree

Agreed. I look for Floyd to come out with energy tho
