I highly doubt Kentucky needs seven classes. Very similar demographics and population as Indiana...

I have wondered about that as well.

I only see six, not seven classes in Kentucky.  But I can't figure out Tennessee.   Division I and Division II with a total of NINE state champions?

The Div. 2 championship game featured two one-loss teams … both of whom lost only to St. Edward this year.

Any surprise that CC beat Hoban?

South Range took it to Ironton in Div. 5 today. surprise? especially score?

Few more Texas games to add to the list that should really be good, and also a nod to a couple smaller schools....

Class 2A, Div. I

Crawford (13-0) vs Tolar (13-0)  Crawford rank 7 and Tolar 5 in TX coaches poll per Maxpreps.

Class 2A, Div. II

Mart (13-0) vs. Lovelady (12-0)  Mart rank 2 and Lovelady 7 in TX coaches poll per Maxpreps.

The school my kids went to played both Crawford and Mart over the years.  Mart is the textbook definition of a perennial football powerhouse.  Crawford not too far behind.  Like CG, they don't rebuild - they reload.  Mart spread but can run, balanced offense, insane speed and athleticism year after year.  Crawford will punch you in the mouth repeatedly and when you finally commit to defend the run immediately burn you with the long ball.  A couple years my kid's teams might have reached the finals if not for one of these two.

Class 4A, Div. I

China Spring (12-1) vs. Anna (13-0)  CS rank 1 and Anna 2 in TX coaches poll per Maxpreps.

My youngest played youth football in the China Spring youth system, they got some ballers.

Springfield took out Moeller in 2021 also, maybe it shouldn't have come as a surprise. Once can be called luck, twice can be called a pattern.

St. Edward Wins Rematch of 2021 State Title Game to Secure Back-to-Back State Championships

Canton, OH – Top-ranked Lakewood St. Edward won its sixth football state championship in school history after defeating fourth-ranked Springfield in the Division I state title game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on Friday night, 28-14.

St. Edward (15-1) was led by their defense as the Eagles' defense tallied nine sacks, a forced fumble, and 11 tackles for loss. Just as he did a year ago, senior defensive lineman Wyatt Gedeon led the game in sacks with 3.5.

The Eagles also were led by a strong rushing attack as St. Edward had 296 rushing yards as a team and had two players reach the triple digits mark.

Perspective can be everything. Positive if you are a St. Ed's fan/alumni, painful if you are a Notre Dame fan/Alumni. You are both @Bobref makes it pretty confusing! 😂🤣

I was anticipating this accomplishment. Coach Ginn and team. Having had a friend who played for a parochial in Cleveland (he was from a broken family and the sisters made sure he got directed to the right football school) and a friend who played at Massillon (both early 80's), I realized how big this title would be for Glenville and Cleveland.

Coach Ted Ginn Sr has people that have mixed feelings for him. Personally I commend Coach Ginn Sr. regardless what anyone feels about him. He has dedicated himself to the not so great areas of Cleveland being a Father Figure, Role Model, and Coach to manny less fortunate young men in both Football and Track & Field. I am extremely happy for him! They have been so close at Glenville and have finally accomplished it in Football! Aside from that the nickname "Tarblooders" is so awesome!
