In a previous post, I made the comment that there was potential for Michigan and Ohio State to play 3 times in one season.

I am willing to wager a few teams will not be there when the regular season is over.

Hope not for sake of the rivalry…

Want the Thanksgiving weekend matchup to maintain its intensity.

Penn State's is better

Both of you, please stop. There is only one helmet in college football that’s real gold.

You can be a fashion follower … or a fashion setter.

Like Penn State's Simple Perfection.

Not gaudy gold.

It is a classic, just like Bama, Texas. and USC.

Not related to current off season conversations, but I just saw this story on my feed. It seems there should be an exception made in this case. He was just 1 win away from eligibility.

Did anyone see UCLA HC DeShaun Foster's Big 10 media day statement??  Wow.....

Poor guy. He obviously froze. I don't wish that upon anyone.

There is nothing wrong with anything he said here. I have not been a fan of everything he has said since being hired, but nothing odd here. Were you expecting more of a "we are not very good" statement?

Nah, but have some humility and pay your dues.  Confidence is one thing but this false bravado and asking his players to cash checks he wrote is hysterical.

”We did it in the Sun Belt after being picked last…”

Well dude, OSU, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, etc are slightly better than Coastal Carolina, App State, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion.

I guess if you can’t be good, might as well be interesting.

40 years of coaching and he still has dues to pay? Interesting

Yep.  His biggest career win is a road win at a ACC bottom feeder Virginia.

This would be like Kevin O’Shea taking over at North Central and talk about winning state titles in year 1.

Oh wait…

This clown has some pretty expensive checks to cash…

https://youtu.be/UoPGcWsvP04?si=LL7iIDuvTQSk6cVG

So he's a "clown" for trying to change the culture?  What should he say...."we are here to start gettinh our a$$es kicked?"  He's trying to change the mindset of his program.  He didn't say anything wrong.  And a former UM standout certainly didn't take any issue with his comments.

https://www.journalgazette.net/sports/colleges/iu/ius-curt-cignetti-brings-brash-attitude-to-big-ten-media-days/article_67d6ba50-4ac1-11ef-83f0-f3d72d4d5baa.html

“What stood out? Curt Cignetti,” Big Ten Network analyst Jake Butt said during his recap of the third and final day of the event. “That guy, when he talks, I get fired up. He speaks with such passion.

“He even acknowledged it – maybe some people think he’s crazy. But if you’re in this business, if you don’t believe you can win, if you’re scared, find a different job. Indiana’s going to have an uphill battle, but that guy has won everywhere he’s been. I’m excited to see what he does with this roster because one thing’s for sure, he’s going to have those guys ready to compete every week.”

Crucially, while Cignetti admits that he is trying to capture attention for his team with his comments, his confidence is not an act. He truly believes his team is good enough to compete and win games in the Big Ten.

He’s a clown because he’s spouting out false bravado and arrogance in order to be interesting which I sort of respect.

Cultures are changed in the locker room, in the weight room and on the practice field, not from behind a microphone.

Yes, a clown.

I lived in the Old Dominion for years.  JMU used to be a money game for UVA and VA Tech.  They were FCS and not a very good FCS program.  Cignetti help drive them to become a FCS power then the jump to FBS.  They've only been in FBS a couple of years at a lower tier, so not sure how many FBS big wins he should have.  Bottom line, he has won at every level he's been, not to mention was an asst. coach at some outstanding programs.  He knows the formula to be successful.

BTW, I've been in Scott Stadium at UVA when they have had some pretty nice wins.

Schiano is very positive about him....

Thought we were past this…are wife jokes back on the table?

IDGAF if he has won at every level, he’s joining the BIG TEN which is better than it’s ever been and quite possibly is on the verge of becoming the best conference in America.

Look, I have never had a reason to cheer against Indiana football, I have always had sympathy for them to be honest.  This doesn’t change any of that, but it just seems like manufactured clickbait and a lack of respect/understanding for what he’s walking into.

His line about Indiana almost winning the Big Ten in 2020 had me rolling.

8 wins is actually attainable with that schedule though I’d place the over/under at 5.5.

I don't make jokes about wives..seem's "clownish" to me......  😉   Seriously, I figure if you can label someone you don't know, that you are also capable of taking the jabs.

I'd be happy for some solid improvement....but I have no problem for him setting a different vision.  He knows leaders tend to get the behavior they are desiring.  I love his comment about his team going out to LA and play.  That statement was for his team.

If I wasn’t capable of “taking the jabs” I wouldn’t still be here.

I'm hearing Florida State is seeking AAU Accreditation and a huge committment financially to research. I can't find a report verifying it it's to get into the Big Ten or just elevate the academic status of FSU. I bleieve Nebraska lost their AAU accreditation.
