This might have been discussed already here, but was there any thought by Memorial to voluntarily stay up in 4A before the reclassifications and season? Looks like they might have been better off making a deeper run in 4A than 3A this year.

Memorial thought they would be up in 4A this year, but since Memorial was in transitioning of hiring a new AD, no one knew about the Success Factor point change the IHSAA quietly made last summer. And caused a lot of confusion about it, right before the summer re-classifications. That’s all I know about the story.

I think we pretty much play where we are told to play. I can guarantee our Sectional gate share this year will be significantly higher than it was in 2023 when we were in 4A.

I think he would have, but he assumed Todd Wilkerson,  John Hurley and Mike Goebel had already applied.....I guess Hart will just have to struggle through at GS a little while longer......

I can pretty much guarantee you Hurley and Goebel have not and will not apply.

Defensive yards per game:   

Kinda crazy that Harrison had the best passing ypg, but the worst rushing ypg (this could be because teams could easily run on them so they rarely passed).   While Castle had the best rush ypg allowed, but the second worst passing ypg allowed.

The Harrison-Jasper round 2 game isn’t factored in the statistics (couldn’t find the Jasper stats), but Harrison’s passing defense YPG is probably lower by a few yards. Most teams did stay pretty consistent all season long. Bosse’s total defense YPG being top 5 surprised me, however, I’m missing about 2 games for that one.
 

Castle was consistently in the Top 2 for rushing defense all season long, that DL was stout. Funny thing is that 2023 Castle’s passing defense was in the Top 4 last season, but the run defense may have been the last team. And of course, it swapped this season.

Hearing from a very reliable source we are going to see some changes in the SIAC going forward with what schools are going to be involved. Can't say rumors of who but be prepared for an announcement very soon on some changes.

It's not a very well kept secret that VL wants out ...they've made that pretty well known. That would put the SIAC at 9 teams, with one opportunity for an out-of-conference. VL moving to our conference would even things out at 14 teams - but I'm petty - they didn't want in the first time around....sorry bout your luck. We (the PAC) extended our hand for the defunct Big 8 ....VL didn't want any part of it. So sorry bout ya.

From my sources: VL voted to be in the PAC in the initial invite meeting, however their was some certain decision makers wanted to keep the "rivalry" with Jasper alive. Thus leading to VL joining the SIAC
