  2. So the Bears are now paying 100% of the stadium construction, either in Indiana or Illinois? If so do you have a link to this recent information?
  3. Meh, I stopped reading when the author claimed the Bears are trying to get Illinois to build them a stadium. If you can't get that little piece of information correct, how can I trust the rest of your claims?
  4. One question is how hard will the SECSPN Network try to keep them from doing this? Once one conference does it, how quickly will others follow?
  5. Let’s hope the Chicago Bears stay in Illinois: https://indianacapitalchronicle.com/2026/07/20/lets-hope-the-chicago-bears-stay-in-illinois/ Agreed. A Chicago Bears stadium in Indiana is a losing proposition for Hoosier taxpayers.
  6. The not having to handle cash was given as a reason by school administrators for the change. That and the insipid "a lot of other schools are doing it so we should too" .........
  7. I consider you a loyal fan. And at some point, East will be winning again. Maybe not at the Gaddis level, but good enough to win Conference and Sectional Championships.
  8. This is really going to cut into their revenue. As a parent I can take my three kids to the game, give them each a $10, and not expect anything back. What I can’t do is give them each a debit card and I’m not going to make multiple trips down to the concession stand during the game. For an athletic department already facing a decrease in revenue at the gate, this seems like a very surprising decision.

  11. I’ve also heard some say it eliminates the ability for the cash to be stolen. The less hands you have handling your money the less people you have to worry about breaking your trust. Despite all of that, I still prefer the old school ways. The horror stories are so few and far between.
  12. The East fans were parents of players at the time or were fans that only hung around here when we were winning. I’m not going anywhere though. Not my style. I was here through all the winning and I’ll be here through the losing.
  13. At Gibson Southern week #2 Tri-West vs Reitz and Gibson Southern vs St Puis(MO)
  14. I can’t wait to get Bloomington South in this conference. For no other reason than we’ll actually have some fans in this thread. We used to have a lot of East and BNL fans on here, but besides Tundra, they’re all gone.
  15. I think this is less about a grand conspiracy to elimate cash than it is just being lazy. Now they don't have to do all the things necssary to manage a cash box and run to the bank. It's more about basic human effort.
  16. Young Man was on the field the next day for the IFOA clinic, LN vs Chatard, Bombers on the other end of field vs Speedway, he made sure he came over to dab up everyone on that end of the field and thanked them for getting work in this morning. Kind Presence he had
  17. Guess I will have to add them to the list of schools I will not patronize. How many kids have bank cards?
  18. I have heard updates on scrimmages about NV, Covington and FC. NV - qb is pretty good. They move the ball on almost everyone in their scrimmage. They have close to 30 kids out which is a huge comparing to last year. Crum seems to know what he is doing as the Falcons may not be as bad as everyone is thinking. Covington - look to be a dark horse and could see this team finishing behind RP in the conference. They have the athletes to beat anyone but RP. Times are changing Covington will not be a basketball school anymore. Coach Wheeler is doing the right things. FC - the younger Foxworthy brother is playing qb and looks legit. This team would have been scary good if the older Foxworthy did not get hurt. Happy people around FC right now.. we'll see how long that lasts.

  20. For those of us in the football world, that is a pace of 5.05 seconds for the 40. And there are 44 40s in a mile.
  21. At a pace of 16.2 miles per hour……incredible.
  22. Every year I think 😁
  23. Imitation is Flattery Per Joe Smith. He told me once I should go on the air. I give a "Well Don Let Me Tell Ya!" about once a week. I have known Joe all my life. He called ball games when I was in high school. He had me on with "Balls and Strikes" once and he called a number of games as a coach. When the South Siders, Edgewood, or Bloomington North came to town, I would always come out for pregame early so I could make the climb to the press box to say hello and catch up. Rest In Peace my friend! And Let Me Tell You! Gone But Never Forgotten! Your Friend MD
  24. Much of what the show was discussing. Ciggy was on right after the announcement.
  25. Just a sign of where IU football is now. 3 years ago, not a chance in Hell!!!
  26. If y'all here of anything let me know. I am slowly putting my 2026 schedule together, and I am hoping to cover at least 100 games again this season.
