  1. Past hour
  2. Tough two weeks for the stars as far as injuries go. Parker Kern (Starting WR) Grady Dalton (Starting LB) Brody Horton (Starting RB and LB) Ben Gratzer (Spelling) (Starting Corner) All out for the season, and major losses. For a group that had so many playing two ways, some young guys are going to have to step up for the stars. Pretty big game Friday night at Jeff IMO. Would assume it's for 2nd place in the HHC.
  3. Colts being sold out is irrelevant. NFL teams want their teams' game to be the only one on broadcast television, in their market, while they are playing.
  4. Speedhawk had a clean sweep of the board Week 2 He had Doggies, EC and L'burg all winning, it's true This week I'll make my pick of the slate Boring again, schedules not pulling much weight Give me the Pirates in a close game, maybe one score Connertucky the laughing stock of the EIAC once more Maybe in tennis or girls golf they'll shine If they ask for an exit, now might be the time... Finally! A game with some intrigue, Speedhawk is in love A battle of two titans looking for a shove EC comes off a big win in New Pal I think Elder brings them back to earth and hurts the morale Jo-Jos at Lions in a battle of cats, I bet we wait another week for the Lions Offense to put up some stats... They bad, they are brutal, they haven't seen a point To the bottom of the conference they go, stinking up the joint Tough week for the Knights, Boom couldn't jump a 2A The Doggies are conference, on the schedule they'll stay On the hunt for a win, Mardi Gras will take a lick Harder it gets, when Sisters of the Poor, you can't pick YellowJackets in Stinkcity for a Route 50 clash Kitties will run right over em, they'll hack and slash But it's not EC or 5a, so this one seems chalk Speedhawk sees his shadow 7 more weeks of running clock!
  5. East has a couple of big issues right now. 1. Turnovers. If we’re not leading the state in turnovers right now then we have to be close. We’ve committed 12 turnovers total (6 against Mooresville and 6 against Columbus North). We’ll see how that goes against HHC teams not named Floyd Central, but it’s something that has to be corrected in a hurry. Too many stupid mistakes. 2. Second half offense. Against Mooresville, we trailed 24-21 at the half. We lost 34-21. Against Columbus North, we were tied 14-14 at the half. We lost 42-14. So that’s 35 total first half points for an average of 17.5 first half points per game. In the second half, we’ve scored 0 total points. Not good. We’ve got to get our crap together.
  6. Always want to avoid appearing to do that
  7. Gibson Southern over St Pius X (Mo) 37-21
  8. I’m pretty happy about how Floyd Central has looked so far. I’ll try not to be overly complimentary about it because I don’t want to appear to be “jerking them off.” Yeah, I’m not sure what to think about New Albany? Providence really doesn’t look good at all. They got beat pretty good by Holy Cross. BNL has a pretty decent team. Jeffersonville and East could be frisky by the end of the season.
  9. Gibson Southern defeated Missouri state runner up St. Pius X. Reitz defeated tri-west. They did not play each other.
  10. He’s just trying to be a troll. It’s best not to feed them.
  11. Friday, Sep. 4 Connersville at Greensburg, 7 pm East Central at Cincinnati Elder (Ohio), 7 pm Franklin County at Rushville ©, 7 pm South Dearborn at Batesville, 7 pm Taylor (Ohio) at Lawrenceburg, 7:30 pm
  12. Today
  13. $7.90 at Frankfort, and I suspect most if not all high schools using a payment processing company like EventLink, instead of accepting cash.
  14. Standings After Week 2: PLACFan, WWFan-8 Sparks-6 JQWL-5 Ugminer-4
  15. Gibson Southern has better wins and losses than Heritage Hills.
  16. I don’t know which is worse, whinning by 37 or loosing by 1
  17. Jeffersonville earned the #4 spot with their 20-14 win at Seymour. The toughest part was choosing which team was #5. I put Seymour at #5 because they got down to the 7 yard line before falling just short on the last play against Jeffersonville. I know Lutheran has been an excellent team in 1A and 2A over the last decade, but a school the size of New Albany shouldn't lose to a school the size of Lutheran by 42 points. It feels like football is just something to do to pass the time at New Albany until basketball season starts.
  18. Completely agree with your comment about Floyd Central. I don’t think anyone touches them. As far as your rankings are concerned, I agree with 2 and 3. Not saying you’re wrong with the rest but I think 4 through 6 will be close. Or maybe Providence is going to have a really bad year and New Albany’s win against them wasn’t as impressive as we initially thought.
  19. 1. Floyd Central 2. Bedford North Lawrence 3. Columbus East 4. Jeffersonville 5. Seymour 6. New Albany Floyd Central is easily the best team in the Hoosier Hills Conference and will blow out every team in conference play this season.
  20. Week 3 Pick’em 🏈 West Washington - Probably not much of a game Paoli - I am never sold on Springs Valley with the strength of schedule they have. I could see Valley dropping several this season though. Crawford County - Toss up to me, I’ll take the Wolfpack Charlestown - Madison may be better than I expect but I am rolling with the Pirates here Floyd Central - most lopsided matchup this week. Floyd is a top 4-5 team in 5a and we are talking New Pal, Cathedral, Bloomington South in that mix. Brownstown - Always impressive when a 2a beats a 5a. Likely not too close either. Corydon - I am picking Corydon out of loyalty. I dont have a ton of confidence after the last 2 weeks. Not sure how they don’t beat Paoli with the roster they have. I am very timid in all Corydon selections going forward. (They “should” beat NH by 21+) Salem - I think this is a decent Salem team. I didn’t see the film vs SC but I know how much Scottsburg lost from last year and just think that Salem has a little more. Similar wins over NH… which, I don’t think says too much at this point. Maybe a close game but if the Warriors pull it out, I wouldn’t be surprised. Only reason I’m not at 14 is I was being a smartass with Brownstown last week 😅 lesson learned, make my picks and don’t make one of those against Reed May.
  21. The Tenderloins made a statement against a ranked team on the road. They’ve given up about 105 yards of total offense. They probably won’t be challenged until the regional round. No real big surprises except The Rubbers losing this week. Fountain Central @ Riverton Parke North Vermillion @ Covington Seeger @ Attica South Vermillions @ The Woofs
  22. Carroll (Flora) Clinton Central Clinton Prairie Delphi Eastern (Greentown) Sheridan Taylor Tri-Central
  23. Here's my take: Brownsburg Westfield Carmel Warren Central Center Grove Fort Wayne Carroll Lawrence North Avon Penn Crown Point Ben Davis East Central Bishop Chatard New Palestine Zionsville Bishop Dwenger Roncalli Hamilton SE Franklin Central Decatur Central Cathedral Merrillville Bloomington South East Noble Evansville Memorial
  24. Yesterday
  25. Anyone know the status of the Harrison player that was hurt in Friday's game? He was taken away in the ambulance. I'm speculating but it appeared to be neck/spine related.
