  1. I think the bigger issue is this: If schools only let students go back to school 2-3 days a week, how can a Superintendent justify going to practice 5 days a week? Here's an even better question: What about busing? No way they allow kids, or very many, to ride buses. Transportation is going to be a nightmare. The more questions you ask, the more questions that appear.

  2. the craziest thing about considering how we will be re-opening schools and such., ........going back to sports is.....................on March 12th the US had a total of 40 deaths. On March 13th we closed schools and ran out of the schools like it was the end of the world. We cancelled spring sports and graduations. At that time IN had just 12 cases. Now we are talking about going back to normal as the US has hit 92,000+ deaths and the state of Indiana has 1678 deaths and 28705 cases.

  3. Just from my perspective, I don’t see them wanting to play FC anymore, because they haven’t had any Athletic success against us recently. I can say the same for the other 2 River Schools against them. However, due to proximity, those might be teams they will want to keep. Jennings County as well. BNL is a LONG way away from Madison.

  5. Either you’ve got the worst analytical skills of anyone on the GID, or you’re engaging in a “self-fulfilling prophecy.” Fact is, I haven’t voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since I was in law school. I voted for the Libertarian candidate last time.

  7. Feelings are not hurt at all. I read the original feedback; disagreed with it and stated my reasoning for doing so. I gave you feedback on your feedback, and you keep responding. I am not complaining about it at all. I am simply clarifying the critical point in your feedback. You claimed there was bias in who I choose to give feedback to. I pointed out the flaws in your thinking (feedback). That is it; nothing more. I am a moderator; so now you and Howe get to set the standards for how moderators are supposed to behave? As I replied to him, Muda is a moderator as well. You gonna call him out too?

  8. https://www.chicksonright.com/blog/2020/05/19/nbc-news-reporting-barack-obama-will-not-attend-portrait-unveiling-until-trump-out-of-office/?fbclid=IwAR03_8wTWqlpcvA7gsHqQNSZKuCQfjbdYCVy0qFUR4LZl2rct2L_r0_RD3M Former President Barack Hussein Obama will reportedly forgo visiting the White House for the unveiling of his official White House portrait until Donald Trump is out office, according to NBC News. If that means waiting until 2025, that is what he will do. Obama has apparently had a change of heart since 2012, when he said this at George W. Bush’s unveiling: “We may have our differences politically, but the presidency transcends those differences.” Honestly, even if Obama were willing to attend, I should hope Trump would not host him. It appears increasingly likely that Obama was involved in spying on Trump and sabotaging him and his incoming administration on the basis of lies about Russian collusion. Talk about breaking traditions! I am more concerned with traditions on peaceful transfers of power than about portrait unveilings. BHO's true colors are coming out.

  9. For someone that really does not care about the various things I have mentioned, you sure have spent a LOT of time responding. Again, I am not the only one who singled him out; yet you chose to provide "feedback" for me......but cannot handle it when I respond in kind. And yet, I am the one who may have to give up my man card....laughable at best.

  10. There are a few differences that make this less likely of a direct tie-in. Universities that are potentially planning to return to the campus, like Purdue, at the start of the fall are also wrestling with many different items that high schools and elementary schools won't have the ability to do. For example, one discussion that happened in a meeting that I was in on was a discussion of possibly expanding the class offering to be able to split class sizes given room constraints. They discussed that might include adding sections to night schedules and possibly even Saturdays. I suspect that most high schools/elementary schools won't have that option. Also, a big part of the concern that I've heard expressed is how do you protect more vulnerable populations from less populations when both are needed to do face-to-face classes. In a university setting, some of that is already the nature of the beast. If a faculty member teaches two courses in a week for 3 credits each, then an older faculty member has a maximum of six weekly contact hours from classroom instruction for exposure. If you are a high school teacher that teaches five courses a day for an hour per class, you have 25 hours of direct weekly exposure. Even if you cut classes in half, the high school teacher has a minimum of twice the potential exposure of a university faculty member. While universities and high schools are both in the education field, the logistics and situations have a large enough number of differences that make it less of a likelihood that if one does it others will follow.

  16. These two I like. Yes my avatar looks like a changed version of Pioneer, but I'm an AC guy as most of you know. My avatar was a helmet my stepson and I came up with as we wanted to set it up for NCAA Teambuilder but we never got it on there. The inspiration for the avatar was being a Michigan fan and we incorporated the Chargers lightning bolt as the created team was to be the Power. Anyway, I believe South Adams had some cool yellow helmets back in the late 90s or early 2000s that were pretty cool as well.

  17. So you are saying that bringing in New Prairie, Culver Academy, and South Bend St Joseph will increase the D1 football talent pool? Hate to burst your bubble, but, overall a little over 7% of high school athletes (about 1 in 14) went on to play a varsity sport in college and less than 2% of high school athletes (1 in 54) went on to play at NCAA D1 schools. Being a D1 college athlete is more than just showing up to practice. There is a lot of commitment to playing a collegiate sport. Let alone football! High school football declining is not just occuring in Indiana. Yeah, high school football participation dipped in Indiana. Fewer and fewer high school athletes are playing football across the country each year and, after initially bucking the trend, Indiana is no exception. Football participation was down 3.4 percent in Indiana for the 2017 season, from 21,589 players in 2016 to 20,849, according to the 2017-2018 High School Athletics Participation Survey conducted by the National Federation of of State High School Associations. It's not just in football, its essentionallt all over the place. There are only so many kids and the opportuniities for kids to play sports keep expanding. There are also fewer kids playing multiple sports. Kids have started to specialize now more than ever . . . . if you could the average Indiana high school has probably somewhere between 18-20 sports. Kids are specializing in volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, etc. And, yeah, it happens at big schools. Football has, indeed, suffered a decline in Indiana, however, due to some recent studies, there has been increase in the number of high school athletes. From 2016-17 to 2017-18, there was an increase of just over 1,000 participants. In line with Ultimate Warrior, you need more than just a few lines of looking at rosters and state tournament success. Might I suggest DT that you do some homework and report back when you have something solid to report. As always, the game is better from_the_sidelines007

  20. What’s the matter? You can call someone out, but don’t like the feedback you get in return? hmmmmmm....sounds familiar. Either accept the feedback that YOU are selective or don’t. Are you going to try and say you are balanced In who you call out? I have not seen it. I am not the only one that has called him out for his tone here, yet you single me out, and I only see you go after one or two other members other than me recently. I provided examples of times I have called others out. It is you that decided to shift the goal posts with the added terms of recently and in the last few days. And the fact is, you even made reference to post I made about the tone of name calling, and yet you still feel I am selective, and even avoiding calling out friends here. The fact is that is not accurate at all.

  24. Coronavirus hype biggest political hoax in history The new coronavirus is real. The response to the coronavirus is hyped. And in time, this hype will be revealed as politically hoaxed. In fact, COVID-19 will go down as one of the political world’s biggest, most shamefully overblown, overhyped, overly and irrationally inflated and outright deceptively flawed responses to a health matter in American history, one that was carried largely on the lips of medical professionals who have no business running a national economy or government. https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/28/coronavirus-hype-biggest-political-hoax-in-history/

He is referencing a comment I posted on Saturday regarding the fact that updated Indiana State Department of Health coronavirus data reflects approximately 99.995% of Indiana residents have not tested positive for the coronavirus. Some people get very upset when they discover approximately 0.00405% of Indiana residents have tested positive for the coronavirus.

  36. Dr. Daniel Wallace, a board-certified rheumatologist practicing at Cedars-Sinai medical center in Los Angeles, wrote that “hydroxychloroquine is a very safe drug” and has been given to “tens of millions” of people around the world since it was approved 65 years ago “and as monotherapy has not been associated with any deaths in the recommended dose.” Wallace wrote, “In 42 years of practice, no patient of mine has ever been hospitalized for a complication,” “He’s not alone. A lot of his colleagues agree with him,” Oz said. “When I spoke to [Dr.] Didier Raoult, the famous infectious disease specialist from France. He’s now acquired 1,000 patients on the combination of the hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. “He also says the complications have been trivial, things like rashes, any minor issues, but this man was born in Africa and knows this drug very well because of the malaria he has faced in his practice and he says there's been a billion doses prescribed,” he said. “It's not what they worry about, but Dr. Wallace said what was interesting and might catch the attention of the viewer is that in their protocols, they don't ever mention complications from hydroxychloroquine because they are so uncommon,” https://www.cnsnews.com/article/national/melanie-arter/dr-oz-complications-hydroxychloroquine-were-trivial-rashes https://attunehealth.com/our-staff/dr-wallace/
