  1. Not related to current off season conversations, but I just saw this story on my feed. It seems there should be an exception made in this case. He was just 1 win away from eligibility. https://247sports.com/article/mike-leach-absolutely-deserves-college-football-hall-of-fame-spot-despite-ineligibility-lincoln-riley-says-232922689/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2KFx1fMnmOaAHX-ViVar_MMwgB8VdQvO1dLnIVy4VqZqal7lh7xBinmzs_aem_ZmFrZWR1bW15MTZieXRlcw

  2. It's funny I've been on this forum since many of you were in diapers. Haven't posted in years. Just been a long time fan and observer. Outside of Warren, BD, CG and Carmel can any of you prove that the word irrelevant isn't true for the pretenders? Not one of you can. Those 4 schools own 6A and Penn being the only big school in the conversation and they have been irrelevant for way too long. Since the pathetic IHSAA won't seed the big schools. we will continue to get the results we have gotten. Indy champ and some northern chump as runner up. It's never going to change. I compare it to the Carmel girls swimming dominance. Not one team outside of the Indy metro area will ever win a 6A title. Prove me wrong. Original forum poster.

  4. To my dismay, we are no longer a "wishbone team". Still heavy on the run, but seldom run the wishbone. When we need a yard....guess what we run...

  5. Using Lake County as an example, in 2023 the salary range for Deputy Prosecutors (the guys who actually try the cases) was from $87K - $137K. Assuming the top end guys are the ones trying the big felony cases, a top flight criminal defense lawyer in a decent sized urban area would make several times that. Of course, there are also advantages to being a prosecutor: you don’t have overhead, there are no worries as to whether you’ll get paid, and for the most part, you have a better client to work for.

  8. Not sure about the golf course, but I do remember that...trying to cut the corner by going over a portion of the stadium.

  9. Great point regarding the 3 point shot and JW...can one imagine Pistol Pete's college scoring stats had the 3 point line been in place?? https://www.yardbarker.com/nba/articles/pete_maravich_was_incredibly_making_13_threes_a_game_before_the_three_point_line_existed_he_would_have_averaged_57_points_per_game_in_college_if_it_did/s1_16751_38289787

  10. Its a good point.... Further point mid majors turning into a feeder system for the big schools. ISU baseball team, a top NCAA program, is losing players to big time programs. 2 already left for LSU, others for Clemson, Oregon and IU. 15 others currently in the portal.... Sigh....

  11. How many on here are old enough that they actually saw him play? I did. He was arguably the best player in the league at his position for several years. The first great shooter I can remember seeing. If the NBA had a 3 pt. line when he played, he’d probably be the all time career points leader.

  12. Yes it is a crap hole. Needs natural grass. Does it still have a golf course that surrounds it? I remember during my ISU days going there to play a round of golf and instead of you know, actually trying to get the ball in the hole we took turns seeing how many balls we could drive into the stadium onto the field.
