  1. Bobref is correct. A big portion of the NFHS revenue is selling rule books so they don't provide them for free. The iHSAA distributes them to licensed officials as part of their dues every other year. I believe they provide them to coaches as well. But the IHSAA purchases them from the NFHS. They also provide us access to the NFHS portal that has a digital version that is only available through their app or the portal site.

  2. Are you talking about playing rules, or things like IHSAA tournament rules? The IHSAA does not publish playing rules. The National Federation does. You can order the hard copy here https://www.nfhs.com/p-1414-2024-football-rules-book.aspx?CategoryID=0&SectionID=0&ManufacturerID=0&DistributorID=0&GenreID=0&VectorID=0& I’m not sure how a non-official gets an electronic copy. As for a free online rulebook, the NF rulebook contains the following: “© 2020, By the National Federation of State High School Associations. Neither the whole nor any part of this publication may be copied or reproduced and/or translated without first obtaining express written permission from the publisher. Republication of all or any portion of this publication on the Internet is expressly prohibited. Published by the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATIONS”

  3. NC is easily the premier athletic program of what’s left of the MIC despite all of the ways they are shortchanged in football on here. They are state level quality in multiple sports. Currently: BD is elite in football and boys basketball. Warren is elite in football, girls track and wrestling. LC is elite in girls basketball. LN is elite in boys and girls basketball and wrestling. Pike is pretty mediocre across the board. I’m sure I am missing a few but not many. Football is one of the few sports in which NC is NOT ranked.

  4. I'd agree. In my day, the main things BD was known for was their excellent band program and their radio station that gave us the Calabro Brothers and Kristi Lee :)

  6. According to Twitter, looks like Moore is the new OC and QB coach.

  7. With the mercy rule in play, I don't want to see 50-0 halftime scores anymore. I want to see teams take a knee when they get close to the endzone. Some teams already do do that, hence a flawed Sagarin system. All in all though, I do appreciate what Sagarin brings to the table. And I do appreciate the work you put into the rankings Temp.

  8. Growing up in 1a at Linton for most of our years...most of my good friends, fellow broadcasters and coaches were all 1a. Had some great convo's through the years.

  9. And they were up 50-0 at halftime against Penn in the 5A championship game.

  10. I will agree it is hard for me to not place 2006 or 2003 Warren Central teams among the top. I watched the 2003 Warren Central team absolutely obliterate 2002 and 2003 Ohio Div 1 State Champions Cincinnati Elder 45-20 at the Ryle Classic in Ryle KY. That 2003 WC team let their guard down and lost to Carmel and a shocker to LN. The 2006 WC team though were dominant, hard to believe that was 18 years ago.

  11. I am not so sure I would say 2015 wasn't a strong year in 6A. Center Grove's Titus McCoy was a fantastic RB. There were some terrific games in the South Bracket that year. Cathedral (in 6A at the time) lost in 2 OT's 37-34 in a great game to Brandon Peters led Avon at Avon and Center Grove edged out Warren Central 24-13. Then Center Grove in 2 OT's squeaked by Brandon Peters (Indiana Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the year) led Avon 35-34 at Center Grove. Back to back double OT games for Avon. In the North you had Penn upset a 2 loss Carmel team (Cincy LaSalle and Center Grove) at Penn. Penn lost to CG 28-16. CG and Carmel reloaded and played for State the following year with Camel besting CG in OT 16-13 in a great game. I would say it was a strong year in 2015 for 6A just a little more parity and not one team showing total dominance.

  12. Controversial opinion but I’ll take the 2017 BD team… I can’t take a look at football highlights from any level before the mid 1990’s and say with a straight face those teams could keep up with the strength and speed of today’s athletes. I’m sure that’ll hurt feelings.

  13. To me, a commitment is a contract. If these kids aren't in a legally binding contract, why even call it a commitment at all? What constitutes a commitment? What are kids actually signing when they commit? I honestly think half these kids are just attention seekers.

  14. Give me the 2006 Warren Central team over any HS football team to ever play in the state of Indiana.

  15. Keep shifting those goalposts. You said they hadn’t won anything, lol. The expansion of the west side has hardly affected BD FOOTBALL, for sure. Other than that, just stop with the nostalgia please. Success in the non-ball sports follows the money, it’s not hard to figure out.

  16. Temptation hit the nail on the head. You can't compare Ben Davis now to how things were in the 90's...................C'MON MAN.
