  1. Why would anyone refuse to donate because they were asked to do so by a certain person, or asked in a certain way? The only real question is “Are you willing to help financially support the mission of the GID, or not?”

  2. New York football Giants 45, Indianapolis non football Colts 33. It has to be one of the most embarrassing losses since the Colts moved in 1984!

  3. Well, if I recal, you singled some people out publicly. I'm a believer that nothing good comes from that. You're better off sending private messages to posters. But if you much say something publicly, address everyone, not just a few. For example: Dear Members, If you haven't made a donation in the past 12 months, the GID would greatly appreciate your generosity. To put into perspective, a date night at the movies with your significant other cost's $30 and it's over in two hours. The GID provides entertainment for some of us 365 days a year. A minimum donation of $30 doesn't seem like too much to ask. Thank you for being loyal members of the club and thanks in advance for your donations. You know, something like that. But that's just me.

  4. I think that's the issue that the guy with the Facebook site didn't quite grasp.

  5. When the Girl Scouts, Ron in this case, come to my door and try to sell me cookies, their sales pitch determines how many boxes I’ll buy. Deep down I know it’s for a good cause and that my donation (or lack thereof) will not make or break their finances. The GID has a leadership problem. There are some good dudes that moderate, but the pathetic mud slinging, name calling, and gang mentality, combined with the elitism rubs me the wrong way. Too many wannabe chiefs and not enough Indians. And the wannabes get a longer leash than the Indians. Now, I could just pack up and leave (which I’m sure will be many’s suggestion upon reading this post) but I enjoy the friendly banter and talking football with the majority of the posters on here. My style may come across as abrasive or rub people the wrong way but I’m not particularly worried about people’s feelings, particularly when discussing a non-life or death subject like football.

  6. I'll be watching it live. I couldn't sleep knowing that game is going on! I stayed awake for the 2016 Cubs World Series win, and I had to be up at 5AM for my part time job. I slept good after work though.

  7. 1. I'm not sold that the SEC is the best conference this year. How battle tested are they? 2. Hard for me to rebuttle that. 3. I kind of think so. I wouldn't place a bet on the OSU/Oregon game. I have it dead even. But I would put money on the Irish beating Georgia.

  12. That’s at least 365 days. ANYWAY to narrow it down? Who’s being political now? Calling me “riiiiiiiight”. Come on, you know you want to laugh at this one. I love Indiana Jones

  13. The defense just couldn't cover or tackle anyone today. It was the Giants third win of the season, and their first at home. They were averaging less than 14 points a game before today. The Colts had no business being in the playoffs anyway.

  16. Totally agree...I really like both Coach Monken and Coach Newberry. Seems like they are perfect fits for the academies.

  19. Good question https://fansided.com/army-and-navy-made-history-this-year-despite-falling-short-of-cfp Looks like it is the first time both teams recorded double digit season victories in the same season. Tremendous seasons by both academies. Love the pregame interview with Coach Monken before the kickoff last night....the Army coach said they had a bad taste in their mouths from eating a SH*T sandwich in their loss over Navy and had to get that taste out of their mouths. They looked much better in their bowl game....more like the team that won the American Athletic Conference.

  20. Don't need your reminder. You have a way of making posters not want to donate. I get it, you're trying to do the right thing, but there's something off about your approach. When someone donates, they don't want to think it's because gonzoron pressured them to do so. So again, change your approach before you start having a negative impact on the financial health of the Gridiron Digest. Enjoy your Sunday, God Bless.

  21. I haven't been offended too much since I divorced my first wife back in 1967. And I giggle quite frequently, it helps me stay sane.

  22. No, unfortunately that's not the case in this instance. People who've been kicked out before sometimes sneak themselves back in.

  24. Making fun of whom? How in the hell am I supposed to know someone’s age on here? You seemed to get more “offended” by my post than he did which says something. Taking a deeper look, there are 25 topics on the main page and I have posted in 4 of them…”literally every thread” is nowhere close to accurate. What have YOU added to this current thread? Do you own a mirror?

  25. Nah, just seems juvenile to call someone whom you’ve never met names on an Internet forum, that’s all. You’ve never “seen” me. I may not like your posting style (and you might not like mine) but the tough guy/name calling nonsense is pretty weak on your part. At least Ron has the decency to put me on ignore (even though he removes it at times to throw jabs). Be better.
