  1. Thanks for posting this. It helps to remind us that, while the vast majority of these kids will not go on to play football at a higher level, they are certainly poised to be good members of the community at higher levels.

  3. Conference championship games are this weekend, so it’s not too early to start talking about the big game. And we’ll start off with some really great news. The Indiana Football Officials Association’s own Kevin Brown is the replay official’s on the game. Way to go KB!

  4. Pretty good Irish representation on both sides of the ball. BTW, I received good news from my cardiologist today. It seems some tests I've had to endure have paid off and I'm relatively heart healthy for a person of my age. I guess God isn't ready for me yet.

  5. Excellent tone from Coach Johnson and I do believe that McCaskey finally has listened to football people, Warren and Poles and this is why Coach Johnson CHOSE the Bears and no where else. Loved his tone and how he looked directly to the players in attendance, "BE READY TO BE COMFORTABLE BEING UNCOMFORTABLE". Hey Hey. Thats a start Loved his answer to a question about pitfalls as a 1st time HC, talked about his plight to the HC, 7 years in Miami and 6 in Detroit, he. pointed out those were not necessarily all flowers in those jobs and he saw not only how good works, but MORE importantly what it looks like on the opposite end, felt authentic in that answer Time to go to work

  6. Absolutely Coach Gilbert spearheaded this new recogniztion a few years ago when he was at Westfield Great stuff and tremenndous list of awesome things our football teams/players have done in their respective communities I know when I am at the state board meetings going on almost a decade and half, they have made sure to recognzie folks who are going above and beyond and not pigging back on Eagle Scout or other service club type things. Good Stuff

  7. Not sure how long you've been on GID or understand the history, but public funding of sports facilities and belief in God are 2 areas that bring out passion in Muda. Be warned of the rabbit hole you are entering.......

  8. Clip from Article: "He previously was part of the staffs of Bluffton, Muncie Southside, Evansville Reitz and Brownsburg.... Yoder was the Tigers' defensive coordinator last year and also worked in the school as weight room and engineering teacher at LHS. As part of staffs at previous stops, Yoder has shown versatility of coaching on both sides of the ball. He was Associate Head Coach, Co-Offensive Coordinator, and Co-Defensive Coordinator at Brownsburg High School, and has experiencing coaching offensive line, outside linebackers, running backs and defensive backs."

  9. I don't know Johnson a top 5 corner and locked up in contract. I'm holding Beat guys I trust the most as they are there daily. And for some Years. Good ones hold teams accountable, bad ones are cheerleaders. Watching some Detroit meltdowns has been fun. I just don't see need to draft Skill guy until round 3 or later. See the stats Detroit put up without Gibbs posted in this thread. Still top 5

  10. He’s not even in the same stratosphere as Gibbs and I like Jeanty. Jeanty to me is too similar to the other back they have, Johnson maybe

  15. from the man himself https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/notre-dame-coach-marcus-freeman-defends-controversial-fourth-quarter-fg-decision-in-cfp-loss-to-ohio-state/#:~:text=So%2C if it was a,didn't make it."&text=Freeman's logic is sound when, defense has been this year. "Instead of being down 16, let's try to go down 13," Freeman said. "I know it's still a two-score game, but you have better -- a better probability of 14 points [sic] than you do 16 points. So, if it was a shorter fourth-and-goal situation, I probably would have gone for it but I just felt fourth-and-9 was not a great chance for us to make and I decided to kick it and we didn't make it." Ive been known to round down

  16. If you listen to the Hughes fellas from Da Bears Blog, Coach Johnson was given assurances that Warren/McCaskey were 100% out of player decisions. Time will tell on the press conference and if they say the same thing. I have seen McCaskey in the North Lot, he doesn't come to us low lifes in the 31st lot !!! Seems like they are starting to get everything alinged..... fingers crossed And yes, I am fine cleaning house if need be for Coach Johnson. from what I have seen thus far, HC Johnson, DC Allen and bring in the Special teams coach who was interim for the Saints to come with Allen and the OL coach from Detroit. Who knows if true yet

  17. This is why I avoid countering a point you make purposely. You throw things into a discussion that people do not say. I was not speaking in a literal sense, and you know that. Have fun with the rest of your conversation. EXACTLY!!!!

  19. Was coaching a game against Plymouth many years ago....this was one of those years that the rubber bracelets the guys wore were a point of emphasis. We kicked off to them, as they lined up for their first play from scrimmage....just as everyone came set there was a flag thrown....NOTHING had happened yet. I was standing next to the linesman on our side and made a comment out loud to the effect of "What the heck was that...nothing has happened yet?"...on his way out onto field linesman says over his shoulder "I'll tell you in a second, you won't beleive it." Apparently, before pregame Coach Barron had made a big deal to his guys about making sure they all were uniform legal, specifically mentioned the bracelets. During pregame one of their best players is out there with several of them on. So Coach Barron told the crew...."I want to you to flag that kid on the first play." (Which technically is a flag on Barron I believe? @Bobref?) They did so, and that kid never saw the field after that....and again, he was one of their better players. My favorite John Barron story.
