Can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve had a free Friday night during the postseason with plans to watch Brownstown only to find out their game is away every single time. Wanted to go last night but it was in Linton. Wanted to go next week but it’s in Lapel. Lame.

Since you had to send this before you even rolled into bed last night...I'll take the bait, but first a few corrections. Evansville Memorial and Mater Dei are in the SIAC. Rochester is 4A in IL and has won nine state championships and rolled the competition under head coach Derek Leonard. These championships were won between 2010 and 2023, including a perfect 14-0 season in 2023. GS has played the best 3A competition in the state. Sagarin has the Cacade strengh of schedule at 181 and GS at 99, Sagarin also has Cascade something like a 5 point favorite at home. Massey has Cacase as a 1 point favorite. GS lost their All State QB for the season last night. Given that Cascade has STEAMROLLED the little sisters of the poor....and given the current circumstances...they should roll to a Semi-State victory Saturday at 6:00CST at home.

As good as 3 is, and he is a hell of a player, 11 is a warrior.

Jaidon VanPelt. He's the kid that was absent during the Week 1 HSE game. He has no star rating, why is beyond me. I'd make an awful scout apparently. Several MAC offers and is being looked at by IU, but no offer from the Hoosiers yet. Remember when I referred to the kid who "torched" CG with three big touchdowns? The kid is legit. I've seen my fair share of high school football over the years. He's just as good, if not better, than some kids out of Fort Wayne who've gone Power 4.

Andrean beat a very game Southmont team in a game that had a little of everything. 1) A blocked punt that went beyond the neutral zone, muffed by a member of the kicking team and recovered by the kickers for a 1st down, even though short of the line to gain; 2) snap over the shotgun QB’s head, muffed repeatedly by members of both teams and recovered in the end zone by the defense for a TD; 3) long kickoff return TD to open the 2nd half; 4) a long pick 6. i was very impressed with the Southmont following. Their crowd was huge for a 2A school that traveled 100+ mi. to get here. Very enthusiastic. It would have been even better if they’d left home the half dozen or so jackwads who spent most their time profanely abusing the officials. FYI, I was there to observe and evaluate the officiating crew. And I can tell you they had a game that was worthy of the upper levels of the tournament.

I'll take it! Going for a rare chance of 5 state appearances in a row was a far fetched fantasy when we lost all those semi states before 2000 and all those between then and 2021. That 2003 game still haunts me. When we look back in a few years, we will appreciate how great this era has been for Adams Central football. Heck Adams County football with SA in 2020 followed by AC 2021 through 2024. 2nd year in a row both AC & SA are playing in the semi state.
