My latest blog as a retired head football coach that has transitioned into authorship. I feel blessed that forums the Grindirondigest.net allow me to share my blogs. The coaching fraternity is special. Hope you enjoy. RG https://www.ronglodich.com/author-blog/xwe73ge6urrqdzb07kiuriw3hk2xtj3 points

I'm skeptical as well....feels like its an "option" driven to put pressure on the city of Chicago/state of Illinois. Would love to know what opinions were shared by Goodell.2 points

I compared the DOE numbers I posted from 2024 to the IHSAA enrollments that were used for classifications prior to the current cycle. Out of 403 schools, all but 19 of them were the exact same number used by the IHSAA as the DOE reported enrollment. The schools that were not the same number were mostly urban schools that likely have to count students that may not attend the member school but are eligible to participate with the athletic teams of the member school. The South Bend public schools, Evansville public schools, and the two Bloomington public schools accounted for 11 of the 19 schools that had a different number between DOE & IHSAA. I did not include the Warren Online Academy in the enrollment for Warren Central in 2024, which accounted for the difference between DOE & IHSAA for Warren Central. I forgot to add the WOA number to Warren Central again this year. Decatur Central was one of only two schools that actually had a lower number for the IHSAA than they report to the DOE. Their DOE number was 2050 but their IHSAA number was 1883. The other 6 schools with different numbers were relatively small differences - +13, +4, +2, +1, +1, and -1.2 points

New Haven is actually up. We have been climbing steadily in enrollment for a while now. We are listed at 1068 on the IHSAA site for this current cycle and ranked 95th, but 1117 now. We may even be higher for a February count. We were ranked number 111 in the 15-16 cycle, 106 in enrollment in the 17-18 cycle, 100 in 19-20, 95th with 1064 from 22-24 cycle. This year we are ranked 88th. There is a LOT of construction of housing editions as well as an apartment complex (I am sure there will be a split between FWCS and EACS there as it is a gray area as far as where kids can go) going on in town too. Not sure we will be able to handle the increased population it will all bring to the area as far as our building size goes.1 point

That's hilarious. I'd love to see Izzo get one more title before he retires. I've never heard a bad word about the guy. One head coach personally told me that the difference in character between Izzo and Crean is night and day. Also heard good things about him from a local business person and a massive Notre Dame donor who knew him personally.1 point

Again..... You don't understand the depth of this, it goes deeper than just a words Its changing the culture and mindset and if he said a naughty word and makes his team believe the way he believes and that will continue to grow, why is this so hard for the IVORY TOWER ( you like that @Muda69 ) the Packers and the NFC North has had for damn near 3 decades Tides are turning Our Coach is not going to back down END OF STORY Status QUO was NOT WORKING And I vehemently disagree when you guys want to invoke that great George Halas would NEVER stoop to classless levels as Ben Johnson, I just simply pointed out that Coach Halas did something that would be the same disrespect but he did 5 mins before the game and knocked on the locker room door. But hey ........ he didn't say F.... he said A...... SMH So knocking on the opposing door of the opposing coach to tell him his team is going to get their ass kicked by his team is fine because he was respect tone?? Which how would ANY of us know how that conversation was taken? Also, how do any of you know what actual issue he has with Coach Lafluer? perhaps the years in Detroit has something to do with it? This is so comical I cannot stay away. Ive tried. so much I've tried. too funny not too1 point

Cignetti keeps coming up. I cannot see him leaving. He has even said he is retiring at IU. His advantage at IU is having a team of veteran players with the average age of 23. That type of thing is not really an advantage he would have in the NFL. I am a bit bias too though. But IU has shown they are willing to pay whatever is necessary to keep him in Bloomington.1 point

As am I. These forays into NWI are just leverage and scare tactics aimed towards various legislative bodies in Illinois, at the local and state level.1 point

Such an investment could really make a difference in an area that needs it desperately.....that is why politicians on both sides of the aisle will support.1 point

Sorry...bad choice of words. Rant perhaps? I'm actually less about the locker room and more about the behavior leaving the field. So its asking too much to look another man in the eyes, shake his hand, congratulate him and his team on the season? Its asking to much to win and lose with grace? As I stated, I would understand more if LeFleur had caused issues with Johnson in the past, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I am no psychologist, but to have disdain for someone, simply because they are a competitor, to the point you can't demonstrate an ounce of respect after competition....well that's head scratching to me. We don't see this often especially in the professional ranks, and I think we expect more out of men...men that are role models. Heck, players that have beat on each other during the game, acknowledge each other, shake hands, trade jerseys, pray together, etc. I get your a big fan of Coach Johnson, but doesn't mean you shouldn't expect better from a coach leaving the field. I've said enough...guess we shall agree to disagree.1 point

I've sat on a 5 gallon bucket in a janitor's closet right beside a locker room. Does that count? Heard quite a few Dick Dullaghan halftime 'talks'.1 point

“The true test of a man’s character is what he does when no one is watching.” ― John Wooden Or in a "private place", whatever that means in this context. Having microphones and cameras in a locker roof hardly makes it private now, does it?1 point

Versus an organization that has absolutely owned you for the last 30 years So, yea, I am 1000000% ok with the leader of my beloved be authentic and if you do not think his choice to conduct the business the way he has has not led to winning 7 games in under 2 mins to go and the list goes on, the realm of changing EVERYTHING in Halas Hall then do not know what to tell you Ben Johnson is not going to allow the Packers to do as they please like the previous regimes...... the horror1 point

Hard to believe we’re debating the use of profanity in the locker room after a huge, emotional game. This wasn’t during a postgame presser. He was with his team in their private place. Nothing to see here. Move along.1 point
