  1. Although it's hard to deny that Concordia is a good fit for the ACAC, Tim Mannigel posted a 34-33 record in the SAC the eight years prior to him taking a year off from coaching. Playing in the competitive SAC helped propel them to four sectional titles during that time. They went 4-26 the four years after his return. I'm wondering why the Cadets are having so much difficulty returning to form. If they do get back on track, Adams Central's stronghold on the ACAC could be in jeopardy. That being said, I'm in favor of the move. I'm looking forward to seeing a third non-conference game for the rest of the SAC.

  2. @Bash Riprock it sounds that way, but I took it not as an indictment on the NCAA’s handling of the issue but an acknowledgment that if the law can’t accommodate the NCAA’s enforcement of this particular rule and this particular punishment, then that’s the end of the NCAA.

  9. Returning. O D TW 10 8 IC 7 7 Monrovia 9 10 BG 9 7 Speedway 4 3 TC 5 5 Greenwood 5 3 Shelbyville 6 5 My numbers could be 1 or 2 off on any given team. But the conference looks to be in really good shape coming into 2026. I would say the Favorite has to be TW, just seeing who they return. IC will be tough, Monrovia returning alot, BG returns quite a bit. You never know about transfers or kids that may have been injured returning. How good will Greenwood be, since they are used to playing in a tough conference already, and what will Shelbyville bring to the table? Btw order of teams is not a prediction of any kind, just the way the teams typed out of my fingers...... Here is hoping to a great year in the Hoosier Legends Conference.

  11. Two things can be true. 1) Travel ball is awful. 2) Umpires continue to have too much influence on the outcome of baseball/softball games. Now, hear me out on #2. In all sports, officials are there to make sure the game is played fairly and inside the rulebook. In baseball/softball, an umpires strike zone can change in mere seconds. Their eyesight dictates the difference between a baserunner and a strike out, safe or out, fair or foul. I'm a HUGE fan of ABS, NOT because I don't appreciate the job that umpires do, but because you can't have a fair sport based on the whim of a human. I know umpires are doing their best, and 99% of the time, they are calling the game right down the middle. However, we all know that makeup calls exist. I've witnessed and spoken with an umpire that admitted to opening up "the zone" because some coach said something. That's asinine. Kids overcoming adversity is meant to be about the competition. The adversity shouldn't be because of the officials, in ANY sport.

  12. Technically, they're not even in Chicago in the first place. Halas Hall and the practice fields are in suburban Lake Forest.

  13. No Bears’ fan cares what you think … and we hope you fall off your soapbox and hit your head — even though it’s not a vital organ! 🤣😂😅

  14. Word! But just for illustration here. It’s my zone, you need to adapt.

  15. As a former umpire and a former baseball coach, some wise words to live by: NEVER argue balls and strikes.
