  1. Absolutely NOT true. How you drew that conclusion is beyond me. The explanation as to why your post was hidden are VERY clear. You are not a news source; even if you had firsthand knowledge of the incident. If you published a story on a news site and included a link, that would have been completely different. Your logic cannot explain why this current topic is still active.

  2. As the father of a 17-year old girl, I can say that is something that should NEVER be done, regardless of the context.

  3. Yes. Her aunt that I graduated with at AC was also a phenomenal athlete. She was great in volleyball, basketball, and softball. Shame her aunt stopped playing basketball when the coach retired. Julianna reminds me of her in how she speaks & acts.

  4. History made tonight in Evansville. yeah I know it's not football related, but this deserves a post here. In the 106 lb. class, Julianna Ocampo gets a pin with 15 seconds left in the 3rd round to become the first female in Indiana history to earn a spot to compete for a medal. I had Julianna in class and have her younger sister now, and am so proud of her for accomplishing this. She quickly fell behind 9-1 in the 1st round. She battled back in the 2nd round to get the score to 9-5 with some back points. With 1:30 left in the match, she takes the lead at 10-9. Talk about persevering. Not only is she a great wrestler, she is ranked 7th in the nation in the 105 lb weight class, but she is a great kid as well. It was really cool too to hear the place erupt when she took the lead and even louder after she got the pin.

  5. I wouldn’t assume the distribution formula was equal shares, although it might well be.

  6. That class on the women’s side seems to be loaded. Krull here in Indiana as I mentioned before is highly ranked, and Audrey Jimenez in Arizona just won a State championship in Arizona becoming the first female in that State to do that. It was cool to see that Kayla Miracle from Bloomington and an Olympic medalist posted a video cheering Ocampo on after her Friday match on the Flo Wrestling Instagram page.

  8. The days of walking into games and the other team rolls over for you are long gone. Penn in my mind needs to get that chip on their shoulder. Rosey is in Cali last I heard. quit coaching so he could support his son's volleyball career. Scott Dreisbach, has head coaching experience or OC experience down in Texas if I am not mistaken.

  9. Flipped the tv on just in time to see the last period of that match. Very cool to see and congratulations to the young lady and all her hardwork. Still feel for the young man from Plymouth tho. Made history for all the wrong reasons.

  10. It’s probably in the Annual Report somewhere. I know their General Counsel, Robert Baker, has a salary of just under $160K. If you compare the IHSAA to the parallel organizations in other states, you’d see that the IHSAA runs pretty lean in terms of staffing and salary.

  11. Here is a great video of it. She is still down 9-8 at this point.

  12. I was not the one who hid the topic, but the standard that has been in place since Tim Adams started this site is that posts like the one you mentioned must have a link/source. The same standard has been in place regarding coaching moves and any matters involving player news. There was a post about the incident at NorthWood this past season. The original topic was hidden for the same reason yours was hidden; there was no link. Even hearing something firsthand does not meet the standard TA set over 20 years ago here. So the claim that this was about some "good ole boy" thing is not even close to accurate.

  13. I obviously have no inside info but I'd think that there's gotta be young coaches lining up out the door to take their crack at getting this job. Openings at legitimate blue bloods don't come along every day. I think if Penn takes their time and does their homework, they should be able to land a great coach who can bring them back to the standards they expect.

  14. In all these situations that have involved coaches in our state, I caution folks on a few things, 1. Due process This is why I hid a topic last week talking rumors of something at Glenn with Coach Barron 2. What is reported by WNDU is just that, what they reported. Which is summary of charges, nothing more, nothing less. 3. We've always taken stance going back to Coach Tim Adams days , to allow due process and sticking with to reported facts that become available if they do.

  15. I believe the approved bid was $1.2M. The important thing to know when discussing Sheridan is that this will also solve an issue that has been going on for at least the past 20+ years, the soccer field not being on campus. By adding turf, not only are drainage and upkeep issues that currently exist on the football field resolved, but now the soccer games will be played on campus, which is a win for security purposes. Also, now the band will be able to practice somewhere that isn't the asphalt parking lot.

  16. It seems people here are more worried about rumors than the reason this thread was originated.
