  3. If it a private sector salary then it is really nobody's business. But if that salary comes from taxpayer funds then it behooves the public to be vigilant and questioning.

  5. Another spoiler alert. Even worse, some people get paid a lot more to throw a ball in a little hoop.

  6. From a Jimtown Insider, Coach Stoner had family ties to Fairfield, his father in law coached there. Knox has talent back for this year, they truth will come out the folllowing years when this group graduates. LaVille graduates leaders, but has a few pieces in the lower grades. Bremen has some good seniors in Laidig and Graverson. They may be mid pack. I have no faith in Coach Leeper to increase the numbers, has been an issue for years. I don't know what to say about Glenn. Tippy will challenge Knox for the title. (my views have no value, and are likely to change based on how hungry I am) I

  8. Congrats Coach Gilbert on the new gig. Well done taking the Westfield program to another level! I seem to remember another former Indiana high school coach for a large, stellar program leaving to go to Wabash. Wabash was not his final stop..... #LEO

  9. #oldtakesexposed I think this is what Dakich refers to as "blogger boys" I talked to IRISHMAN on the side, it continues to BAFFLE me that IU has still not figured out how to find guys who can shoot the ball. IU has fallen into that same trap of others, enamored by "STAR" rating and the athleticism of the ranked players, however, are you recruiting any basketball players or just athletes who play basketball? That is exactly what you see in that post above by CrimQuerry, in the summer, X is just the better athlete and is so much better than Smith is the sentiment.......then the season happened...as a reminder, it was between BELMONT and PURDUE for Smith, IU didn't even bother to look at him. You have to find that balance in my opinion between Tremendous athletes with actual basketball players. I know I am huge Purdue fan, alum, etc, however, I WANT IU to be consistently good as it HELPS Purdue, It Helps B10/18/20/24 whatever it is these days

  11. Not sure what you're getting at, I don't recall saying leaving Westfield for Wabash was a lateral move. What am I missing?

  12. 1. Money, great SES, two parent households, etc. 2. One of, if not THE fastest growing area of population in the state. 3. Facilities are top notch. 4. Best conference in Indiana FORCES them to stay competitive (a rising tide raises all boats). 5. Recent state championship appearance/success that can be sold as a cultural piece to the current crop of student athletes. 6. Pay/teaching schedule. Just my opinion.

  14. It isn't often that I get to feel like I'm right there in those moments anymore, but, for some reason, this did the trick. Thank you.

  15. Great hire for Wabash! Happy for Jake and his family, Westfield will be in good hands. Also it would appear many folks are waaaay too concerned at how much money is being paid to someone. I wish I had the time to be that concerned about other folks! Carry on.....
