You realize Floyd Central was in the MSC back in the beginning right? They had no culture, nor tradition.

As do I but I quit responding to his nonsense. Trinity Lutheran started their youth program back up two years ago. The did field a MS team this past fall. It’s frustrating to watch as a Football guy, because it’s the same crap that caused it to fail the first two times. Unorganized, coaching that doesn’t understand basic football concepts, and parents with unrealistic expectations. On the bright side of things their enrollment does seem to be growing especially in light of Seymour’s enrollment issues. According to the IHSAA, they’re up to 166. In years past while trying to participate in football they had numbers as low as 124 I believe. Tough to field a men’s XC, Soccer, and Football out of those numbers. I wish them well, but I don’t see this ending any differently than it has the two previous attempts.

If I recall, wasn’t Henryville suppose to be coming shortly after SC started theirs? SC left and started their own school corp and it seemed like Henryville kind of lost steam, eventually dropping their youth program.

I knew TA pretty well, he had a pretty good sense of humor.

Actually for those lacking a stick up their ass, or the self anointed, he’s pretty funny.

The Roncalli series goes back to Scifres/Ballart. I know they had great respect for each other. It’s turned into a nice rivalry. I know both schools love playing this series.

EC is in a pretty good spot, their current conference gives them the flexibility to go play natural rival Harrison, GCL power, and Indy area team, Roncalli typically which has become a pretty good rivalry. Limited travel for lower levels, why move?

I always thought Pekin might have jumped the gun starting their program. Their at the time superintendent, former Brownstown HS principal really pushed hard. I’m a football guy, I want to see football succeed, but I’m not sure it’s in the cards there.

Pekin not the least bit surprising. Dude wanted out of JC, and that was a quick way out. Pekin was always a stepping stone.

Exactly what I wanted, to see where they were looking. Again, this was only used for training purposes. Had no interest in sharing film.

I no longer apply for the tournament in either sport I work, I’m way past the point of caring, what are they going to do take my license?

I asked about this for training purposes. I was told in no uncertain terms absolutely not.

In my time around HS football, I’ve honestly never heard of this in HS games. I think there was mention of halftime IV’s in the book Friday Night Lights, which is an awesome read by the way, the movie….not so much. Seriously halftimes are 15 minutes, how much are you going to get in you?

Makes perfect sense I mean why would players want to see mom and dad? Just another stupid “because I said so” policy.

As far as the Hoosier Hills, not sure who’s happy about making that trip from Floyd Central or BNL to St Leon on a Tuesday night in the middle of winter.

How would the officials even monitor this?

Agreed 100%, as the WH I’m trailing, move on, move on, pancakes, two lineman pushing and shoving, you can usually talk them out of stupid stuff.

I think I can clear up the confusion. The official in question is indeed a 6th member of the crew as they’ve had some ongoing health issues the last couple of seasons. I myself have worked with them as well. The official was paid $50 bucks for the game by game administration, no mileage, as well as each crew member chipping in a few bucks to have him there in the event he’s needed. Which given some of the health issues is ALWAYS a possibility. To earn his keep, he charts penalties for them. Good crew, multiple state finals.
