I’m going to watch New Albany at Jennings County tonight. And I’m not listening to the IU game on the way home either.

I have long railed against ESPN/NCAA for bringing college games to Friday nights, yea I’m looking at you IU. Now the NFL is getting in the act. I suggest you join my merry band of pirates, screw the Big10, screw IU, screw TV, dare I say it screw….the man….there I said it. Go to a local school of your choosing tonight, plop down your 6-7 bucks, spend a 20 at the concession stand and enjoy the hell out of kids who just love a game! Who’s with me? …..que patriotic music

Seems to me in Football, the unified number is the actual number of years you’ve worked Football. And Football appears to be two years less.

While the loss of Madison has opened up options, it’s also created some issues.

SIAC schools with their conference schedule and natural rivals, probably a non-starter I would guess. Pretty much rules out most of Vincennes and Evansville. Columbus and Bloomington between their CI schedule, they have the crossover series with the Catholic league. Leave a date for a natural rival, not much left.

From what I’ve seen East has been a mediocre to bad 5A team and North is a mediocre 6A team. The landscape is always evolving.

So I worked an 8th grade game last night between two first year MS teams. The coach that won the toss said he wanted to KO, I just said, no, you’re deferring.

For most of their existence Columbus (North) and Bloomington (Sout) have been conference opponents, that may play into why they’ve only seen each other a handful of times.

It’s a scrimmage. Crew at Seymour asked what I thought of them and I just said, I’m sorry I wasn’t paying attention.

My experience with education is you get out of it what you put into it. My guess is results in the classroom are much more tied to home than whether you go to this special program at that special school. Larger schools by their very nature of being larger have more options to offer, across the board, education, extracurriculars, clubs, etc. As far as listing in all the magazines, follow the money.

When the attorneys say “you’re going to lose”, they’ll walk away. No clue what the attorneys are telling them.

Of course they are. We’ll know pretty quick, the IHSAA is usually pretty quick to walk away from loser cases.
