  1. What happened with the game vs. Hopkinsville?
  2. As much as I'd like to say otherwise, I think 2023 will be a rebuilding year at Memorial. There will be a lot of bodies to replace (especially in the trenches) and I don't think we have all that much beef in the younger groups. I think 2024 will find the Tigers back in Sectional 32 with our friends from the PAC (and maybe with MD if they can win a Regional in 2023).
  3. Reitz hasn't won a Sectional since 2016. By comparison, since then Mater Dei has a state title, 2 Semi-States, 3 Regionals and 4 Sectionals, Memorial has won 2 state titles, 3 Semi-States, 4 Regionals, and 5 Sectionals, and Castle has won 3 Sectionals and 2 Regionals.
  4. I don't see Fish being "all in" over the summer because of baseball, but I have heard that (at least at this point) he is planning on playing football next season. Hurley is not one to mince words, so I expect Bryant had a clear understanding of the situation. MD would also seem to be a place in need of a QB. LOL. Not really knowledgeable and definitely far too old to sit and watch an outdoor camp in January.
  5. I read there was a good amount. Lots really. At Central. On Sunday. At the camp.
  6. Shameful for any coach to allow this at any level of youth sport (pee wee to HS).
  7. Does anyone know if the surface going to be turf or natural grass?
  8. Hard to imagine a facility upgrade that is needed more than at Washington. Congrats to the Hatchets.
  9. I suspect it was a desire to attend a different school.
  10. That, plus the AD at GS doesn't have LDE like some athletic administrators...
  11. Its pretty simple really... Old, white, male legislators attempting to prevent young, black athletes from making money.
  12. As much as I'd like to say yes, we don't have a legitimate claim to that kind of lofty recognition any more than FJ Reitz does (or any other HS in this area IMO). A number of schools have had some darn good teams, some state titles, and even periods of sustained success, but nobody down in this neck of the woods can honestly lay claim to be a "dynasty".
  13. Heck, even Herman Byers' Ghost is dead. Haven't heard from him on Twitter for several years.
  14. Evansville Reitz a DYNASTY? LOL. How in the world is Bishop Chatard not on the Indiana list?
  15. https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2023/01/03/ihsaa-football-ifca-2022-good-works-players-teams-who-helped-indiana-communities/69774887007/ Congrats to the teams and players recognized by the IFCA for giving back to their communities. Well done!
  16. Somebody should go buy all the Purdue football shirts in Ft. Branch & Haubstadt and sell them in Boonville.
  17. Is baseball the biggest culprit in pushing kids to focus on one sport?
  18. You mean Catholic kids who belong to a parish going to public schools instead of Catholic schools? Happens all the time down here...
  19. No doubt. It's why I hope everyone who enjoys the coverage subscribes to the Courier in one way or another. Same with the GID, if you enjoy it, support it before it is gone.
  20. Michael is a big thorn in Paul's @$$ and a great advocate for families.
