  1. As will baseball and softball when it is wet on those fields and perhaps the youth football as well. We utilize ours for a variety of things not just football or soccer.
  2. LOL. Would be brutal to play on if Black in August! and probably tough with black jerseys. I imagine it will be really nice when complete. Hope yours doesn't have any delays like ours did a few years ago... Though I wouldn't mind playing week 1 at home! LOL.
  3. Going Black field or Red Field (Like Edgewood)?
  4. Very few rainouts, and "true" hops to fielders as well.
  5. The Avon mantra for a long time in the late 80s-late 90s was "defend the valley". It appears the Coach Gibson and his Staff have brought back that slogan.
  6. Andrew Rodriguez (DC from Lafayette Harrison) hired at North Vermillion
  7. I meant more around enrolment realigning sectionals. The SF realignment will be minimal (maybe a few teams each year).
  8. If the sectionals are going to align every 2 years it would make sense that 8-man teams also should play 8-man schedules for 2 years...
  9. My question... Will 8-man football teams have to declare for 2 years, or will they be slotted into an 11-man sectional? This could affect sectional alignments as well as classes
  10. Bloomington North is open. Scott Bless retired. IHSAA football: Scott Bless retires as Bloomington North coach (heraldtimesonline.com)
  11. Best place to look would be the IFCA Top 50 List.
  12. Yep. I think this is a run away similar to when Charlie Spegal won it.
  13. Can you pin this when the teams come out? EVERY YEAR someone posts about it...
  14. Most small schools don't have a stable of NFL players... Most small schools have never had a player make it to the NFL... And no HS team (outside of IMG and those type of schools) is beating a college team.
  15. I think most small (3A and smaller) try this model. I think we have a pretty good youth program, a REALLY good weight/conditioning program, and a really good coaching staff that are involved with all aspects of the program (from youth to Jr. High to High School). What you don't probably see or understand is it's a numbers game. Webo had about 100 tackle players this past year. 40 in 2nd/3rd, 36 in 4th/5th, and 22 in 6th grade. Chatard didn't build the CYO program. The success of Chatard, Brebeuf, Guerin, Cathedral, Scecina, Roncalli, Ritter, etc. all helped in building that program. From that point, the kids then select where they want to attend HS. I am sure the CYO program helps with that. You get a group of kids that all want to play together, and they go to school together. That is an advantage that small programs don't have. We have who we have. Some classes are larger, some have a few more athletes. The CYO is a large organization. To compare the youth league of the CYO to other 2A or 3A programs isn't comparing apples to apples. The CYO draws kids from all over the city. Webo draws from kids from Jamestown, Thorntown, Dover... Not exactly the same population as any "side" of the city.
  16. Danville was 0-12 (from 97-2015) before they beat Chatard in 2016...
  17. Agree with SuperJay here... and Fire Dept and Insurance Company... As soon as I saw it on the news, I said electrical. If you've been in the top of it, you would certainly understand.
  18. *Free. Beginning with the Semi-State there is a charge. "To see state finals events, viewers will need to download the free IHSAAtv app to their devices (e.g., a computer, phone or OTT/television appliance device) or visit IHSAAtv.org. The prices to view state finals contests will be the same as buying a ticket at the venue: generally $15 per game or $20 for an all-access pass. The IHSAAtv OTT app is available for Roku, Firestick, Apple TV, and Android Tv devices allowing fans watch in high definition on their televisions."
  19. I searched on IHSAATV.org and found it on there. It appears it will be live streamed.
  20. Last year was 2/4/6 on Friday, so I assume 1/3/5 will be on Friday this year

Lawrenceburg @ Batesville 14. Yorktown @ Delta 15. Brownstown Central @ Triton Central 16. Central Noble @ Manchester 17. Greencastle @ Linton-Stockton 18. Heritage Christian @ Winchester 19. North Posey @ Evansville Mater Dei 20. Rochester @ Lafayette Central Catholic 21. Wheeler @ Bremen 22. Clinton Prairie @ North Vermillion
  22. They need to prove us all wrong and make a run... I am in the same boat... I WANT to pick them, I just can't
  23. I don't know the reason... I am guessing now that everything has to go through IHSAATV for broadcasting to ensure the IHSAA gets their money... It could be budgets, it could be legal, I am not sure.. I know Webo TV has broadcast nearly every game this season and when the tournament starts they don't anymore (or only do certain games). I would guess the majority of schools have the Hudl Focus (the camera where you can livestream), but again IHSAA wants to control who can broadcast or they want their cut.
  24. It would be... Except the IHSAA has to approve all broadcasts during the tournament... Western Boone has a student run TV station and has broadcast all the games this year via YouTube. They were told that they couldn't broadcast this Sectional game.
