  1. Actually the fact that they continue to churn out great teams, despite having poor facilities, should give them some bonus points, if anything.
  2. Pioneer has the best 1A public program. There's a reason why they are now in 2A for the second classification cycle. Pioneer has the best public small school athletic program in the entire state right now.
  3. Former LCC OL Coy Cronk signed with the Packers as an UDFA.
  4. The Pit will always be home. It's too bad that the press box is teeny tiny, to the point that deep tournament games are moved to Logansport.
  5. Purdue has already lost Maliq Carr to Michigan State. Ugh :<
  6. From what I've read, Rosen isn't a fan of watching film or of being a student of the game. If he ever gets his head screwed on right, he might become a factor.
  7. Eh, I receive approximately five e-mails every week from Western about new cases in the school corporation.
  8. Pioneer's helmets are actually based off of the Delaware Blue Hens.

The Colts have $65 million heading into free agency.

I will pick Stafford out of all of these options. You're forgetting Jameis Winston, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Andy Dalton. It might be worth it to gamble on Winston if the Colts feel that their locker room is strong enough. Dak Prescott is also available but I can't see Jerry Jones letting him get away.
  11. I don't like the word contraction. We can call it "DT's Monthly League."
  12. Mid Indiana Conference South Newton Caston Dugger Union Taylor Jay County Edinburgh Lake Station Benton Central
  13. This ranking has been expected because Brohm's last two classes signed the maximum amount of players at around 25. The roster is bloated and this tiny class of 14 was expected. If Purdue finishes .500+ next season expect recruiting to improve again. If you go by average player rating, this is Brohm's third highest ranked class out of five, if you count his first class of mostly Hazell recruits.
  14. GK played well when he did play. He battled injuries and COVID this year.
  15. Pioneer has The Pit and it certainly is one. Winamac has Roudebush Field. Caston has The Crater.
  16. I was able to catch the first half of last nights game and what he was saying is true. There were multiple plays in which Edey was making normal basketball moves, posting up, etc, and his elbows would hit the opposing player simply because he's so much taller than his opponent. Even the announcers were bringing this up and were defending Edey, mentioning that a normal sized player, making the same moves as Edey, wouldn't have any fouls called on him because his elbows would be hitting the defender in the chest. They were simple moves such as Edey moving and rotating his elbows to take a shot and etc. The saddest part is that Edey has been playing basketball for only 3 years or so now. He's a natural and is already one of Purdue's best players, but I'm afraid that he might become discouraged and have mental issues if these types of calls continue to happen.
  17. I do believe it. A lot of Purdue fans are highly disappointed with this team, but I'm not because my expectations were .500 at best. I penciled this year in, 2-3 years ago, as a developmental year and next year as the breakout year. I'm expecting 7-8 wins next year.
  18. They're not going in opposite directions. Next year has been seen by many Boiler fans as the make or break year as Brohm's first good recruiting class will be on campus for three seasons and his first full class will be on campus for four. Purdue wasn't supposed to be very good this season anyway.
  19. The biggest reason I was excited about Pioneer getting bumped up to 2A was the potential for new matchups. Last year was a major disappointment in that regard with the first round exit vs annual opponent Cass, but this past season more than made up for it. I'll cherish the win vs a 6A opponent as much as any of the state championships.
  20. I read in an article that a fan had a stuffed Felix and ran out onto the court with it after a win.
  21. Cass has covered themselves because their girls swimming team has the nickname of Queenfish and I won't be surprised if some of the other girls teams at Cass do something similar.
  22. Around my original area we used to have the Star City Stars, Burnettsville Bees, Buffalo Bison, Bunker Hill Minutemen, Chili Polar Bears, Lincoln Railsplitters, Idaville Green Streaks, and the Twelve Mile Milers. Some old favorites are the Cory Apple Boys, Epsom Salts, Farmersburg Plowboys, Goldsmith Gold Bugs, Huntingburg Happy Hunters, Pimento Peppers, Raleigh Sir Walters, Rosedale Hot Shots, St. Paul Blasters, Smithville Skibos (???), Spencer Cops, Summitville Goblins, Swayzee Speedkings, Tippecanoe Police Dogs, West Baden Sprudels (???), and the White River Little Giants. https://fliphtml5.com/bumg/hobg This is a very comprehensive list of former and current nicknames.
  23. I assumed that it was named after the former Big Ten conference division.
  24. I've always liked the name Comets. Good job Eastern and Caston. Panthers is the most used nickname in the state, but kudos to Pioneer for alliteration at least. RIP to the Rockville Rox, but the Shoals Jug Rox strive to keep the tradition of wacky spelling alive.
