  1. I'd also be interested in the longer term impact. It's one thing to say that someone is more likely to twist a knee, etc. playing on the turf, but is there anything fundamental that wears on the joints, impacts ligaments, etc. in playing on turf from a younger age?
  2. I was looking mainly at the difference, as Tipton also plays Western and Heights as they all belong to Hoosier Conference East. The other difference could be WL, which is a crossover HC game this year for Cass. But Cass will likely get either RCHS or LCC ... or both ... next season, so it tends to be a similar tradeoff from season to season.
  3. These are two of the three 2A schools in the Hoosier Conference, but they are in different divisions ... RCHS in the West and Cass in the East. I'm assuming the difference between Tipton not being on the list and Cass being on it, from the East, is that Cass plays Pioneer and South Adams while Tipton's two non-conference opponents are Elwood and Heritage Christian. Of interest is that Cass's opponents that are making it a tougher schedule are a pair of tough 1A classified school even though Pioneer is serving time in 2A under SF. RCHS gets LCC and West Lafayette this year, and every year, from within the conference.
  4. Wow! Looks like Tipton could end up the big dog in the HC this season?
  5. 1 Point Games · Northwestern @ Cass · Twin Lakes @ Benton Central · West Lafayette @ Rensselaer · Western @ Hamilton Heights 3 Point Games · Central Catholic @ Tipton · Muncie Central at Tech … if we are going Lawrenceburg @ Tech · Traders Point @ Frontier · Delphi @ Tri Central · Fountain Central @ Attica · Sullivan @ South Vermillion · Hammond Noll @ Lake Station
  6. I ain't gonna lie ... while I share your confusion as to the strange change in schedule, that's going to be a cool match-up for Harrison. I'm hoping its across all the levels as my son plays on the freshman team for Harrison and that weekend was vacant due to the recent Muncie Central quarantine. Also looks like it's going to be a home game for Harrison, so I'll maybe get a chance to see that one ... and maybe even both varsity and freshman if all levels are scheduled.
  7. Just varsity or all levels? My son is on the Harrison freshman team and he said that the game with Muncie Central had been cancelled, but I don't know if they had found a freshman opponent yet.
  8. Fixed that for you. 😀 Lord, I apologize for that.
  9. This is one of the predecessors to Harrison High School in West Lafayette. Back in 1970, Harrison HS had its first year after merging Klondike High, Battleground High, and East Tipp High. Those three names still remain as feeder middle schools into Harrison ... East Tipp Middle School, Battleground Middle School, and Klondike Middle School.
  10. 1 Point Games Benton Central @ Western Hamilton Heights @ Northwestern Cass @ Tipton 2 Point Games Central Catholic @ West Lafayette Munster @ Rensselaer Sheridan @ Delphi if this game is being replaced by Delphi @ North Montgomery, then I'll take North Montgomery West Central @ Culver LaVille @ Winamac 3 Point Games Knox @ North Judson Harrison @ Lafayette Jeff Tech @ Logansport McCutcheon @ Kokomo
  11. Didn't want any evidence of the mugging that's about to take place? Lord, I apologize for that.
  12. The list provided are the ones from Wikipedia except without the ones that sold their licenses to non-high school entities, who are now defunct, who were duplicates, or who had their licenses cancelled.

  14. Wonder if they should experiment with a "pay what you feel it is worth" model ... especially because it sounds like the quality isn't consistent across games, locales, announcers, etc. Someone who pays $10.00 and doesn't like the experience due to dropouts, camera work, etc. may not tune in a second time; however, but if they get the option to pay what they think the experience is worth, they might pay $4 this game and might come back again and, if things are improves, they might pay more next time or pay the same $4 they paid before. Yes, there will be cheapskates who pay nothing, but they probably weren't part of folks that were going to pay in a $10 model anyway. Biggest issue would be do the schools incur costs in providing the feed that they have to at least break even? If so, sponsorships or advertising costs could possibly handle that so that proceeds go to the school. I think, if the schools were also smart, they might also employ some of their kids to make announcements throughout the games thanking folks for their support, talking about what the experience to play ... even in a limited fashion ... means to them, etc. That might also open up some wallets for donations as well that might end up yielding more funds than operating under a $10+ model.
  15. Yep ... I think the site was down last night and this morning things looked different.

  18. The newer release of the site seems to be less mobile-friendly than the previous version. I found that replying to posts on my phone and iPad are problematic; however, doing it on my PC is fine. The aesthetics from the PC side are fine and, might be more perception, but the site response seems a bit faster.
  19. Was watching a college game last night and the announcers mentioned that Tennessee had been unable to scrimmage on Saturday as they had over 40 players out ... although not all were COVID-related. Was thinking about that with regard to sports betting and pick 'ems. Sometimes the injury of a skill position or cornerstone player can impact the bet/pick and that news is typically readily available. On the other hand, the COVID report tends to be relatively low-key or potentially non-existent to the public and, even when it is, due to privacy issues, it rarely mentions players by name/position ... which makes sense, but makes sports betting and pick 'ems more problematic as you are dealing with a lot more unknowns.
  20. Can also be confusing as there are several schools that share the same lettering and, sometimes, there's an inconsistency, across sites, as to how they themselves refer to teams. Lafayette Central Catholic is usually abbreviated as LCC, which I believe might be unique in Indiana team lettering, but a lot of folks just listed it as CC which could also be Crawford County, Clinton Central, Columbia City, Covenant Christian, Corydon Central, and even Cambridge City Lincoln if folks call it . Across sites, it also ends up being an issue ... Chatard, for example, is Bishop Chatard on CalPreps, Indianapolis Chatard on Harrell's site, and Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on Maxpreps. Usually gets abbreviated BC, but around the Lafayette area, BC tends to be Benton Central ... although there may be a local Catholic contingent that thinks "Bishop Chatard" when they hear/see "BC." I think @hhpatriot04 has a good suggestion that can help in clarification as well as, as he states, also increase the reach/engagement of the tweets by using the school's Twitter handle. Would there be a way to pin on GID the Twitter handle of the various schools so that folks could see them? Or maybe join them together with the distribution map that would show you the school, their class, and maybe their Twitter handle?
  21. Are they moving basketball to the fall and football to spring?
  22. I tend to only follow on game days while out at a game. No real preference on the more/less aspect. I'm normally just checking for updated scores during game time, so as long as folks are posting them, that mainly all I come for on Twitter ... I don't even have a Twitter account.
