I'll always respect the heck out of the Penn program, and it's hard to follow Chris Geesman and everything he did up there. Cory Yeoman is a good football coach. Still miss playing Penn every year. BD and the Kingsmen had some good battles. That said, after what the Irish are about to do to the Kingsmen, I think it will be a long ride back to Mishawaka. Health to both teams.

I don't want to cut down Avon as my father was a former head football coach there and played with Coach Bless' father at UIndy, but the Orioles had a very tough night defensively. Started out as a chippy shootout, but I was very impressed at how Ben Davis adjusted. Crishon McCray is the real deal Holyfield though. If they can get the defense figured out, they're going to be a tough team to beat. They're going to score 30 in a lot of games. If they can keep the other team under that, they're going to be much better. Also, Banks and Reese Taylor get a lot of attention as great BD quarterbacks, but Castner is probably #3 on that all-time list at BD. Kyle was smart, accurate, and had an arsenal of weapons to throw to.

I'm just shocked that team ended up on ESPN. It's not like they clearly didn't know if the announcers were saying it in the game.

Thumbs Up Ben Davis's J'uan Swanson who went 22 for 27 and 423 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT in this game. His 423 broke Kyle Castner's 2014 school record of 377 yards passing in a game.

Not sure that was necessary. As far as this, I read the article yesterday. What an embarrassment by ESPN! All the great high school football, and they broadcast that. As an aside, if an Indiana school were to play on a Sunday, it would need a waiver from the IHSAA, correct?

Knowing Mike Kirschner, there was some technical or logistical reason for this issue. Likely, as others have said, the game film would have been from last year since they didn't scrimmage. Mike's a first-class guy and doesn't play petty games.

Sure hope we get to play on Friday. I think both teams need it. Of course, safety first.

Brownsburg physically dominated Ben Davis. Congrats to Coach Hart and the Bulldogs. Same. Coach Simmons mentioned it on Inside Ben Davis Football it was a concern, so it was on their minds. Oh well. On to Avon.

Some are even using the IHSAA's logo in their profile picture to try to get you to click on their links that will scam you or try to get your information. John Harrell predicts scores...not spreads. Kyle Neddenriep predicts scores...not spreads. Sagarin doesn't predict scores, you have to use your math skills to figure it out. I think it's different to predict betting-like spreads. Granted, I know I'm probably in the minority here. It just seems unseemly. Every ad on TV is for a sportsbook. I am sure it's only a matter of time before there's some scandal in hs football.

Avon beating LN is in no way an upset. I saw you corrected yourself on the BD/Brownsburg game, but BD returns their QB and most of the O-Line. Defense will be a work in progress. Depth is also an issue. Once you get past the starters, you find guys that are participating in their first varsity action really fast. Young PK (sophomore). So...I think it all balances out. Should be a great game with a Brownsburg team that has a lot of good players.

BD/Brownsburg is a win-win at their respective stadiums. Great atmosphere!
