I found what UConn's schedule was supposed to be for 2020. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/sports/dog-house/uconn-releases-finalized-2020-football-schedule-huskies/2158503/ Illinois, Indiana (Big Ten), Ole Miss (SEC), North Carolina/Virginia (ACC) were going to be their $$ games. All of those conferences dropped them for conference-only schedules. I'm almost positive San Jose State cancelled most/all of their football schedule as well. Reminds me of when I was a young lad. After several girls turned me down for the dance, I would proudly tell my friends "I want to go stag, so I don't limit my options."

UConn (FBS independent) not able to schedule any opponents and decides to cancel. They’re not Notre Dame. In one of the 1,000 threads on here, wasn’t there a discussion about difficulty of scheduling for independents? Speaking of Notre Dame. Anyone notice how Jack Swarbrick changed his tune about a delay as soon as ND was able to field a full ACC schedule this fall?

I would like to modify your statement. Generally I am not a blanket “test everybody” person. But if you are, every person should agree then to quarantine/isolate until they get their results. My understanding is that the above cases (Greenfield, New Pal, and Frankfort teacher) all three were informed of a positive while at school? If results are still pending, DO NOT GO TO SCHOOL until you get them. I don’t see how that is so hard for people to grasp. It’s not a new problem. I remember back in March people were boarding airline flights with pending tests.

According to Twitter, his dad played at Snider. Two assumptions: 1. He presumably still has family in the FW area which would make moving easier. 2. He/his family sees him as a top prospect who might want to early enroll at a college next spring/early summer and season adjustments in Illinois would interfere with that.

Agreed. In the last 24 hours I have received emails or FB notifications from Pocket City, East baseball, and Evansville Youth Soccer asking if I want to sign my kids up. If IHSAA sports end up not working out, looks like there will be plenty of pay to play options for EVSC kids.

I don’t disagree with your statement. My point was directed at ‘Who’ fans sit with at games. I think school/game administration will have their hands full with enforcing ‘where’ and ‘how many’ fans are allowed. They shouldn’t care about who sits with whom. Sadly, I can picture which parents of other players could be an issue at games. By my understanding, Aug. 21st is still in the mandatory mask period from the governor, so they can exercise all the rights they want in the parking lot. As an aside, we kind of hope family seating at games isn’t a thing. My wife and I don’t sit well together when our kids are playing. But that is a different discussion for another day! Lol

I don’t think the school administration should police it, nor should they feel the need to. Given basic protocols like @foxbathas mentioned- plenty of spacing and ‘X’ sections designating a reasonable distance, that should be sufficient. Trust adults to make their own choices. For example, our neighbor has served as a PT babysitter and been in and out of our house for the last few months. With two working parents and elementary aged children, it was either allow her in our family ‘bubble’ or find some sort of day camp/ group child care arrangement. So we made a conscious decision and re-evaluate continuously. For example we distanced from her for a time period after out-of-state travel. If she comes to our oldest son’s games this fall, she will be most likely sitting with us. We could add her to our family ticket group and still be less than Foxbat’s family of 7. Lol No one should be forced to sit with strangers, but at the same time if a group of 5-6 people choose to sit in a row together, I don’t think anyone should feel the need to question our decision.

Colts have informed ticket holders they expect 25% and the Indy 500 is currently at 87,500 fans on Aug 23 (1/4th capacity.) The state/ Marion County health department has allowed crowds, just spread out and masked. The question is IF they will apply the guidelines for entertainment venues to HS sporting events.

August 23, there will be up to 87,500 people (25% capacity) at the Indianapolis 500. I have heard the Colts are telling season ticket holders they are expecting 25% capacity as well. My guess is that will be the guideline. 25% capacity and mandatory masks.

My mistake on the law. I got so used to cool names like PATH, HEROES, CARES, and HEALS I forgot when bills didn’t have phonetic names. Ever try to say EGTRAA, JGTRAA, ARRA, PPACA or TCJA five times fast? The HIPAA comment was meant in jest. It’s been a running joke amongst my coworkers ever since we got a company-wide email stating we had a positive test in the payroll office. When the payroll department is only 3 people and one of them doesn’t show up for several days, it sort of takes the ‘privacy’ aspect out of the equation. I will be sure to add an LOL or emoji next time for clarification.

In the Indianapolis Star, Robert Faulkens mentioned a scientific study conducted in Wisconsin. I was curious, so I researched the study to see if I could find it. Thanks for helping with the game and wish you best of luck this year! I know it’s not really the ‘norm’ but I could see some teams choosing to keep the chains on the home side. Most schools are tight knit communities and the chain gang is an uncle, grandpa, cousin, etc. and part of a pseudo bubble already. Just a thought.

I could see all 10 teams between 7-2 and 2-7. Some questions I wonder that I hope I get to see answered. 1. McKinney, Combs, and Schutte are all gone. Who are the next crop of names to lead the conference? 2. Will one of the new coaches add 3 or more wins to last year’s record? 3. How will Jasper and Vincennes adjust to the no off-week grind of the SIAC? (As Cappy pointed out, 1 win Bosse played a lot of close games.) 4. What factor will luck play in the standings? (injuries and the 900 lb. gorilla of a possible quarantine)

I have one - Windsor single tone electronic whistle. My wife says it's just as loud in the house, for whatever that is worth. It has a slightly different pitch, so it may not travel as well. The biggest difference is the amount of force doesn't vary the sound as much, like you could with your lungs. Not sure if this makes sense, but I would say you wouldn't notice a difference if you used it for a quick RFP whistle. But a more forceful - "Break up those post tackle skirmish" whistles you would notice it.

Unfortunately that is the reality. There will be no delayed start with an extension of football past Thanksgiving. (Similar to Kentucky.) There will always be a ‘hard stop’ at the end of football season no matter what happens prior to that.
