  1. I was pointing out that there was nothing noble in Mishawaka electing to play "up" as a reason why Cathedral should do it. They are already playing "up" and have since the SF was implemented.
  2. Perhaps the same reason why Cathedral doesn't volunteer to play two classes up with Center Grove, Warren, Carmel, etc? Much more practical way of looking at things when the shoe is on the other foot isn't it?
  3. Mishawaka elected to play “up” at the inception of the success factor. When 5A and 6A split it effectively watered down 5A to the max degree. Traditionl 4A powers like Cathedral, Dwenger, Columbus East, Roncalli, etc were still in 4A when Mishawaka elected to play up. 4A was much tougher than 5A before teams started to cycle up.
  4. I think QB play has been more than steady. If we're being honest, offensive line play has been by far and away the most disappointing aspect of the season based on expectation. Not saying it has been bad, but 5 returning starters from last years team and CHS has struggled to consistently run the ball all year.
  5. Unless Zionsville/Michigan City scores 21+ on Cathedral's starting D, and that's happened once this year against a team that is top 10 nationally whose offense took almost 3 quarters to get going, Cathedral isn't going to lose to anyone unless said QB goes out there and turns the ball over 5-6 times which hasn't come close to happening. Red zone issues has much more to do with pre-snap penalties and conservative/predictable play-calling than it has QB play.
  6. He's been very good. 2500 yards 28 TD's to just 2 INT's. 62% completion rate on 300+ attempts. Has also run for 8 more scores. As a sophomore and first year starter, he doesn't need to really be any more than a game manager with the defense behind him, but his played above and beyond expectation this year.
  7. Westfield and Zionsville will roll. Don't let Brownsburg choking cloud your judgment and allow you to overthink things, DAC is arguably more underwhelming than the HCC in recent years.
  8. You can name it after me. The HCC isn’t going to be taken seriously as threat to the MIC until they win in November when it counts.
  9. I didn’t dump on anyone. Ben Davis going 4-5 in the regular season beating nobody of record is now acceptable for program standards? Yeah right. As I stated previously, Brownsburg losing to Ben Davis is more of an indictment on Brownsburg. Nothing more, nothing less. Congratulations to the Giants for surviving and getting to play another week, doesn’t change anything I said however.
  10. You’re the only person continually talking about a JV game from a month prior. I understand Cathedral lives rent free in your head and you have a narrative to push on here but good Lord give it up guy.
  11. For someone not affiliated with CG and claims to have no dog in the fight, you sure seem to have all the answers and insight. You still can’t keep talking about a JV game that happened over a month ago. Never seen a person die on a hill like this. Hmm….things that make you wonder
  12. I’ve offered my opinion on the situation. It was a JV football game, and the last one of the season at that. You’re still talking about a JV football game in mid-November.
  13. Hyperbole? Umm no. Postseason success carries much more weight. The upper half of the SEC has carried the conference name for 2+ decades, no different here. No one denies that the HCC has closed the gap, but until one of its members breaks through and wins a state title, they’re going to be judged as such. Not a hard concept really.
  14. Teams that typically have “off nights” don’t seem to advance in November. Seems to be a theme with Brownsburg.
  15. Heard this the last 4-5 years. A legitimate HCC team isn’t losing to a 4-5 Ben Davis team that hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record. Talk up the HCC all you want, wins in November count for more than August.
  16. What else needs to be said? Where’s HSE? Where’s Brownsburg? The HCC is going to be judged in November not August. We’re all waiting… Westfield the great hope
  17. Ben Davis played phenomenally well tonight. No questions asked. But if Brownsburg can’t beat a 4-5 BD team they handled earlier this year…then when?
  18. I’m here most nights if you haven’t caught on. I’ll start charging soon.
  19. Westfield doesn’t play a soul until they get to LOS. If they play the Trojans within two TD’s they’ll get my stamp of approval. Brownsburg flat choked this year. You can only be the undefeated national champions of August so many times before people start to take notice. Their time has come and gone.
  20. That’s why I said it’s more of an indictment on Brownsburg and the HCC. Ben Davis isn’t special.
