  1. Lincoln Riley for obvious reasons stole the show in the news yesterday voluntarily leaving one blue blood program for another. In my 30 some years I don't think I've ever seen a coaching move of this magnitude other than Roy Williams leaving Kansas to go coach his alma mater UNC. Oklahoma is a blue blood football program and you simply don't see coaches walking away from a job with that much history and success. It got me thinking, is USC the best football job in the country? If not USC, what other jobs are better?
  2. Tom Allen needs to have the humility to admit that he has no idea what he's doing on the offensive side of the ball and essentially hire a "co-Head Coach" to take complete reigns of the offense. Cannot promote a 32 year old with zero play-calling experience like they did with Sheridan and I don't really think they can take a chance on a MAC level coordinator. At minimum the next OC needs to have P5 experience, but I would prefer a former head coach. I think someone like Skip Holtz would be a realistic and quality hire but I prefer IU shoot for the moon first and try and lure someone like Rich Rodriguez, Kevin Sumlin, hell even Art Briles at this point, looking to rejuvenize their career. This will be the single most important (and defining) hire of Allen's career. If he gets this wrong, his buyout is manageable after the 2023 season and he's gone.
  3. The HCC’s #2 was blown out (when it mattered) by the MIC’s #5. The HCC’s #2 just won its first sectional for the first time in almost 30 years. Closed the gap? Please.
  4. Would still say Center Grove is still the favorite until they otherwise lose, but they aren’t runaway favorites like they were this year. Believe they return a fair amount of starters but obviously don’t have anywhere near the top end talent from this years senior class.
  5. Has anyone actually argued that the HCC hasn’t improved over the years. Like you said, at the end of the day it’s about titles. The HCC isn’t even in the discussion yet. Win one and then talk. It’s like saying the B10 is the best basketball conference because they always get the most teams in the tournament yet year after year lay egg after egg when it matters.
  6. Again, it’s not horse shoes and hand grenades. Until it happens, it hasn’t happened. Always next year though…
  7. Brady Allen is a much better QB than Jackson, I don’t care what the rankings say. I’m actually floored that Jackson is going to a respectable SEC school. I get it, he has the size/mobility that coaches drool over but his mechanics/footwork need major improvement and he really hasn’t played in an offense where he needs to make multiple reads and go through progressions down the field. I think he’s in for a rude awakening at the next level, similar to what you saw with McCulley at IU this year. And I say that as the biggest IU football fan there is. Curry is the best football player in the state in my opinion, but it’s a stat/offensive award and Allen wins in that department. It’s a two man race and I’m fine with either getting it, both are deserving.
  8. I thought last years Center Grove team was better than this years team. Center Grove this year benefitted from a pretty weak 6A in my opinion. Ben Davis, Warren, Carmel, the usual cream of the crop, were all considerably down in my opinion. Westfield was a good squad and definitely the second best 6A team by a wide margin but historically I think just ok. 2016 Ben Davis 03-06 Warren teams I believe were all better than this CG team.
  9. Lol. It’s been “happening” for a decade. DT now HHF or whatever disguise he’s come back with for the 100th time routinely spewed the same BS nearly 10 years ago. 4-5 years ago the fantasy take was that Avon and Brownsburg were going to be the West Side giants and Ben Davis was going to be left in the dust. It’s now 2021 and Brownsburg finally won their first sectional this century only to get wrecked by an extremely average Ben Davis team and Avon went 1-9. No doubt that Westfield has raised their 6A profile the last two years, but how much of it was due to a phenomenal 2022 class that has 2-3 D1 kids and Carmel going South? If Westfield can consistently reach LOS you may have a point, but sue me for not jumping on the bandwagon just yet. Also kudos for setting the HCC’s barometer for success for not getting blown out by a MIC team in the final. Really high bar there. Just goes to show you the distance between the two conferences.
  10. Too bad they weren’t playing horse shoes or hand gernades. Always next year though.
  11. So throwing up two scores when you’re dominating the line of scrimmage towards the end of the half was the right move? Clearly worked out for Brebeuf in the end. You’ve nearly cornered the market around here…giving @Bash Riprocka run for his money.
  12. Another clown take. Gibson Southern’s 4* QB wouldn’t have seen the field once, let alone twice to end the first half had I been coaching. Can’t throw an interception if you don’t throw the ball.
  13. Been hearing this for years. Biggest threat to ending MIC’s title streak will be Cathedral the next two years assuming they are bumped. Very real chance it’s an all MIC/Cathedral final once Carmel inevitably gets bumped to the Northern half of the bracket.
  14. What kind of drop off is Westfield expected to have? There’s 3-4 studs in that senior class who I feel like have played and contributed forever. Preseason HCC favorites still?
  15. Lol. You waited 12 weeks to dig this up? Enjoy the bucket friend. BTW, Joe Strickland didn’t impress me at all Friday. Brady Allen on the other hand…
  16. I’m sure he’s used to it in everyday life…people that purposely obtuse usually are.
  17. Incessant name calling? Stop being an idiot and shit-stirrer and I wouldn’t have to call you out.
  18. Westfield will probably disagree with you on being the 2nd toughest team the Irish have played but at the same time the Cathedral offense has come a long way since week 1.
  19. Correct. Zero dog in the fight, at the time of posting it was simply an observation; one team had gotten off the bus, the other team hadn’t.
  20. 14-7 Cathedral. Critical drive ensuing for Zionsville one would think.
