  1. Cathedral got the best draw they could hope for to get some of the injured players back. I'm not sure the story on QB Cameron Koers injured shoulder. I talked to a couple of coaches after the game, Friday night, but of course they wouldn't give me any information. The offense has numerous players out besides Koers, and some could be back for early November. If not, next man up. The Irish almost pulled off a big comeback Friday night with mostly JV players on the offense. Don't let the number 100 fool you, there's not that much depth for the Irish. That's the big thing that hurt them during their stay in 6A.
  2. At his age, I think he's content where he's at. And If it comes to a money decision there are those at, and around, IU with deep pockets. It's good that IU has finally found out that football can be lucrative!
  3. I meant to say all penalties that were half the distance, not just PF's. Sometimes my brain and my fingers don't work in combination. I appreciate the information on this from everyone.
  4. Note that this sectional begins 10-31.
  5. Not much of a bracket: scoreboard.homestead.com/football/bracket13.htm
  6. I appreciate your honesty and hard work!
  7. Cathedral at Anderson New Palestine at Plainfield
  8. Reminder, the draw is happening as I type. It's on IHSAAtv.org. only. (at least in Indianapolis)
  9. I think any penalty that doesn't get the maximum yardage should be an automatic first down. I guess I'm in the minority for that one. Thanks for the response, I hope you're having a good season!
  10. Looks like the Colts are going to eke one out, 31-27. Yep, it's over!
  11. Why did Penn State fire James Franklin? What to know of football coach firing
  12. I'd like to see an automatic first down, like colleges and the NFL, when a personal foul is assessed in a half the distance situation. A DPI was waved against Covington Catholic, this Friday night, and the Irish still faced a 4th down situation instead of it being a first down. This occurred inside the 10 yard line and was in the final seconds of the game. I've long time thought this rule needs to be changed. Thoughts?
  13. Penn State now has 3 losses! And their QB is injured and out for the season.
  14. Quite possibly! Good to see an instate team turn things around. At Church today there was lots of IU gear, but one lady had a shirt that just read "Cignetti." Says it all!
  15. Jacoby Brissett looks like a HOFer today. The Colts left their defense in the locker room, or so it seems. Of course, the Colts have a history of losing to backup QB's.
  16. Slow first half for the Irish but they got things squared away at halftime and rolled to a nice 36-7 win. Wish I was there today.
  17. Did you work the Notre Dame/NC State game today too?
  18. That's the biggest win in IU football history, EVER!
  19. Covington Catholic (KY) 17, Cathedral 10 final Irish QB Cameron Koers injured his shoulder in the 2nd quarter and never returned. I hope he'll be OK for the sectional. Sophomore Luke Finn took over and it took him a while to get loosened up, but he finally led the Irish inside the 10 yard line in the last seconds of the game, but his 4th down pass was well defended. Nice comeback by the Irish in the 4th quarter. They trailed 17-0 starting the 4th, but didn't give up. I'm quite proud of the Irish youngsters! Waiting for the draw on Sunday. Hopefully some Irish players will be back from injury during the sectionals.
  20. Colts whip up on the Raiders, 40-6. I sure hope the Colts place kicker isn't injured too severely. It looked serious when it happened.
  21. Maybe Hamilton County schools should merge. 😉
  22. That must be a new edict.
  23. Thanks for the correction! Most visitors bring their own officials and I just took it for granted this was the case yesterday. My bad!
  24. IMO, you can't lose to UCLA this season and be considered for the CFP!
