Hang in there.

Remember you want to be the guy who replaces the legend, so who is your next in line at Michigan in 2026?

Maybe Jim will come back after winning a Super Bowl with the Chargers?

Harbaugh isn’t eligible to coach in college until August 2028 after his 4 year show-cause penalty for level 1 infractions has expired.

Damn.  Guess he’d better slow down that Chargers turnaround.

Was reading this is a first with the Big 10 having 4 of the top ranked 5 teams.  Is that accurate??

Seems like it would be correct. Though I would probably take all of the SEC teams within the Top 15 in a neutral field game vs. Penn State or Indiana.

I mean, he is not JIM but I think he deserves more time.

Now, Ryan Walters on the other hand...

Well, there was the first month of the season where there was an OL coach who left abruptly after a month......perhaps, something to do with a Purdue Union Hotel that may or may not have been destroyed by overzealous youthful coaches without families......let you draw your own conclusions

There is the fact that everyone was getting money they haven't had before and being under the age of 40......let that also be something you can wrap your brain around on what kind of issues that may have caused.

Still does not seem real.

A common theme among the "experts" is talking about who does not belong in the rankings.....no real talk about who does belong though.

One of my main reasons behind my passion for college football and preference over the NFL is the fact that it seemed every Saturday matters.

I was looking forward to the 12 team playoff more so than anyone but I am kinda off board now.  The regular season is nowhere near as meaningful as it once was.

Just look at the rankings above.  Head to head does not seem to matter.

We were sold that UGA/Bama, OSU/Oregon, Bama/Tennessee, UGA/Texas, UGA/Ole Miss mattered and they obviously are one small data point.

We have another this weekend with IU/OSU.  OSU can probably afford another loss whereas IU's margin for error seems much smaller but I could still see them getting in the playoff at 11-1 as the ACC/Big 12 have cannibalized themselves.

IU and ND at 11-1 or SEC teams at 9-3/10-2?

Agreed... And I think more and more people will realize that as well when the brackets are actually set at the end of the season. And then when the portal goes crazier than it ever has before, interest will dampen even more.

I don’t follow your logic. As it stands right now, how many teams are actually in contention for a spot in the playoffs? At least 15 or 16? That means for the rest of the season we are going to have multiple “elimination” games, as well as several with potential impact on seeding, byes, home field, etc., every weekend. How does that compare with the 4 team format at this point in the season. How many teams truly had a shot at being 1 of 4? Half a dozen? The number of high stakes games in the regular season has at least quadrupled.

Mediocrity is being rewarded.

We were told the games I mentioned were also “high stakes”…which they obviously weren’t.

The supposed #5 team in the country is a 12 point underdog this weekend, lol.

One person’s mediocrity is another person’s parity, I guess.

Eh, I am just a fan of excellence.

Could you have imagined if Michigan had lost to a MAC team at home last year?

That alone should be disqualifying for an opportunity to play for a national title.

Glad you’re not on the Committee.
