I remember being on the sidelines a few years ago when Danville lost to Memorial, a group of strong catholic athletes. A play where the QB ran out of bounds about a yard shy of the first and one of the receivers came over to him and said "YOU HAVE TO GET THE EFFING FIRST DOWN THERE MICHAEL" LOL it's all horseshit. 1

Someone named WarriorFan would be posting how they were ripped off by fat old white guys who are so lame they choose to officiate hs football. I wish the police could get you on some more unsolved mysteries! 1

Now I'm unsure of what your point is here? Is it anti-Christian? Anti-religion? One story defines a whole group for a number of years? Or just really angry generally and looking for a group to target?
Yuccaguy Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Dear God! When will this thing have "run it's course"? 1
RegionFBFan Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Wow this ramped up fast! I think the general consensus is that this officiating crew was in error and the entire play sequence has very bad optics. The crew is not advancing to next round as they should not says a lot and yes the Danville players, coaches and community have a right to be frustrated and angry. I would be just like every other poster would be if their team was in the Danville position.

They have studied those pesky rules ad nauseum I bet. In this case, the color guy for WNDY TV23 was former high school coach Lance Scheib. I would assume after all of those years coaching high school football at Lebanon, Franklin Central, and Noblesville, he just might know a little about the rules. 1 3

The QB was Lindauer and I would bet good money the WR who chewed him out was his cousin, Branson Combs, who now plays at Wake Forest. Do you think Catholics aren't supposed to cuss? Why the f do you think we go to f'ing confession? 3 2

But let me help - Danville had a game stolen from them because of PLAYERS being on the field "during a play" which was after a whistle blew and Brebeuf kids took their helmets off. This head coach is on the field during that SAME EXACT PLAY. I guess only one side gets called for "illegal participation" Save your bs - everyone knows the parochial schools get favoritism and always have Had you taken the time to read any of the half dozen or so posts I’ve made on this subject, on this and other threads, you’d know that I’m on record as saying this was a mistake by the crew. After seeing the video, my opinion is that the proper foul, if any were to be called, would be unsportsmanlike conduct on Danville, not illegal participation. Since UNS is enforced like a dead ball foul, the play counts and the game is over. Now, so much for my being a “ref apologist,” a “moron,” or “asinine.” Let’s see if you’ve got the sack to do the right thing. 5

OR were you at the (BJHS/Danville) game? both (maybe the craziest game I've ever seen and couldn't take it all in...had to rewatch at least once, with benefit of announcers input)

Lance does a really good job as an analyst and tries hard to understand the rules. But unless you study and review the rules like an official does, you will never know them as well as you could. He stated on the broadcast the clock starts again when the ball is spotted after a runner goes out of bounds. That is nowhere in the HS rule book, but it is in the NCAA rule book outside of the last 2 minutes of the half. And the play mentioned above was in the last 2 minutes so the clock wouldn't have started in NCAA either in that situation. 1
