All three of those jobs you have listed at 2/3/4 are better than Carmel IMO.  I'll add in Fishers and HSE and the obvious ones like Cathedral and Chatard also.

Here goes:

1.  Cathedral

2. Westfield

3. Center Grove

4. Brownsburg

5. Fishers

6. HSE

7. Chatard

8. Carmel

9. Ben Davis

10. Warren Central

Just off the top of my head.  Things such as where I am in my career, what my goals are, where I live, what my job responsibilities are along with community support, family involvement and of course, SES.

Doesn't the right coach have the ability (along with a newly refreshed admin commitment) to change a school's position on this list? These positions have changed within the last 10 years, so they can change again.

Oh, no doubt.  But the starting line for these 10 programs differs vastly from most other jobs around the state.  At some places, you just have to have the right guy to keep the train rolling down the tracks, at others you have to build the track, maintain the train, and drive it all once.

Not trying to be a dick, but what makes you so sure?

If you were going to hire a coordinator to lead your program, what would you look for?

Coaches he's worked for? Success in his role? Experience at the level you play at? He checks all those boxes. He's worked under the last 3 Warren coaches too at one point or another. It also isn't unheard for a coordinator to immediately jump into a head role and have early success in the highest class.

He's also hiring a defensive coordinator with head coaching experience so the staff will shape up to be a good one too.

I think Warren Central is one of those programs that a proven coordinator can succeed at. The pipeline of athletes there is so strong it would be pretty hard to fail in my opinion. If I were building a program, I'd go after someone with head coaching success. Warren Central already has a solid foundation and the bones are pretty strong.

All good points by you...and I am not saying you are wrong.

I'd just like to point out that both Jayson West went 4-6 in his last year at Warren, and Mike Kirschner went just 26-19 in his four years at Warren.  Both likely Hall of Famers and state championship coaches.  Warren is 38-29 since their 2018 state title.

Sell me as a Warren supporter on why a first time head coach is going to yield different results than the previous two coaches, both of whom have amazing resumes.

Such as what Westfield did after last season by elevating Josh Miracle, a long time assistant under Jake Gilbert, to fill that spot after Gilbert headed to Wabash. The train was only derailed by Brownsburg.

Who?

It’s more fun if you guess first.

I know you are not an Indy guy, but if you were them who would be your first three calls?

Well, the three best coaches are at Westfield, Center Grove, and Brownsburg. But there's no way those guys are leaving where they're at to go to Warren Central. Kevin Wright would be the man, but I think he was solidified at Carmel before Kirschner stepped down. Maybe Jason West hoping for a gig with richer resources? Scott Turnquist? Mike Brevard? Yeah, not being an Indy guy, those are my first three calls. How'd I do?

Shoot me a PM.

When was the last time Warren hired someone with no previous experience as a HC? I'm guessing it was before Indy went to open enrollment. This will be a much bigger project than just calling plays.

the ability to look a zebra in the eye and scare him into making the call you want.

I just call em like I see em. By all means whine and cry and have me banned.

Nah, just seems juvenile to call someone whom you’ve never met names on an Internet forum, that’s all.  You’ve never “seen” me.

I may not like your posting style (and you might not like mine) but the tough guy/name calling nonsense is pretty weak on your part.

At least Ron has the decency to put me on ignore (even though he removes it at times to throw jabs).

Be better.

Yea you’re making fun of an 80 something who does bring something of value to the table.
Not to mention you post on literally every thread, so either you have an INCREDIBLE breadth of knowledge, or your just some blow hard. You come into the PLAC/MSC thread which you admitted to having nothing to add to the discussion to throw barbs at Bob or Ron or Irishman or me, I really can’t recall. I’ll make you a deal, quit being a dick, and I’ll quit responding to you.

Making fun of whom?  How in the hell am I supposed to know someone’s age on here?  You seemed to get more “offended” by my post than he did which says something.

Taking a deeper look, there are 25 topics on the main page and I have posted in 4 of them…”literally every thread” is nowhere close to accurate.

What have YOU added to this current thread?  Do you own a mirror?
