I’ve talked to two different college coaches at Indiana programs who said they missed on him because he was too slow (~4.7s) to play receiver - and they just didn’t envision him in any other role.

That shows me (a) a lack of imagination, and (b) an over-reliance on measurables.

When you find a kid with his mix of skills combined with his motor, I think you just figure out a way to get him on the field.

He bounced around a couple positions at SIU until they put 25 lbs on him and put him at ILB.

Plus, Southern Indiana just doesn’t get much recruiting attention.  It still surprises me that everybody missed on Mockobee.  Darin Ward played at IU and begged Allen’s staff.  He didn’t even get a PWO from them.

I firmly believe that if Mockobee had played at one of the high profile Indy programs, he’d have had multiple offers.

Must be a sign that football is slowly approaching with the projected temps being in the 60’s/ low 40’s this upcoming week. Might as well camp out at Enlow for the time being haha.

Jasper has scheduled an home and home series with Columbus North for Week 9.

Does this mean Wk. 1 will not be slotted as the non-conference game for SIAC teams once VL is out? If so, I believe that is a big, big mistake.

Nine teams means there will always be a team with a bye or non-conference each week. The bigger miss is not adding three teams and going to divisions, IMO. 

Jasper might have been able to get some bigger gate $$ with one of their more traditional rivals like SR, HH, or even GS. But they chose to go big school route for playoff prep.

You take care of your conference first (if the schools want to play and there is a reason) - I'm surprised HH didn't pick up Jasper in their Apollo slot?? That seemed like a no-brainer to me.

Had this thought, will the SIAC revert back to 7:00 times (other than Jasper) once Lincoln leaves? I do know that was one of the main reasons of the time change.

While coming home early isn’t terrible, but having those extra 30 minutes means more food to eat hahaha and get there on time too. Someone told me it was to get rid of tailgating.

Castle football got the digital lifting stuff this past year as well.
