Any word on Castle next year on scheduling?

I haven’t heard anything yet.

Great in theory but mathematically impossible with an odd (9) number of teams. It works for Reitz, but they are the only team with a non-conference game week 2. Jasper (week 9) already filled their opening with CN.

Gotcha.   I was thinking since Reitz already did, that it left 8 teams so maybe they could redo all schedules to make the off week the same week.   Didn’t know Jasper already filled theirs.

With Reitz announcing their 9th opponent for the next two years makes me wonder what the other 8 SIAC teams are gonna do.   Would be really cool for other SIAC and PAC teams to do the same as Reitz and GS and make some doubleheaders.  Castle and Boonville makes sense.  Jasper and Heritage Hills.  Memorial and Southridge.   Etc.

There is no connection between Memorial and Southridge. Jasper and Southridge would make more sense as both in Dubois Co. Memorial and Mater Dei would be the logical duo. I'd like to see the "Catholic Conclave" with some Indy schools...

I was just trying to find an SIAC team and PAC team that were comparable.   Not two from the same conference.  Just like Reitz and GS.   If that makes sense.

Although it would be really cool if 2 or 3 SIAC teams had their own “classic”.   Similar to the old Evansville vs Owensboro games.

I have some great ideas on T-shirts for the Catholic Bowl.

If you had a good Catholic education instead of that free GS diploma you'd be able to spell "transfer"....

LOL....no doubt about it.  But Hank Jr. said it best when he said....

I can plow a field all day long
I can catch catfish from dusk 'til dawn
We can make our own whiskey and our own smoke, too
Ain't too many things these old boys can't do
We grow good old tomatoes and homemade wine
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

Anyone seen Jasper scrimmage?   Curious what offense they are running.

same for North.  Did anything change formation or scheme on O or D?

I saw Jasper scrimmage GS.  They are running the typical Hart Spread offense.  IZ, OZ, Power, Counter.  Lots of combination routes designed to defeat certain coverages.  My opinion is they would not be able to hang with GS this season, mostly due to OL and DL size and play.

I’m assuming since Nero took over, he will probably be using his same scheme on Defense again. Maybe he will change some things since they do return most of their guys on defense. Not sure about the offense, since they did lose a ton to graduation. I believe 14news did a North preview last week, I’ll try to find that one.

Did you see the HH/FC scrimmage?

I did not--I was at work.  My wife was there.  My son said they were wore out....said FC had well over 100 kids on the roster (we have 38) and they were calling in squads every few plays--fresh guys.  I told him it builds character.  🙂

Heritage Hills only has 38 players?   Freshman through Senior or just Sophomore through Senior?

Last year we (Castle) had more players than just about everyone we played.  I do remember when we played FC in sectionals they probably had more players than us.   Ended up beating them 35-21.  Also, the absolute worst home fans I have ever seen.   It didn’t help they don’t have visitor side bleachers.

Yes. That is Varsity Roster, includes Sophomore - Senior.  Not a terribly uncommon number for us.

I'm a Floyd Central fan. I remember that last possession, it was 28-21 and FC was driving and I feel could've probably scored but their LT completely whiffed and their QB got strip sacked for a 80 yd TD. Crazy ending. Our fans were really bad in that game. But it went both ways. Both fanbase were yelling at each other. A big part of it was McCools helmet kept popping off and they kept calling facemask penalties. It happened at least 5-6 times. I think a lot of our fans thought at some point he was doing it to himself. Idk? Lol. They're supposed to be putting in opposite side bleachers soon, so hopefully that won't be an issue going forward.

I wasn't there. I just know you guys have a terrific football program and was wondering if we looked competent against you guys? I realize that 7 on 7 doesn't really tell a whole lot TBH.

Yeah but you have 2 absolute studs. I love Goldsberry. I need to actually go watch him play live.

He was pretty electric in the Sectional Championship game last year on passing and rushing. Believe he ended up having close to 200 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. I think he also had a few good tackles too and had a sack on a 4th and 2. We couldn’t do much to stop him, I was amazed he only had a FCS offer at the time.

He's ridiculous. You don't play football at Ole Miss if you aren't a tremendous athlete. Lane Kiffin got him a good one for next year.
