He's an Ohio guy.

Freeman

Vrabel

Matt Campbell

Hartline

Hartline would take the job if the first three said no, but if it got to that, they're in trouble. I wouldn't put it past Urban coming back either.

We agree it’s gotta be title or busy for Day?

Also, I don’t think Vrabel is interested.

If they lose at home to Tennessee, he might be gone before he hits the locker room. It's all going to depend on how they feel their chances are with Freeman and Vrabel. You beat Tennessee you aren't playing again til the 1st, waiting until after the 1st (portal closed by then) to hire Matt Campbell just seems like a huge gamble. I think the only way they'd fire Day after the 1st of the year is if they had Urban onboard.

What are the odds of: Notre Dame winning the 1st round game AND Ohio State losing their 1st round game AND Day getting fired AND Freeman going to Ohio State?

Does Freeman feel a bit indebted to Notre Dame? Giving a guy with no head coaching experience an opportunity to run arguably the most iconic college football program in the country? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, I think he likes what he's doing in South Bend..............but you never know.

If the price is right......I do agree though that Freeman does seem to be at home. I mean Bob Knight never felt the urge to go back to Ohio State, sooooooo 😄To be fair, if I said I typed that only being half serious, I would be lying.....it was more like a sliver of seriousness, and more for shits and giggles.

Where is it easier to recruit?

Day got the dreaded vote of confidence from Bjork today…

His advice?

”We have to approach things a little differently on our path to the goal of winning a championship.”

Translation:  “We have to realize that winning the Michigan game is just one small part of the process and not the end all be all.”

Soft.

The answer is Ohio State…and I am not sure it’s particularly close.

More pressure at Ohio State. National championships are expected. All Notre Dame wants to do is make the playoffs with a bunch of smart kids. So yeah, if I'm Freeman, Notre Dame is the more appealing job. Going to Ohio State and not winning looks bad on the resume. At least at Notre Dame there is an excuse.

OSU should start worrying about conference titles first…

Michigan has outscored OSU 130-84 since this proclamation.

Marcus Freeman just signed a 4 year extension. He is now under contract until 2030.

Well deserved!  If you ever have a chance to hear one of his Monday press conferences, after a Saturday game, you will be impressed by his knowledge and presence.  He's still learning a lot, but he has already learned a lot too.

Putrid weekend of games.  Maybe 4 was enough?

Anyways…

Penn State -10.5
Texas -13.5
Ohio State -1
Georgia -1.5

Wait until they move it to 16 teams when the nfl goes to 18 week schedule.
