As of now, they will still be in the SIAC for the 2025-2026 academic year according to their AD. Quote

I forgot the downfall of the Big 8 started with Illinois briefly deciding to go to a District format and Mt. Carmel bolted. Quote

Personally, I would have given VL a second chance to get into the PAC Big School division. I think they would have been a nice fit. The word I heard around the conference is that the second chance wouldn't come because of all the shenanigans that go on with that school at sporting events regarding sportsmanship. That probably wouldn't make the top 5 of things I've seen in those 30 years though. I'm sure we all could make a list. 1 Quote

Aw heck, the visiting team getting taunted and jeered at by the home fans going in and coming out of the locker room is half the fun of playing on the road! That happens everywhere. What I enjoy is fans standing and sitting around the field 10 feet away from the action. Quote
